General Football & Sports / Re: European league by 2022
« on: Yesterday at 09:22:07 AM »
British football will be worse off financially if the 'big six' take their ball and go, but I'd argue we'd be in a better competitive situation. Of course, what should happen and what would actually happen are often unrelated.

I would imagine Everton, Leeds, Newcastle would then become the ‘Big 3’ and we would have the same issues all over again.

It’s just a rehash of the Champions League and all teams will continue to compete in their respective leagues.

There's no way it will be rushed out before it's safe. Regardless of the demand, the legal costs if it has side effects will run into billions. I will have a vaccine when it's avaliable but if I got seriously ill, would be straight onto the solisctor.

Sorry to disappoint but the big pharmaceuticals have got a free hit and cannot be sued for this vaccine.

Last season was make up break for them and it looks like it’s make. Those back to back derbies for us with Wolves and Villa give me shudders. One of those games we will be relegated.

Whoever gets this vaccine please let me know of the medium to long term side effects. Then I’ll look at getting it in a few years maybe, cheers.

This is the problem that was experienced first time round.

It is incredibly difficult for hospitals to throw COVID patients into the nightingale hospitals due to the level of care and support those in the ICU require.

They would be better served utilising the nightingale hospitals for those non emergency patients, day to day patients etc.

Well either way round would be suitable for me. As long as day to day doesn't get sidelined again like it has been.

Greater Manchester region moved to tier 3, Lancashire expected to follow, that's the entire metropolitan North West.

Lancashire staying in 2 local MP's have said and no decision on 3. Happy with that as I have a trip to Lancashire this weekend which fingers crossed is still going ahead.

Are they in for other reasons but have tested positive perhaps?

There maybe 81 at the QE positive but not all will be in ICU?

This is the case I would believe. IMO anyone receiving a positive test should immediately be shipped over to NHS Nightingale then leave the general hospital to be just that.

Does anyone know what notice period will be given should an area be moved say from Tier 2 to Tier 3? Guessing it’s not instant but perhaps a few days in the future?

Dave has a lot of admirers and rightly so. Like everything he also has he critics who deem him to be quite a rude individual who gives his support runners very little credit.

I see that wonderful bastion of good behaviour, Liverpool, have done themselves proud again.

Chances are these students (that’s what they are) are from across the country and are not exclusively Liverpudlians. In fact, I’d hazard a guess that Liverpudlians go to university elsewhere.

I think the virus taking off again is something that's going to happen mate regardless until a vaccine is found sadly.

What if a vaccine isn’t found though? We can’t keep playing along with this nonsense.

Who cares politics and sport don't mix.

It does when it suits. I agree though, football should be apolitical.

Forest appoint Chris Hughton

Bit of positive news for BLM as it’s Black History Month but doubt it will get a mention.

He's done exactly what he said he was. It was only ever a marketing exercise for Lai and the Palm group.

Exactly. He has actually stuck to his word whether we like the outcome of not. It's not like he came in stating Champions League football in 5 years and that hogwash.

Very true, but it will be elements of the left not all the left. In the same way not all the right are racist. But to put things back on track why has he gone to hospital when the White House has it's own medical centre?

I would say if things quickly take a turn for the worst (as it can) then he is already at the hospital rather than needing to travel there with an oxygen mask and any other medical accessories wired to him.

Also, he has his macho man powerful world leader image to uphold. He walked unaided to a helicopter whereas 12 hours later he may have needed to be pushed in a wheelchair or even strapped to a hospital bed. There’s an election coming up remember.

The hate from the apparently caring, empathetic and tolerant left is disgusting, wishing death to the President and previously Boris Johnson on the basis that they have different opinions in politics.

That’s what I’m hoping gets proved.

If the first cases of COVID came to these shores back in February then how come the death rate was so high so quickly in March and April? Whereas now we are seeing a gradual incline from July and hardly any deaths.

How did it escalate so quickly in the supposed first wave and penetrate hard to reach members of the community? Yet the second wave hasn’t had that speedy impact.

We should keep a pinned post tallying up the amount of errors and points dropped because of Johnstone.
