Last Match Forum - 11/12 Wigan Athletic (A) / Re: After Match Debate

“As I said, I’m not happy with a point before the game, but definitely - if we look at the game - it was a very good point for us and I have to give the credit to the home side because they were really up for it today.”

It sounds like saw what everyone else at least, didn't try to mask it like a number of managers do.

in Slav we trust.

Well said.

And as someone else said, a lot of matches in a short space of time.

How I'd love us to get back to the top though; I went for it at 10-1.......

I'm still  bitter about it. Us vs Portsmouth should have been the final, and they beat us with a handball, and a team they couldn't afford.

I too agree - bloody annoying to this day.

Should have been ours!!!

Same as always for me the worst team possible at home. It's the first round on our way to being potential cup winners so the easier the better.

I continue to live in hope!

You've got to keep dreaming. FA Cup win no.6, it's about time, and we have a great manager and squad now...

I've only just seen this particular thread.

Health worries aside, what an uplifting dream, a good read that I think has made us all smile.

I don't get many chances to get down to the Hawthorns and I'm only 120 miles away! But it made me realise how much just one match can mean to any of us and I really really hope that you can make it one day.

What a great time in our history for you to start supporting the Albion too. Boing boing mate.

Can't get excited by England these days. How come we always play uninspiring teams like Montenegro too...?

I was on a train into Brum' late yesterday afternoon. A group of Vilers who'd left the Seal Sanctuary early boarded at Aston not long after news of Mane's winner filtered through. They must have left either just before or as the equaliser went in. I never thought I'd type a sentence containing the words Vilers, Aston train station, oh you beautiful Scousers, scene of utter heart warming devastation and wild vibrant celebration in one. But there you have it. I fkn love football at times. Yesterday's journey on the Lichfield to New Street line was one of those times. Superb, emotive drama and all for the cost of a local return ticket.

Excellent post that, made me feel like I was there!!

If we are still unbeaten on Oct 19th at 5pm - we will have done well.

Anyone expect more than QPR(d) Leeds(d) Cardiff(w) Middlesborough(d)?

Yes. QPR(d) Leeds(d) Cardiff(w) Middlesborough(w)....

Congratulations on your retirement Jonas.  I hope he is invited and has the time to do a lap of honour at the Hawthorns sometime very soon.  He was one of our best defenders in the premiership era.

Exactly that. Well said.

Still disagree, it's a confidence thing and if we kept that up other sides would not expect to turn us over.

That unbeaten thing is a thing.

Don't want to sound too profound, but it is.

Keep on.

I'd be more than happy with a draw, they've been excellent to be fair to them.

We started to show a bit more about us towards the end of that half though so you never know....

Allowing them far too much space. No closing down. 2 good saves by Johnstone.

Absolute belters from Johnstone.

My dad died yesterday early hours.... hoping for a win for him x

I always thought his hangers on were the problem, moving abroad has hopefully put the distance between him and them and solved the problem. I wish him the best of luck in turning his life around.

Would be nice wouldn't it.

I'm with Oldbury and Tank. The original poster was just observing something IMHO. don't think for a minute there was any malice.

I think we have an honourable - and let's be honest probably unintentional - pioneering spirit for 'black' football (God I hate categories and labels).

But let it be recognised - the number of black players who are exceptional seems to be very much on the rise.

I don't know what it is but as a few have said it is blue and white and we are black and white or whatever I don't give a flying one.
