Does anyone know of a link to listen to Bomber on the web? Or will it be blocked for legal reasons again?

When they spend the sort of money that they have on players like N'Zonzi and Crouch, with their big wages too, I dont see how even Martinez or Rodgers could change Stoke into a footballing team  withought further serious investment. You just dont see Wilson and Wilkinson putting their foot on the ball or going on a run down the wings regardless of whos in charge

Trouble is that the investment that the board have made has landed them in a catch 22 situation. Do they gamble and spend another fortune on carpet football players and a new manager, or play it safe with Pulis and just survive every year. I think the whole style is getting stale, I know Stoke fans who dread even going on a Saturday at the minute but it takes a brave rich chairman to change it all any time soon

The most annoying part for me is that pundits justify it with this "well there's contact!" myth. Since when did contact warrant cheating?! Even if theres contact,it's either a foul or it isn't. Just because someone's arm is glancing your back doesn't mean you can throw yourself over with your arms in the air like youve been shot!

So glad justice was done but on another day it wont be. Just call it what it is,cheating!

Can really see us struggling to hit 40 points this season can't see where the next win is coming from most would argue it will be Sunderland at home but i just don't see it happening :(

You honestly think we wont manage 6 points in 13 games?? There's no way we'll fail to win another game all season. Of course we'll get 40 points I think some people are going over the top with the doom and gloom here, we're a decent side, I still think we'll finish top 10 which is a good season

And your point being?

We weren't 8th-12th when the run started so its irrelevant. What's getting on the managers back going to do to help us? I don't think he can do much more, I actually think he's the only one who has come out of the last month with any credit at all. He's obviously a top bloke. I think we'll beat Sunderland at home and give a good account of ourselves away at Chelsea.

I don't mean to aim this all at you, but generally speaking what can you do about a player driving himself down to London to try and force a move, or Mulumbu being in Africa, a host of injuries or Popov spitting at someone? It's a matter of time until we turn this around in my opinion and there's no need to get on Clarke's back

I couldn't believe it when I saw he was on 40k a week! With the injuries he had, on that kind of money and barely playing for 3 years straight, I think I'd probably go off the rails too!

Big waste, he probably would have been a big player for City and England if he could have stayed fit

« on: January 15, 2013, 12:00:00 AM »
I'm not worried at all, for 80 minutes we looked close to the team from earlier this year. It might have been down to the quality of opposition but our teams only going to get better as our first 11 gets back to fitness. If the back 4 had Yacob and Mulumbu protecting them instead of a tired Brunt and inexperienced Thorne I don't think we'd be talking about conceding late goals being an issue.

We're hanging onto 7th and I never dreamed I'd be saying  that in January, and if we can continue to hang onto it until Yacob,Popov,Pete and Mulumbu are back starting every game again I'm sure we'll soon forget about this stage of the season and enjoy ourselves again

Haven't thought about it that much today. I had work straight after the game so pretty much had the shift from hell, worst mood ever.

I think the best thing for me to do after such a game is ignore the internet for a few hours because i tend to get carried away in the doom and gloom. A few hours keeping busy and avoiding match of the day is a decent tonic for a bad result. At the risk of sounding arrogant there was only one premier league quality team on show yesterday,on another day Olsson wouldnt have made a rash challenge and we would have beat them by 3 or 4.

I'm sure when our squad is fit they ll pick up where they left off, still think we'll beat and villa

Gera injury sounds nasty, hope it isn't the knee again. Really feel for him  :(

Would have bought on Thomas but on comes Fortune

Don't think we've been that bad. Unlucky with the goal.

We're still in it. I can definitely see us nicking a goal and . Cheer up.

I agree, was pretty surprised to see how badly most people think we've played. Only 1-0 down, still in the game at half time, wasn't expecting that much after 45 minutes at Old Trafford.

Only takes one set piece to snatch something from this

Credit to Swansea, we were beat by the better team today. Hope we don't use the travelling as an excuse because they simply wanted it more on the day.

Odemwingie was really poor, cost us 2 goals by simply watching their left-back run past him and overlap for the assists, but Clarke must know that's a risk when he plays Pete on the right away from home on a cold Swansea night! I thought Brunt was also very very wasteful and gave the ball away far too often when the pass was simple, the game passed Mozza by, and for someone so big Lukaku needs to be holding the ball up better for me.

Still 4th, give me 8 hours sleep and I'll soon get over it, onto the next one!

Really exciting transfer, I wonder if he'll get straight into the starting line-up against Liverpool.
Odemwingie, Lukaku and Brunt on the left maybe? If utilized correctly Brunt's crosses to Lukaku could be the stuff dreams are made of!
We've got so many options now, all really promising. I guess it'll be Long/Lukaku and Rosenberg fighting it out for the main central striker role, with Odemwingie, Fortune, El Ghannassy, Brunt, Gera (Jesus, am i missing anyone?!  ;D ) fighting it out for the wider striker/winger role.

Really exciting time to be a Baggie

Sounds like the momentum from his run attacking the ball took him into the first row of the crowd!  ;D Must have been travelling at some pace!

Is Cox playing on right midfield? If so, I can't help but think his place should have gone to a youth player

If an offer has been accepted from Forest, why are we risking his fitness and denying a younger prospect such as Roofe or Allan a chance to start?

I think there's a few teams with the potential to be caught out, and Stoke have done little to no business so far this summer. Normally have enough spending to keep them up, but it's rarely the 3 teams you really expect should get relegated who actually do

I don't like their fans, but I think McDermott is a decent manager and it's a well run club.

If you go on the Shane Long fan page on Facebook its just full of Reading fans speculating how Shane misses Reading and is going to be back soon. Quite sad really, they hated the fact that Long was behind Odemwingie in the pecking order last season, seem convinced that Long is a world beater and a Royal no matter what! When he was out the team, their fans were slating us and telling their golden-boy Long to come back "home", and when he's in the team and scoring they were all celebrating like he was still theirs!

I'd love nothing more than him to score the winner at the Madejski next year...  ;D

I've got it on Albion player too, sounds like a typically dull pre-season game really. James Hurst being singled out for praise by Albion Player, wonder if he'll have any part to play in the first team next year..

Pretty average really, id rather have a design or colour with a bit of originality. Much prefer the home kit, real lack of imagination with this away kit but I never expected more than a standard addidas template really

Wasn't that long ago actually, living in Stoke at the time I got an invite from my best mate to go see Stoke v WBA... But in the Stoke end.

I went along, it was December 2007 and we got spanked 3-1, I'm pretty sure Fuller scored a hat-trick. That day will scar my memory forever!  :(
