West Bromwich Albion FC / If Roy Goes Our Team Will Deplete.
« on: April 30, 2012, 01:59:26 PM »
Ok guys,
So I know all of you have heard about Roy and the England Job...so heres my take on it.
Olsson says he might leave to a club like Villa or Fulham
Tchoyi Will probably go due to lack of game time.
Odemwingie is still a little shifty...touch and go.
Long is VERY cosy with Reading manager, chairman etc (He sat and ate with them for the promtion celebratory dinner!)
Cox is probably fed up at the mo too....due to lack of game time.
Oh and FOSTER!! speaks highly of Roy and will probably go if Roy does.

Ps...final word on Long, The only reason he came to west brom is because we were in the premier league. Obviously he still loves reading..and now they're in the PL whats keeping him here.??

West Bromwich Albion FC / This Time Last Year!
« on: March 05, 2012, 07:27:12 PM »
Just thought I'd mention this out of interest, and to highlight our boy's amazing progress.
This time last year:
McAuley- Was playing for Ipswich town, at the weekend he scored the winner against chelsea.
Fortune- Was looking for club to which he could be shipped out to, at the moment, he's awsome.
Morrison- Was struggling to get into the first team, with Paul, Mulumbu Brunt and Thomas dominating midfield.

Worth a thought.

West Bromwich Albion FC / What Inspires Players?
« on: February 28, 2012, 12:30:20 PM »
Hello Baggies,
I think I speak for every wba fan, when I say that our last two performances have been particularly awsome. Pace, agility, vision and passion have all been re-injected back into the sqaud.
I was just wondering what people thought influenced this change. I think it's probably confidance, coming off the back of a 5-1 dingle victory. However I think the atmsophere could have also played a part.
What do you all think?

(Also If people feel that the girl singing was a good omen, well expect some more results, as last night on Midlands Today she was interviewed and both she and the news programme hinted at her performing again vs Chelsea)

Cheers, Mulumbuman

West Bromwich Albion FC / Drawings.
« on: January 24, 2012, 08:36:33 AM »
Hello all.

I simply wanted and ideas or brainwaves on how I could use my drawings to really honour the bomber.
You know, t-shirts, draw him and send to the club to be put in a programme etc...anything.
It would be an honour to draw the bomber himself, and I'm sure any of these ideas would be a thoughtful way to hounour the bomber!

West Bromwich Albion FC / Tchoyi Happy Here?
« on: January 23, 2012, 01:50:40 PM »
Hello all..

Please take a look at this video, its highlights from the stoke game.
Look at tchoyi's reaction to the dorrans goal on the 2nd replay.  1.56-1.59
If I was enthusiastic and happy at the club, I would sure act a bit more excited than that. Away and local rivals and all that.
Hardley wears his heart on his sleave does he??

West Bromwich Albion FC / Why are we less direct this season?
« on: January 16, 2012, 10:30:13 AM »
Hello all
Last season we were consistantly playing THROUGH BALLS to Odemwignie and alike.
However this season we look so much less direct its a joke.

First we'll pass to Pete..who for some reason is almost holding hands with thomas on the wing...he'll then pass to thomas. Will thomas put a ball in??? No he'll pass back to Shorey and then from him to mulumbu, then to jara and so on...

What is up with this. Throught Balls are our key to success especially with two speedy striker long and Pete. LAST SEASON: remeber petes goals against blackpool at home, wigan at home, chelsea at home...all through balls and there is more.

Maybe its something to do with appleton leaving>
I don't know..but its so frustrating.

Comments and views please....

West Bromwich Albion FC / Hodgsons Subsitute Reluctancy.
« on: January 11, 2012, 11:35:30 AM »
Hi All...

I personally feel that Hodgson is a very good tactical manager...hence how he saved us last season.

However if there is one thing that frustrates me about him is that he is reluctant to make subsitutes...unless injuryies etc..
And even if he does its always near the end of the match
i.e Tchoyi 84th minute / Jara 87th minute.

Personally I cant see the point in this at all...fresh legs make an impact...FACT..... Well unless its Giles Barnes  :P

West Bromwich Albion FC / Play best against attacking teams?
« on: January 11, 2012, 08:45:35 AM »
Hello fellow baggies...

This season so far I personally have come to this conclusion...
We as a team, play so much better when we play teams that come to the Hawthorns looking to attack.
I find that when they sitback...so do we.

However when the away team is up for...as I am sure Norwich will be....its a much better game.
And we function much better as a unit...

Whats your views...?

West Bromwich Albion FC / January A Crucial Month?
« on: January 06, 2012, 09:17:50 AM »

I believe that this January is one of the most important ever at WBA...
I thought that this season we were doing quite well and would stay up...however these injuries have shook the team up.
This january there are two options...spend and loan decent players we need to do the job...to compansate for injurie i.e Brunt etc...
Or Hodgson won't spend much, and purchase poor players...
This January could shape the rest of our season. IMO.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Players Matchday Arrival?
« on: November 24, 2011, 07:06:05 PM »
Hi baggie fans!

I was wondering if any of you know what time the players start to arrive on match day at the hawthorns.
I know where the car park is and everything.

Last week I arrived at the hawthorns at around 11am, however the players cars were already there!?

Its because I wanted to get some of my drawings signed if possible.

Any help would be great.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Zoltan Gera Ruled Out For Season
« on: November 21, 2011, 10:56:41 AM »
I have to say considering his age, and his lack of first team action in the past year or so..I was skeptical about Gera. I was skeptical about whether or not we'll even actually see him play.
But I have to say on Saturday he marked his return with one of the best performances of any player I have ever see at the Hawthorns in my opinion.

His determination, ability and vision were still present in his game.

And I believe he should become a consistant first teamer. As I am sure he will.

What do you all think?

West Bromwich Albion FC / What do you think?
« on: November 03, 2011, 09:14:55 AM »
Hello all.
I am an a-level art student and I have drawn many west brom players.
I was thinking if i was to enter the hawthorns with a folder with them on match day...(if i was allowed to enter)
If i went down to the pitch before the game when they are training would they let me get them signed by the players.?

What do you think..I just need a second opinion!  :)

West Bromwich Albion FC / Ishmael Miller
« on: July 20, 2011, 07:13:52 PM »
I have got a forever growing feeling that Miller will be of substantial benefit to us in this upcoming season...a sort of pheonix from the flame like style..

anyone agree...

West Bromwich Albion FC / Two birds with one stone
« on: July 20, 2011, 06:57:58 PM »

Am I being thick..I have only JUST realized that we as a team could kill two birds with one stone...
With Dorrans returning to the scene this season we can slot him straight into the team without removing anyone!
Because Meite has moved on... Scharner could fill his shoes in the CB position..a position his is comfortable and has experiece playing in for Wigan and other ex-teams.
We could then put Dorrans into his position alongside Mulumbu.

Is this a good idea or would everyone want to see new face for these two positions..?

West Bromwich Albion FC / Facebook West Brom Art
« on: May 26, 2011, 01:28:23 PM »
Hi all,
For those of you who showed interest in my wba art, its now on facebook....  :)
Just search Liam Allibone Art on facebook!

( By the way admin, I deleted the whole of the last art topic, just so you haven't got to move this again! Sorry about last time.... ::)  )

As I am sure you are all aware, most footballers agents have a minimum of 10% of a transfer fee if the move is succsessful. Which obviously could cost us as their greed will push them to persuade their clients to move.
Will players like Pete for example show loyalty, (I think he will) or will they be persuaded by their agents?
What do you all think!

West Bromwich Albion FC / 7 out of 9
« on: April 11, 2011, 11:23:48 AM »
We have gained seven points out of a possible nine even after playing Arsenal, Liverpool and Sunderland away!
I think around 42 points will be enough to keep us up, just because of the amount of games the bottom teams have to play against each other!
So if we beat Chelsea, well!
Just imagine what the atmosphere will be like at the hawthorns on saturday!

West Bromwich Albion FC / West Brom a big value adder!?
« on: April 08, 2011, 05:07:33 PM »

West Bromwich Albion FC / Wba emblem to change??
« on: March 21, 2011, 09:25:41 AM »
I've heard some on here saying that we are planning to change our club emblem next year, I know that our kit could be made by addidas next season, but will our emblem change?
Can anyone clear it up for me???

West Bromwich Albion FC / Why is it so hard to see!??
« on: March 21, 2011, 09:20:23 AM »
Why is it so hard to see that we defend best when we are attakcing.
For example, against west ham when we were attacking they didn't even come close to scoring, until we tried to defend the lead.
When we try to defend the lead, all of our player just stand on the egde of the box waiting for others to tackle for them.
When we pushed for the secong on saturday, arsenal were'nt creating, until however we tried to defend.
The old cliche is true then in our case , the best defense is a good offense.!

West Bromwich Albion FC / Bring Back Liquidator?...
« on: March 01, 2011, 07:16:00 PM »
Would you want the Liquidator Back?..

West Bromwich Albion FC / Last Night Strength Approach.....
« on: March 01, 2011, 06:39:05 PM »
Last Night I feel that Roy went with the strength approach playing Reid rather than Jara and Meite instead of Tamas and Scharner and Mulumbu in midfield. All strong players. And it worked.
Will that be hi approach for the rest of the season

West Bromwich Albion FC / Realistic chance of staying up!?
« on: February 25, 2011, 11:28:30 AM »
OK here it is, we have 11 games left they are:
Stoke, Birmingham, Arsenal, Liverpool, Sunderland, Chelsea, Tottenham, Villa, Wolves Everton and Newcastle.
What chance do you all think we have of stating up?
We are 17Th, we have 27 Pt's, 13Th only have 31 Pt's, Fulham.
If we win on Monday and results go our way we could advance well up the table.
However its so close that if we lose and results go against us we could go bottom!
OMG, its going to be close, what do you all think?
