We look vulnerable on every set piece. Our centre backs are all excellent headers of a football.

The vulnerability is entirely down to uncertainty over the goalkeeper.
They barely won a header against Wednesday ! E.g Whickams header  early on nobody near him . Still think if they know he’s staying on his line you set up accordingly and communication becomes vital .

All this he doesn’t command his box to me is overplayed. We had a keeper not that long ago who had a long career but if he was 2 yards off his line he needed a map to find his way back! Of more importance is communication as long as defenders know what is likely to happen it is up to them and the keeper to be good enough to deal with the problem !

Just seen the sending off on tv ,total joke the ref got conned by a player going down slower than the R rate ! Just a thought on set piece defending or lack of today having spen the afternoon fishing the ball out of the bushes in the garden with grandkids I just wonder how much the wind was affecting situations oh and their first goal was a big deflection !  ;D ;D ;D

Reading between the lines Nixon seems to be saying this isn’t the case . Have read somewhere that a deal was done between two companies with same major shareholder/ owner which considering the lack of income due to virus contained punitive interest charges and this was a more likely reason

Mcburnie, mcgoldrick,Sharp is not a strike force to make prem teams tremble despite Sheffield’s good season  and Robinson is below them in the pecking order. I may sign him but other options would need to be thoroughly explored as I don’t see him scoring enough goals to guarantee Prem survival should we get promoted

They took 4 points off us, so it would be a massive help. Won't happen though.
Don’t think it will happen either but was interested as to how it would impact on play off positions and relegation battle which has tightened up since restart. Assume if the worst happened only 2 teams would be relegated.

Administrators saying this morning there is a 75% chance they WILL finish the season . Anybody seen a table with their results wiped out (hope it doesn’t occur) ?

Don’t get too high , don’t beat yourselves up this is the Albion !!. Just a quick point whilst all the moaning about lack of goals a word of praise for the defence who regardless of personnel have conceded just 2 goals in the last 7 league games. Somebody’s doing something right on the training field !

Wigan placed in to administration.

Is that a 15 point deduction, which surely means  relegation?

Forget Wigan beating Brentford, that’s a kick in the teeth to the players after their recent form.
Don’t think deduction is that high maybe between 10 and 12 for first offence ?

Perhaps of more significance than where Leicester will play there next game is the admission from health secretary this morning that children are spreaders thus they are shutting schools down again from Thursday. Nothing wrong with that on its own but coming just a day after Education Sec. saying parents maybe fined if they don’t send kids back September it and thus by implication everything is hunky dory, increased bubble sizes etc.It must make parents , teachers etc start to wonder just how safe things really are

If he’s on a season long loan he wouldn’t be back to play for us perhaps ? As in play offs usually same w/e so couldn’t play both

Who?
As starters Livermore , Sawyers Krov, Harper ,Perrier’s all better than the pensioners and certainly no worse . Could also tinker e.g play 3 at the back with wing backs or even put Ajayi into holding roll

Struggling to watch more than 20 mins without wanting to go do something else. Without the passion of a crowd it seems totally false. Dubbed crowd, drinks breaks effectively Americanising it into 4 quarters extra subs ,none of these sit easy with me as at least one will be difficult to alter in more normal times

Amazing how many would play a knackered Charlie Austin, but not Brunt or Barry
Because there are better alternatives for Brunt and Barry

Has to be involved on Wednesday. We tried the other 2 central strikers and apart from a short spell 2nd half neither looked good enough. Make the chances and I think Charlie is much more likely to score

« on: June 27, 2020, 12:07:11 PM »
And I said , I would like him involved...but we have 290 wingers that is not the problem

The coach doesn’t know his best team
He’s scared to make the big calls
The midfield is too slow
The strikers are too isolated
Grosicki at 80% would improve the last 2

I wonder if it’s travel trouble . If he got back to Poland he would have to quarantine for 14 days on return at the mo

Doubt I'll bother with pubs for a while. Nothing to do with social distancing. Booking a table for a pub doesn't really do it for me, I like to come and go as I please. Spontaneity and a change of scenery make for better evenings. I acknowledge that won't be possible for a while and I understand why but the whole thing just sounds very sterile to me. Might as well drink at home as I've been doing since pre lockdown. As an aside it's probably only a matter of time before pubs start charging none refundable deposits for tables as a means of clawing back revenue. No ta.
Pretty much my feelings ,quite of a few of my pub apperances  tend to be spur of the moment jobbies which seem to be a no no
