Must have something about him if Valencia were interested, glad to see the club are starting to look at younger players to develop into the first team in 12 - 18 months, feels like there’s much more of a long term plan in place which let’s be honest hasn’t happened since Ashworth left the club.

Pay the money now and get it done, the bloke is absolutely top draw far too good for this league. Sporting Lisbon must have some unbelievable talent for them to be willing to let him leave.

Is see this team is following the time honoured Albion tradition of never making it easy for themselves.

Lack of a good Striker killed us tonight HRK & Ken were utterly useless, nothing stuck the 3 behind them are sublime especially Pereira, some of the football is brilliant we really lack that striker tonight.

I’m torn on this Leeds will try and dominate possession if this is the case I’d be tempted to start Harper over Perreira to give us more legs in midfield but you do loose Pereira’s ability on the ball and you want players who are comfortable whilst under pressure as they will press us high, I’d also be tempted to play Edwards over Phillips for his pace I’m not convinced Matty can play 3 games in a week either.

Just read an article that Leeds are very suspect from corners & set pieces so hopefully Semi & Bartley can cause them issues, would take a point now but also feel we could make a statement feel we are a better team this season than the one that rocked up there last season.

Pereira & Ferguson were outstanding today Bartley & Semi also a real dominant display of football, good team this is and you feel they are going to get better especially when Austin starts scoring and the best cb in the league last year comes back into the team.

That pass was never ever on god knows what Bartley thought he saw there, becoming a very tiresome broken record piddling about at the back and conceding

We have to be looking at a win to gather momentum and keep pace with the early runners and riders.

However I just can't shake the memory of October 21st 2003, West Bromwich Albion 0 v 1 Wimbledon (Joel 'Jobi' McAnuff 79 min).

We dominated possession but lacked any real cutting edge and probably wouldn't have scored if we were still playing them now.

Just one of those nights but almost sixteen years later and that memory is still there.

Into 'em Albion and COYB  8) .

I broke my arm playing football at school that day and convinced my mum i’d be alright to go up the Albion that night with a splint on my arm thinking the football would cheer me up. I remember it was cold and I was in a load of pain throughout the game still can’t believe we lost 1-0 to them. I think that night really made me a pessimistic Albion fan when you really want them to get a result they go and loose to bottom of the league at home, we must be stupid supporting them but wouldn’t change it for the world.

Like watching Pulis this is again, no movement, no attacking cohesiveness it needs changing.

I have a sneaky feeling we are going to go out and make a statement tomorrow, don’t get me wrong Fulham have probably the best team in the league but Parker is very much of the unknown I can see him coming unstuck against a good experienced manager like Slav.

Slavens had another 2 weeks with the players to drum into them, they all have another 2 weeks experience of training which each other & another 2 weeks for the likes of Austin & Pereira to get fit.

I think we could make abit of a statement tomorrow going down to Fulham, outdoing them tactically and coming away with a very impressive win ... mind it could be the several pints iv had tonight talking too and we’l probably get a tonking.

That Diangana goal is different class, Harvey Barnes at his best that is hopefully we see more of that in the upcoming games.

Pereira needs to start he has created more in 2 20 minute sub appearances than the rest of them have managed in 5 games. On the face of it not a bad result but this team is going to have to start been more ruthless and start winning games.

Some worrying trends going on with this team that needs putting right 23 - 24 shots 4 on target Saturday, tonight 19 shots 4 on target, defending for some of the goals this season has been piddle poor also the guy had the freedom of the Black Country to pick that shot out. There needs to be more cutting edge up top. Pereira looks a good player and linked up well with Krov. I think the international break will do this team well so they can learn each other’s games especially up top, thought Livermore had a superb game.

A yard off tonight very worrying with Austin on we still lack a cutting edge up top

I have no idea how the ref didn’t give a penalty for the foul on Furlong, brilliant first 10 minutes then fell off badly. Sawyers not having a great game again lost of pretty passing but fairly ineffective and really should be 1-0 down. I’d give Grady 10 mins in the second half then look to get Pereira on and see what he can do.

Pretty poor the last 10 minutes still no cutting edge upfront

Been saying it for a few years now I’d take James Maddison every day of the week over Grealish, he’l score & assist more than the greasy one this season whilst practically been 2 years younger. I’d also take McGinn over Grealish given the choice.

Another hot take (guess who is watching the footy this afternoon) Palace are bad seriously bad. Old slow and a team that is largely living off reputation.

I think Palace & Newcastle are going down this season. As much as a good manager Roy is I think these days players tune managers out after 1 1/2 years and I’d imagine Roy’s training sessions involve a lot of team shape drills etc. You saw at Albion how the players downed tools on Pulis clearly the’d had enough of repeating the same thing over and over I think the same will happen at Palace, the’l then try and hire a more forward thinking manager but don’t have the players to play that style of football, the summer recruitment looks very poor as well.

Refreshing to see the teams that have come up (Norwich & Sheffield United) really giving it a go, Norwich blew Newcastle away yesterday I think the’l both stop up (Sheffield United by the skin of their teeth) hopefully it’s a different story for Villa.

I’m not going to jump off a cliff just yet I think a front line of Austin, Phillips & Edwards / Pereira has that quality in the final 3rd that we are really missing at the moment. My big worry is the depth behind those 3 though as we know Phillips will miss 30% of the season and we’l do well to keep Austin fit all year as well.

Thought it was a strange decision to not have Ken on the bench tonight Burke isn’t a striker in a million years (not much of a winger either). Move on but we need the new signings to bed in quickly, we really should be looking to pick up 3 points Saturday.

Sensible to me and staggered people see it as a negative. He was many times excellent last season and I maintain had he been available for the play offs we may have seen off villa at villa park in the first leg

Absolutely people forgetting his form going into Christmas he was probably the best player at the club for a good 2 months ran the away game against Sheffield United. Be a good back up for Sawyers and i’d argue a better option than Livermore for when we play the teams that will turn up and put 10 men behind the ball and take a point.
