 >:( Inept performance by everyone bar Furlong, Bartley and Periera. Sawyers and Hegazi had  "nightmare" games.

Credit to the clayheads they had limitations but were in our faces the whole game. O'Neill always coaches like this and we should have known what to expect from his team set up.

I think Bilic needed to have done more" homework" on Stokes' "spoiling" tactics. Don't think we would have scored even if we played till Thursday lunchtime.
Have to put it down as one of those games.
The worst thing is that teams have now sussed our play out and if they are in "our faces" they have a chance of getting a result.

Get a forward, a left back, in the transfer market and bring back Semi( we missed his steadiness and movement)

;D Yes we have to go up even if for financial reasons only....and hopefully survival with the "big boys".

Given that we're flush in centre backs and still can't defend set pieces and short of legs in midfield.  I would start 3 CBs and 5 across midfield.  Maybe 3 CBs would help defend set pieces more effectively.

Would love to think Harper would be the dynamic midfielder we need but I haven't seen any compelling evidence.  So for Stoke:

                                           Ajayi                   Bartley                Hegazi

                      Furlong                                   Sawyers                              Townsend
                                              Pereira                               Livermore

                                     HRK(Austin after 60)                                      Diangana
:D Yes like the look of that team...would like to see Bond given an opportunity.

:D SB cannot kick the ball for them on the pitch. In all honesty the teams we have played recently have been in "our faces". Charlton did that well with limited resources and I think that's the way teams approach us now, and also heavy tactics, such as shirt pulling, grappling, and take downs.

I think he is doing a fantastic job and will get us up. I actually didn't think we played too badly this week, just a bit unlucky and maybe poor keeping.

;D Love Brunty to pieces, but his 35 year old legs won't do the job in the PL . I believe his best option is to give a few years to a Championship team and then continue his career in coaching, with us hopefully.

Will always be treasured here at The Hawthorns, and has been stated, played here over 3 decades putting him in the "Bomber' class of service to the club.

Think he should be part of the team group with the occasional game or as sub.

Both goals today, rather than coming and commanding his box, he backed off so much he was in his own net. Doesn't have the guts or presence to be a top keeper.
Good save first half though.
We need better.
>:( Yes I have the same have to command your 6 yard area and let your defenders know this. I felt the 2nd goal he was backing into his own net making a save impossible. I think he is a good keeper, but needs to get a few of those balls in the 6 yard area.

;D I always said play both of them ,like the last 20 minutes against Brum, ripped them apart.

This is when Bilic went to a 3-5-2 and it won us the game :D

i think we have enough mobility in the back 3 ,now,to work the play that way.

Astle‚Äôs left peg was for standing on - guess which foot he used to scored the winner in 68 ?
;D Also scored with his left peg the Liverpool replay 1968 ,Birmingham Semi final 1968. ;D

 >:( I am a little worried about the situation at West Ham. They copped another hammering today (pardon the pun "Hammering").

They are on the brink of the relegation zone, and we have one of their"future" stars with us playing out of his skin.

Will they decide to call him back in January? Who knows? but their management team may make that call as they are in dire need for an exciting attacking player.

Personally  I would be really **** if he went but I look on the positive side in that Edwards may get the chance to blossom,as a home grown player,on that left side.

Maybe the shock won't be as bad as losing Harvey Barnes, last season.

:D Someone on here mentioned Rinaldo.......he could be. I liken him to Zico, the beautiful balance and eye for a pass with a good shot to boot.

;D Yes can see a few people being rested for this one. Hegazi should get a game to let Bartley recover.

Edwards to start instead of Diangana. Krovinovic for Pereira (maybe??). Austin for HKR.

Furlong and Ferguson wing backs.

;D He was absolutely superb today and his combination with Sawyers is bang on. Playing his best football since he has been at the Albion. :D

;D Great team performance.Thought Furlong got the "rough end of the pineapple" by being dropped, but hey, what a lovely goal Gibbs got.
It is a squad game and maybe Furlong will be back in the team soon enough.

Special mention HRK and Austin...think they are coming along fine and egging each other on to get goals.

Periera free kick was "wordly" and ;D very Brazilian and he is some player.

Sawyers impeccable play. We are going up....."now you going to believe us ???"

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Charlie Austin
« on: November 26, 2019, 05:25:49 AM »
;D Its simple you play with 1 less DM, or get one to push up a bit more ,probably Sawyer,as he is more mobile. With the back 4 changing to a back 3 when we are attacking and slipping back to 4-2-3-1 when defending.

Sawyer would probably need a rest after about 60 mins, with the workload.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Charlie Austin
« on: November 25, 2019, 10:09:06 PM »
;D Still think we should experiment with 2 up-front. Austin/HKR or Zohore/Austin or Zohore/HKR....this would put extra pressure on opponents defence and might also create a few "combinations" which we are probably lacking.....something I hope Slaven is thinking about,as it might bring more goals. ;D

:D They are playing good football and we will have to be up for it Sawyers and Livermore back for it should help.
I fancy a 1-1 here which is not a disaster. :D

Great result away, shame about the kit change; in one word"ugly"
Livermore looks like a new player this season, its amazing what a new coach and tactics can do for a players confidence. Losing some extra weight has helped too.
I haven't felt this good about watching the Baggies in a long time.
;D My old team use to play in purple with white shorts and white socks...not as overpowering but very smart. :D

:D Why not play Zohore and Austin up front....should be doing this against the Clayheads, anyway,as they have a very leaky defence.

it's not just for the elite, he mentioned it in the documentary that was aired on Friday night.

I like Yardbirds, Blues Breakers, Cream and Blind Faith stuff but find most of the rest of his stuff dull. No doubt he is an exceptional guitarist but his playing lacks soul... it's blues by numbers (IMO).
  >:( Sorry you need to update your musical ear. Blues music is played beautifully by "Slowhands" he was also one of the best guitarists in the world in his hey-day. Each to his own, I guess, but give me Cream,Blind Faith and the Dominoes any day. :D

;D Sign him up today...find the money....he is the next superstar!!!!!
