I think he’s stuffed his England chances for the time been, if your Southgate now there’s no way in hell you’d be picking greasy to be part of any tournament as he couldn’t be trusted not to break team rules and end up out on the sauce which would be picked up by the press & put on the front of every newspaper in the U.K

Not the brightest our Jack.

The wheels are starting to fall off over in old Aston, the best thing that could happen now is Smith gets the sack to be replaced by our Tone who subsequently takes them down and they end up a mid table championship side whilst enduring his football, it’s the least the seals deserve.

Not a great performance, we had some good opportunities but seemed to make the wrong pass or took too many touches and the opportunity was gone, think Grosicki deserves a start looked dangerous when he came on, Semi was absolutely superb at the back.

A good wake up call for Slav, Dowling & Jenkins tonight a good chunk of that starting 11 needs to be shifted on as they aren’t at the level needed to compete in the Premier League if we get there. I know it was a reserve team against a full strength Newcastle team but Bond, Bartley, maybe Gibbs, Brunt, Barry & Austin not good enough and need to be replaced with better quality if we go up.

Krov completely changed us he’s certainly someone I hope we can get a deal done for him although if Benfica demand north of £10 m I can’t see us paying it unless we can do another loan deal with a view to a permanent if we stay up (again provided we go up). Thought Harper played well especially having to do the work of 2 with Brunt & Barry behind him. Edwards looked threatening just needs to be a little bit more consistent feel he needs a loan away next season with a championship club where he is going to play week in week out.

Disappointing to go out of the cup focus on the league now Saturday is a big game we really need the 3 to stop another slide happening and keeping distance to 3rd.

Get them off bloody awful

Good finish but bloody awful defending, oh well if we go up most of this lot playing need sacking off Bartley, Gibbs, Brunt, Barry, Austin all not good enough for the Premier League

If we can keep this close until 60 minutes Krov needs to come on, Austin also showing why he doesn’t start over Kanu his link up play isn’t at the level needed.

Brunt & Barry look their age here

Strong Newcastle team with pace upfront, says something when Gayle can’t get into the team and he was probably our best player last season.

I think it just goes to show how poor the division is this season the fact that Preston are 6th, I get teams have off nights but they were utterly woeful, probably the easiest 3 points we’l get all season didn’t really get out of 2nd gear and should have won by 3 or 4 goals.

Can’t really fault any of them tonight very dominant display, having seen the replay of the red card again I think it’s a harsh decision only a yellow however I don’t think it made much difference we’d have still cruised home even if they had 11 on the pitch.

Should really be 3 or 4 up in this, still some panic in the back hopefully we put our foot on the ball second half and kill the game off with long spells of possession and a third goal, Robson Kanu for both goals were superb bits of play. Harper, Hegazi, Ajayi  & Townsend all been very good as has Pereira.

How does this guy keep thinking Pereira is Harper

Just seen a clip of the 3rd goal celebrations everyone is going nuts and Slav has Rakeem Harper pulled over to one side coaching him up, absolutely brilliant.

Don’t know what the Sawyers thing was all about very out of character, there’s criticism around him at the moment some of it valid, but let’s be honest he was playing at a ridiculous level at the start of the season he wasn’t going to maintain that level all year, the lads Albion through and through let’s give him some support.

He’s easily covered the most distance of any player on the pitch the past 2 games, I’ve been critical in the past his footballing skills aren’t the best but you can’t deny the bloke is leader who gives his absolute all every time he steps on the turf.

Miles the better team and should be winning, 2 hairy moments with corners whipped into the 6 yard area and the keeper rooted to the bloody line on both utterly woeful goalkeeping.

Not surprised he’s picked the same team I’d have maybe taken Sawyers out for Barry. Hopefully the back 4 have another strong showing defensively be good to have a settled defence.

Best performance for months that was, the back 4 were all superb & Sam did well with the little he had do do. Thought Livermore was brilliant won every 50/50 as was Hal & Krov. Big big win and performance with Leeds playing Brentford midweek & us playing Forrest next weekend we have a real chance of putting a gap between ourselves and the chasing pack.

Best half for sometime that, very impressed by Robinson seems a clever footballer. HRK brilliant that half as was Livermore, very pleased for Krov also seems a likeable bloke and has played well the past few games.

It might just be that Bilic wanted a bit more height in the back four to settle the team down after a circus act of defending in recent weeks. I'm sure he will be back starting soon.

I also think the same but I’d argue Furlong is the best player we have in the air, he’s got a hell of a leap on him.

All about the result that and a clean sheet at home, the magic man is back next game and with the new signings available I’d hope we have a good week in training get ourselves on a winning run

Looks like Luton coming back into this, I have no faith in us keeping a clean sheet.
