I can't believe how lazy this guy is, did absolutely nothing all game. Must be dropped for the next game. :)

 ;D

You're lying though, it was his long diagonal pass (notice the word pass and not clearance) that started the move for our first goal.  ;)

All grassroots football has been suspended now as well.

Just been on Vile Talk

They are surpassing themselves now, Gentlemen I give you this gem ! :o :o :o

We need Diego Simeone as manager with Beckham as assistant manager.

I have no doubt they would get the team kicking.

Almost fell off me chair laughing. ;D ;D ;D

The thing that is worrying me from a purely footballing point of view is the possibility of playing 3 games a week to conclude the season.

We have struggled when playing 3 games a week so far this season from what I remember!

Middlemore Road to be closed from 5pm tonight to facilitate the large number of coaches expected
No indication of how far along Middlemore Road it will extend but hopefully not as far as the station

My Moms a steward, she said it’s 40 coaches apparently, so get your tape measure out  ;)

Really? It was reckless. Hows that happened!

I don't know mate, I'm a match official myself and I 100% backed Friends decision at the time. Having watched it back numerous times since I'm still of the opinion it was excessive force.

I would be saying exactly the same if it was one of our players who had committed that challenge.

I wasn't sure where to post this but this seems the most appropriate place.

Darnell Fishers red card against us has been overturned, at least he'll be available for the Fulham game I suppose.

I wonder if it would have happened if it was the other way around though!?!

Anyone have the wherewithal and time to search out what the away ticket sales are looking like?

As of 21 hours ago from PNE website:

Over 700 tickets have already been sold for the game, which is an 8pm kick-off and they remain available online at MyPNE.Com, by calling 0344 856 1966 or in person from the ticket office.

Says they took the full 2k allocation as well.

i think that is at the training ground

You are correct, I’ve been a match official there before and that is certainly the canteen area at the training ground.

Do you have any thoughts on the dragging down of Sawyers in their box?
https://videodownloaderbot.com/#/downloads/Leafagee

Yes mate, I said at the time it's a penalty all day long for me. That's the first time I've seen the replay of it and it's even more conclusive, Don Goodman's analysis was spot on.

That happens outside the box and I guarantee he would have blew for a foul.

As a referee myself I found some of his cards(or lack thereof)  baffling.

Pereira was running through on a break and he got brought down by Kalvin Phillips. The most blatant yellow card you (I) would give.

A few minutes later Kalvin Phillips commits yet another foul, and still no card is produced!

Not long after that Bartley (I think it was) commits a similar foul on a Leeds break and gets a yellow card shoved up his nose!

No consistency whatsoever, I'm sure his observer (no longer called assessors) would have had a word to him about that after the game!

I thought our chant from the SME summed him up perfectly

"How 'rubbish' must you be, we want VAR"

Highlight of a dismal day that one!

Having seen the Bamford "penalty" against Cardiff it reminded me of Edwards at Preston. Wonder if Leeds fans are talking about cheating?

That was also my first thought when I saw it.

To answer your question obviously not.

Although it's now great to have that bit of ammunition should they ever bring the Edwards penalty up any time later in the season.  ;D

Ah, thanks for pointing that out.  I thought that was why Bartley was complaining and not just getting on with take the kick.  Could also have been the fact the Wigan players weren't 4m away I guess?  He just seemed to be complaining to the ref about something.

No worries mate, yeah we can only assume that Bartley was complaining about the Wigan player not being 4 metres but if the ref dropped the ball (which he did) then he was happy for play to restart.

Free kick was slightly further out, he picked it up about a yard inside the box, if anything that helped us.

The drop ball was weird.  The ref got in the way of a simple pass between two albion players.  Bartley cleared the ball out, ref blew up for the drop ball and a Wigan player booted it away.  No yellow card for that.

Then I think the ref gave it as a non-contested drop ball and Bartley should have kicked it back to them.  I think bartley was complaining that we were in possession so Wigan should have returned it to us.  Ref drops it anyway, Wigan player runs through on goal.

Rules now say that the ball hitting the ref is a drop ball and can be awarded to a specific player.  Ref was correct to pull play back.

As a qualified ref myself, You almost got it right.

The only thing you got wrong was that you said Bartley should give it back to them. He doesn't give it back anymore in this situation we are allowed to have the drop ball and continue playing from there.

Referee rightly stopped play when the Wigan player ran onto it.

Attacking indirect free kicks cannot be direct inside the 6 yard box. The ball in moved to the edge of the 6 yard box closest to where the fouls took place. (Happy for a qualified ref to correct me!)

Spot on mate

Just got back, and am still shocked by the performance tonight.

Think I'll sleep on it before making any further comments.

Almost 1-1 and then Leeds race to the other end and make it 2-0

To add to that Commentators are saying the keeper was possibly fouled as well (still receiving treatment as I type)

Will there be pay on the day?

I won't be able to get down to the ticket office tomorrow.

I will give them a ring in the morning but just asking so I can start making plans.

Can I see it back? I've had one chance to see it and it looked comfortable.

When you see it back I think you will change your mind mate. He was unsighted to begin with I think.

Is the ref as bad on TV as he appears from the stand? We're in complete control of this game but it's all very laboured.

He’s awful, borderline red card for a challenge on Periera and he doesn’t even give him a yellow!  ???

Why did he have to wear a shirt and make a point just go in plain clothes and enjoy the game. Nobody would of even known then. Idiot if you ask me

The bloke deserved everything he got

Exactly my thoughts, go in the home end of any ground if needs must, but it's so obvious that you don't wear colours!
