If we play as we did against spurs at home I think we could get something out of the game. City haven't been very clinical in the past few games in front of goal so hopefully that continues and we can keep them out. I fear if we concede early however we will struggle and they will control the game. Best tactic to frustrate them and catch them on the break/from a set piece.

sky still talking about the match as if it was a classic, it was boring overhyped crap. :-[

I like how the media are now all saying it was always going to be a game like that after digging it up as the clash of the year

United had their lowest possession percentage since opta began producing stats apparently.. Also only had 6 touches in liverpool's box the entire game

Also, all of his yellows have been very late on in the game. Not sure if that is him getting tired, or more of a take one for the team situation so late on:

84th Min - Palace
93rd Min - Everton
89th Min - Bournemouth
96th Min - Sunderland
94th Min - Spurs

Looking on the stats websites he got a yellow against Palace first game, Everton second game, Bournemouth 4th game, and in the last two games against Sunderland and Spurs

I know it's a joke Jacko (hopefully)....no-one can seriously doubt the actual effort Fletcher gives to the cause ...surely ?

Was certainly doing his bit to get the crowd going at the corner that we scored from

Not sure, but it looked as though we were getting ready to sub Fletcher off a couple of times with Morrisson being readied. I could see him limping a bit and he did look tired.

I was impressed by the display. As mentioned, that is how to play against the big sides. Stay in the game for as long as possible and then snatch a goal. I think we looked the better side in the second half, and the vibe was growing between the players and fans. I think we responded to what we were seeing and generated a bit of an atmosphere prior to scoring. When we scored - I haven't celebrated like that or seen others celebrating like that for a while, which I think shows how pleased we were with the goal at that stage. Also we managed to keep the normally pretty loud Spurs away support quiet for most of the game. Shame that we couldn't hold on for the 3 points, but I think most of us would have taken a point at half time.

Overall, even though we weren't free flowing, attacking all game, I have no problem with performances like that where we defend with our lives and then break well. As mentioned in other places, I think our wingers were good yesterday. Phillips was offering defensive help every time Spurs had the ball, as was McClean. Phillips just didn't seem to be having much luck against his fullback, whereas McClean managed to get through a number of times and put in some searching balls.

I would have liked to see Rondon replaced instead of Chadli, as he looked knackered and it wouldn't have upset the balance of the team as much.

Gmac and Evans were both great, however I think Evans picked up his 5th yellow at the end?

Fletcher seemed to be playing higher up the pitch for periods yesterday, meaning that Chadli was left further back which I didn't really understand. I'd like to see Chadli closer to Rondon for any knock downs as he is better with the ball. Yacob also did a good job and kept their midfield quiet.

Spurs reminded me of England, which is no surprise given the amount of England players they've got in the side. I was impressed by the strength of their striker and thought he held the ball up well. Did anyone else notice the linesman wait until Alli stood up from his injury to flag him offside?!

I think it will be interesting to see the type of players that are singed in January. Especially if Pulis knows that he his not getting his contract extended/Lai knows that he is not extending his contract. Will we end up with short-term signings to see us through until the end of the season, and then more of a long-term re-shuffle in the summer? Or will we look at players that will do a job in a Pulis side, but be more for the next manager to utilise? I think this is one of the biggest issues in allowing the manager/head coach too much influence on the signings. If Pulis knows he is not going to be with us next year, what are his motivations in the January window?

I'd also include McClean based on his performances this season. Think he was my man of the match yesterday. Everytime we attacked or defended he was there which is exactly what we need in the system that we are playing. His final ball has certainly improved as well

The first save he made from Eriksen was excellent, he was moving the wrong way to start and thought it was a certain goal. Showed great reflexes to get a hand on it. The Spurs fans on the way home were also very complimentary of his performance.

Someone very high up the food chain has got to this guy. The Telegraph will be wishing they'd published sooner.

Yep I was thinking the same thing. This coupled with the injunctions rumour may make it difficult for them to publish anything. Unless they've got camera footage like with the others

Yeah I heard it to, and he definitely said that our manager doesn't play counter attacking and sets up more defensively instead, and that we're not likely to change. He was hardly baited either, just asked whether he could understand the fans' frustration when they see teams like Leicester can doing so well.

Yes, but it's at the price of not attacking. Is that what you really want?

I didn't say it was what I wanted... Just sharing a more positive stat from the Pulis era. We can't lose if we don't concede after all
