Just had a look at the top scorers in each premier league team this season, the majority have 2 players scoring around 10 or more in the league, we've got Rondon on 9 and Berahino/Dawson on 4. Only Palace, Bournemouth and Villa's top 2 scorers have less

No way will he get 20 goals for us IMO. Firstly I can't see him getting the service and secondly he just doesn't look clinical enough.

I agree. Certainly need a partner for him next season who could also look to get around 10 goals. That and the midfield chipping in with a few and I'd be happier

Saw some great photos of the seats at the weekend with flowers left in them by the Liverpool fans. Also not seen any negative comments regarding the gesture, just those saying how great a tribute it was and that we've gone up in a lot of other fans' estimations as a club which has to be seen as a good thing. Gave me goosebumps before kick off

I was slightly concerned that Rondon kept being beaten in the air and out muscled by Lucas.

Also I feel that after we got our goal it looked as though the team felt the job was done and reverted back to not attacking and trying to hold onto the lead until they inevitably scored. Think sometimes we need to continue applying the pressure that helped put us a goal in front while the other team is still on the ropes, rather than giving them a chance to regroup and get back into the game

My girlfriend hates football but watched our game the other day and kept saying why do they keep passing it straight back to the other team, and why every time she looks up the other team has the ball and is attacking us. Sums it up when complete strangers to football or our team can see our main problems but we carry on doing the same basic things wrong every game.

Agree though that Rondon getting 10 goals in his first season is a good achievement, just a shame we can't kick on after going a goal up, and seem to more often than not revert back to type as if the job's done after scoring.

Both of these appointments completely robbed us of decent local journalism. Add that to Steve M leaving express and star.

Agreed, the local newspaper websites are awful and have sold themselves out to click-bait type articles to increase traffic and revenue from advertising. Lost count of the number of pointless articles I see pop up about West Brom usually containing a pointless poll or total non-stories based on rumours and no solid sources.

However our club is obviously known for keeping its cards close to its chest and doesn't give too much away anyway

I also agree about the seats left over to casual attendees. A few seasons back I didn't renew my season ticket and instead picked which games to attend. Going by myself most of the time wasn't an issue as the majority of seats left over are by themselves. However when I wanted to take others with me you'd always end up in the front 4 or so rows or behind the goal line in the East Stand. Not really sure what could be done mind, but it is worth noting that it has put me off going to games, so may also put others off, especially if attending in a group or bringing potential new fans along. If there was a way to group all of the unsold tickets together maybe, or make it so that there aren't so many single seats left over, but really can't see how you'd do anything like that.

Cheers, might make a weekend of it since I'm in the South West

And that isn't the role RDM plays. When he won the Champions League with Chelsea we all know Drogba, Lampard and Terry were pulling the strings. RDM saw himself as a senior member of the playing team and a team mate rather than the Gaffa.

Agreed. I felt the same when he was with us, that when things got tough he unfortunately wasn't the type of manager that was needed to get things going again

I'd have thought they'd be all over Nigel Pearson or someone of that ilk. After all the dressing room unrest and disciplinary issues they need someone to come in and stamp some authority.

Meek acceptance on the Newcastle boards. Relegated by Allardyce with Pardew contesting the cup final. You reap what you sow.

Am I right in thinking this will break Allardyce's never relegated record as well?

Would be good to get to some of the grounds that we don't often get to go to. Does anyone know what the process is for getting pre season tickets? Is it a case of just buying on the day usually?

Hopefully he'll be utilised as more of an outlet for counter attacks next season, think that's something we've badly missed. Of course this depends on who will be the full back behind him. Someone mentioned in another thread that our wingers are having to constantly help cover the full back which stifles their attacking threat when we do gain possession.

Looks like Norwich and Newcastle down then. All decided before the final game

I imagine the squad numbers have to be confirmed before the season starts early August and Ideye was still here until the end of that month so would have kept it at the time with Rondon having the number 33 confirmed, not sure if you can change them after the season starts or not.

Good point, I didn't realise we didn't sell Ideye until 31St August, thought he'd gone long before then

Rondon will be changing to number 9 next season from number 33. Interesting we didn't have a registered number 9 this season, Brown Ideye wore the shirt the year before.

There was something mentioned in the assembly minutes from last month:

Costings have now been gathered and major artwork is now planned for the interior and exterior of The Hawthorns in time for next season.
Members were shown artist impressions of how this artwork might look to general approval. One idea was for 300 Club members to be among the players chosen for the branding.

There's also something there about possibly relocating the throstle to accommodate more disabled bays in Woodman Corner but only says that's one of their options.

Not sure if the link will work here but just seen the video of the West Ham fans before the game:

Great counter attacking goal that by united

A price freeze was the best we could have  expected really. As has been said I doubt the club would want to intentionally make less money. £21 a game isn't bad. Many fans have been supporting twenty's plenty campaign for away tickets

Yeah I see the West Ham fans couldn't help themselves. As Souness was saying those are the pictures that'll be beamed around the world overshadowing the day and game

I think it looks pretty nice. However the £50 price for just the shirt. To fill the nice space on the back with a number a name it's another £15 too. Can't remember the last t shirt I spent £65 on!
