I fancy us to win tomorrow. I think Man City's Away form woes will continue.

Completely agree, he is wasted as a DM needs to be getting in and around the box getting on the attack. I hope we set up to have a good go at City and play Yacob as our only Defensive midfielder.
In all fairness there ground does hold 42,500 so you really cannot compare the two
Which ever way you look at it 2000 tickets left for our big derby game (which we supposedly care about more then villa) is very poor. That's taking into account it's Monday night ( which most people are raving about cause it's a mid week derby flood light game) £40 a ticket and on sky. It's still poor!
Well, he has 1 cap for France, who quality wise right now are similar to England. So that hints of something promising. I don't think any of our current players could get 1 England cap right now if they where English which is something to think about.
Really want to go far in a cup competition this season. Semi-Final minimum target in either cup. For me, the League Cup presents a wonderful opportunity.
We shouldn't fear anyone in this competition - even if we were to draw Tottenham or Arsenal at Home.
Yet he'll be a Bosman aged 30 in 2015 and would have the pick of 15 or 16 Premier League sides. Make no mistake how highly rated this guy is as both a player and a professional within the game.
What makes you think we haven't opened talks because the player doesn't want to? I would expect movement on this in January. Brunt cannot talk to other clubs until January 2015 under this contract. There is no rush.
Of the core you mention Dorrans is the obvious one to sell (reason being he's not a core player). Not our captain, best passer, best set piece taker, highest chance creator. At 28 he is coming into his peak years. Would be absolutely crazy to sell.
Great news. If we are to play our favoured 433 we need a centre forward who can score goals AND link the play. Not sure any of our other forwards meet the criteria.

Nicolas Anelka has been persuaded to play on for West Brom. @John__Percy report to follow... #WBA
Mate that was 5 years ago the rule book has been ripped up and re written since then. With the amount of money in the game now 4 million is becoming absolute peanuts you just cannt compare whats happening now with what happened 5 years ago its a totally different ball game financially.
I thought that was the job of our much lauded scouting system. We keep hearing about they scout players for 2-3 seasons compiling a dossier on what type of player and charachter we will be getting.
The amount of time we spend signing players there should never be any donkeys in the mix.
We dont do rash appointments.
We won't do that, we all know tha JP will never let the club get into that situation while he is in charge, but with a choice of overpaying to bring in what we need to stay up by a few million or risk losing the massive income that being in the Prem brings, then sometimes we need to roll the dice. Who knows, a good season later and that player who we overpaid for could be worth double that "inflated" amount. Look at Benteke, at £7million it was a gamble, he's now worth at least 3x that amount. Sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate, and if our scouting department can deliver the risk is reduced. If a player isn't deemed worth paying a few million for, then we shouldn't be looking to sign them anyway. We have been creative with great success over the last few years, but these deals don't grow on trees, sometimes you need to balance the bargain hunting with a concise effort to bring in a player that addresses your weakness as a team. I'm not panicking yet, the club are actively seeking players to address our weaknesses, lets just hope we are not 3 games in without a point on the board before they arrive. At the moment, we are too narrow minded and slow to act in these matters, we need to change this mentality or face the consequences.
