He won some tackles, generally played the ball tidily. QPRs main threat came from our mistakes when we were in possession. He's probably not instructed to always sit in front of the centre backs when we have possession. I don't think anyone is claiming he was outstanding but is getting a rough deal in my view.

Field escapes criticism for being one of our own, when he’s been average all season. Was no better than Livermore tonight yet despite scoring the winner nobody has mentioned him. If field had got the winner everyone would be raving.

The 3 centre midfielders, including Field were all too one dimensional tonight, not doing enough defensively or offensively in all honesty until Livermore’s goal and that’s why we struggled.

Come on let's be fair is every goal we concede down to the deepest lying midfielder ?

Obviously not, but there was no protecting of the defence as was suggested, or contribution going forwards, so fail to see how he had a good game? Johansson was the same to be fair as well.

You do know how stupid that sounds don't you?

Well the defence wasn't getting much protection from either of the 3 holding midfielders tonight so not really no?

Also, I'm not sure what Livermore was getting stick about for the penalty? Ref clearly gives it for the challenge from Dawson

Unnecessary stick for Field he was playing deep  and his main job is protecting the defence and keep it simple he did his job well.

Didn't we concede 2 goals while he was on the pitch protecting the defence?

I found QPR a very weird side. On the ball and going forwards they showed a much higher skill and technical level, with Freedman posing a threat and they tried to play football, when I was expecting them to be lumping it into our box a lot more. The McClaren effect maybe. They we're a million times better than Villa for example and we never looked like keeping a clean sheet tonight. We played once we scored like we did at Villa, just sitting in and expecting to see the game out but we'd only played 20 minutes, it was premature to retreat as deep as we did.

But then when QPR lost the ball I thought they were an absolute shambles defensively. The space we had to exploit out wide defied belief. We've scored 3 tonight yet had Gayle and Barnes been playing inplace of J-Rod and Murphy it might have been another 7 like the home game.

Also the ref - be interested to see that penalty back. It looked very weak, although our players didn't really protest. That was just after their keeper appeared to handle it outside his box as well.

The great thing about the injury time winner isn't just the boost we get, it's the pain that our rivals will feel. Burst their balloon as well.

There you go: https://vimeo.com/318317220 looked like a blatant dive to me. The QPR players didn't even appeal either

I’ve watched a replay of the penalty a few times now and can’t see what he gives it for. Bit of an odd one.
Great three points though, possibly the most important win we’ll get this season.

Yeah, got to be just as bad as Gayle the other week surely? Hope we put in a complaint about it. Also like to see the handball from their keeper too, looked pretty obvious to me.

Just watched the replays back and it's a great finish by Livermore for the goal. Loved the celebrations too

Also interesting that we looked far more threatening going forwards once we moved JRod out wide. Maybe time to start Dwight down the middle with JRod and Matty either side against Sheff?

Hegazi was the cornerstone of our defence.
The only one who had head screwed on.
I would have said a 9 plus even if not the full 10

Yep, if I'm honest he's the only one who turned up most of the game. Some very blue tinted comments in the after match thread. So pleased we managed to get the 3 points, but we were pretty awful for the majority of the game.

Massive, absolutely massive 3 points. Best bit of play all night saved for the 94th minute. Great build up play especially from Harper. Cool head from Livermore for once for the finish.

Can see how much that means to the players too. Managed 6 points with no Gayle and 10 mins of Phillips, half the game with no Harper and Barry too. Bring on Saturday with them all back.

Need to capitalise on their injuries here now. They're down to 10

Phillips for Field. Can't believe Livermore has seen the full 90.

He probably won't. Been trying to get sent off again for weeks

Again. Don't have the confidence that we'll actually be able to create a chance to get the winner here. Shocking.

Our 2nd was and still is our only shot on target this half.

Shocking. Absolutely criminal to give away a penalty from that.

Yeah shocking camera skills. Thank god we've got Hegazi, won everything today. Holgate diving in a bit too much
