Brought in to play, not as cover, Roy getting increasingly frustrated with Mulumbu & Scharner
:o  Mulumbu ???? have got to be kidding!!!  What has he done wrong but
put in 110% every game, with the odd mistake, making him human.
Man,we are certainly caning our better players.
No wonder everyone is depressed. This is rubbing off on the players themselves eg Morrisons' thoughts on our position and ambition...a little negative?

:o Could be taxi for Mozza if Jeremy is not happy with the comments !!!

David Mills was way before my time so think I will got either Valero or Carson
:o Disagree about Valero...Mowbray played him in the wrong position.Mind you he couldn't tackle and was a bit lightweight.

 >:( Luke Moore......just couldn't be bothered to play...waste of space!!!

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Give us TIME we're kicking on
« on: January 31, 2012, 12:30:55 AM »
Many threads on this forum seem to lead to us 'Kicking On' as a club, investment, better players, better football at times would be nice & I, like many of you guys, want this also.

We are not one of the BIG 4/6 whatever it is these days but we should aim as high as we can & that takes money & just as importantly TIME!!

Today's culture is that we have to have things yesterday & even then its not quick enough to some people.

Cast your minds back a couple of years to Portsmouth in the semi's at Wembley, they went on to win the Cup but by living vastly above there means, look at them now, in the championship, potless & in dire straights financially.

Just one example, there are many more (Leeds etc. etc.).

My point is, we're getting there! but it will take TIME!!
;D Great post...we do have to have our feet firmly on the ground. We are a bottom half team at the moment but we will become established if we spend wisely and bring in good young players for the future eg Dawson.

You cannot run before you can walk......I am happy the way we are going cautiously and steady....this will bear fruits when clubs around us are falling over in financial difficulties.

;D The way he scratches his chin and pulls on his ears when he is being interviewed....especially when they ask him about penalty decisions that went against us.
You know he wants to say something but he keeps his cool and does some more scratching. He has great self control when you know he is boiling inside.

Didn't the bomber come via our youth system? ;D
:o And also Bobby Hope came to us as a 15 year old......what a player he was!!

The great Johnny Nicholls who played alongside Allen in the deady partnership of the mid fifties was signed on a free as an amatuer !

Not many better than him !!
;D He went out with my Mum in the 50's......but she really fancied Ronnie Allen

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Crouch not charged for eye gouge
« on: January 25, 2012, 06:05:42 AM »
Id say Crouch is very lucky Olsson didnt make a meal out of it like many players would do these days.
:o Crouch should have been penalised by the FA......but he plays for England, and will represent England at the Olympic games.....and he doesn't wear a blue and white striped shirt......I rest my case for consistancies in football.

;D Would like to see an organiser or general to play Geras role...we lack in this area.

We have missed Gera a lot since his injury....Mozza and Dozza have done ok...but Zolly has that spark to make things happen.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Conceding Late Goals
« on: January 18, 2012, 11:20:07 PM »
Has anyone worked out how many points we would have now if we hadn't conceded goals in the last 10 mins?

I did a rough estimate from the Chelsea,Man Utd,Stoke,Norwich,Spurs and Everton games of 7 points we could be better off if we had held on for a draw.

:( All the moaners on this thread??
You don't realise how lucky you are to watch Premier League football every week.

I live in Brisbane,Australia (leaving my beloved team in 1968).

I have only been back a few times to see my team play.I would love to have a season ticket and watch them every week (good or bad days).

You only miss what you can't get.......I get to watch at 1am every week my team play on the substitute for being there cheering them on from the stands.

:o Emphatic No and he will do another season.....we will get 2 players in this window and 3 will leave.
Watch this space!!!

that would be me who was with dangerman. as we walked to the ground i still wore my t-shirt and i couldnt believe the amount of people walking up to us and asking to sign without us even asking. also very suprised at how many people asked how they could get one of those very snazzy XXL large t-shirts. ;D
8) Would it be worthwhile to sell "Bomber Brown Legend" t-shirts.....picture on the front, the years he played for us,goals scored etc. Could raise some good cash at 10 quid each,online...I would buy a couple.

 >:( If we play like we did against Norwich,no balls, lack of passion for the shirt, wrong team selection and formation.
4-0 Stoke FSG Giraffe. If we play with guts, determination, passion and ticker 2-1 to us FGS Long.

:o Would you have seen Astle,Kaye,Bomber drop their heads if we let in a goal.
No way that would have happened.
The response would have been "ok lads we now need 2 goals". More often than not they would get those goals back.

These players were on 100 quid a week,not 20,000??
There has to be some pride in wearing our shirt....if not @#%$ off!!

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Bomber to get a statue!
« on: January 15, 2012, 09:33:46 AM »
:o I think we should have a statue of our Bomber with his trademark tongue sticking out the side of his mouth like he did in scoring many of his famous goals for us.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Hodgsons Subsitute Reluctancy.
« on: January 12, 2012, 02:12:10 AM »
What was even more annoying was his reaction of banging his head repeatedly against the wall when it was in effect the consequence of his lack of action
;D Banging his head was in frustration......we are all "would be managers".He gets the money to manage and make those decisions.

I have the faith in his judgment...and we will see the fruits of this at the end of the season.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Marc-Antoine Fortune
« on: January 09, 2012, 02:03:05 AM »
I thought he did well Yesterday when he came on, he has always been good at holding the ball up, could be used more than what we think in the next few weeks.
:o Might be worth a shot in Geras' position...seems to play better as a link player and not striker.....has a reasonable pass.

:( Bought tickets on line in Australia (for a fortune).Tickets were in the middle of the pompey fans...who gave us hell all game.
We just wore our Albion colours and waived an Aussie flag in defiance.
Was a great day except for the result.

:o Think we might shock them.We will be relaxed and can play good football. They are an excellent team but beatable.....think we can scrape a draw.
