Playing a blinder by creating such a scene in a team meeting post Celtic that he's been suspended for three weeks.

Lovely deflection of the fact he made a total backside of himself with his pre game comments towards Scott Brown, when in reality Brown didn't even need to leave first gear to make him look like the over the hill irrelevance he really is.

Now we know why he left Burnley - because he knows he's not up to it. Thick people are lethal when they think they're clever.

After the deflation of last night settles I've tried to get a perspective on what we've got until January.....

Foster, Myhill, Rose

Conclusion - No issues.

RB - Dawson, Nyom
LB - Galloway, Wilson (Brunt)
CH - Evans, Olsson, McAuley, (Dawson)

Conclusion - No issues, a proper LB and Evans returning to the centre, where he is one of the best in the PL, is a step forward. Improved and solid with a the addition of two pacey full back options.

LM - McClean, McMannaman (Brunt)
RM - Phillips, Leko
CM - Fletcher, Yacob, Gardner, Field, Chadli, Morrisson

Conclusion - I'm actually quite happy with this pot albeit the weak point is on the left where we have the inconsistent McClean, a seemingly outcast C Mac and a hopefully returning Brunt. Phillips & Leko provide two good options out wide along with the returning Morrisson in the centre (hope he gets back to previous standards), the emerging Field who will need to be used sparingly and the jewel in the crown, Chadli, who can play anywhere across the park.

Rondon, Robson-Kanu, Berahino

Conclusion - This is where we've let ourselves down badly with any injury to Rondon whatsoever being a total disaster.

Saido, i tear my hair out with having a player who feels like the footballing equivalent of having a large turd stuck in the bog, it's a case of hoping he now realises he's embarking on a 9 month job interview that will define his career and gets his game to somewhere near his natural talent deserves, I've made my personal feelings on him very clear but now is not the time to barrack him on the pitch - he's here and if he's got half a brain he'll get stuck in and show the world what he can do, if he does that i won't begrudge him his free transfer.

Robson-Kanu, i know very little of him and his club career is fairly mediocre although he did impress me in the Euro's with Wales where he worked like a dog to drag defenders around the pitch to create space for others, maybe this is something that Rondon & Chadli could exploit? My overall feeling is that he doesn't really have to do too much to outperform Lambert & Big Vic's contribution last season (working legs and one goal). Again, he's not my idea of a player i think we should be bringing in, but he's here so i hope he does well and will get my full support.

Compared to last season we've improved the defence & midfield, especially on the flanks and that will provide us with far more natural balance, somthing that was a major issue last season.  I'm not concerned about the defence but i do have issues with the pairing of Fletcher & Yacob in midfield along with a weak left sided selection. I simply cannot wait to see Chadli play, he is the one i'm pinning my hopes on. Releasing Sess was a mistake, he'd have been a useful member of the squad (is he fixed up yet?).

Up front, we've left ourselves woefully short and it is completely needless, we are an injury from Rondon away from a crisis here - Robson Kanu is an unknown quantity and i don't trust Berahino to be professional enough to do anything for us. This is where the club have screwed up badly.

This window is reminiscent of other previous ones, it absolutely reeks of Mark Jenkins and i'm overwhelmingly frustrated that the takeover is still shrouded in mystery with nobody really sure who is running the club. My hopes for the season are that we've done enough to pick up a decent amount of points until January, at which point the ownership structure will be sorted and running the club with a different approach that will enable us to get, at the very least, a left sided player and one or even two more strikers.

Pulis gets the majority of the stick, but i think he'll be more inebriated off than anyone today with people far higher up needing to answer questions as to why we've seemingly failed to learn the lessons that nearly relegated us three seasons ago.

3 relation to TP's selections, tactics or subs I'm quite likely to put my head through the nearest wall.

Irvine was pilloried because he didn't have a bloody clue - he was totally inconsistent in his approach, couldn't motivate his players, constantly picked out of form players and failed to make decisive changes in reaction to what the opposition were doing which led to us chucking away points time and time again. Irvine was disliked because he did nothing other than live up to what fans of his previous clubs warned us about.

Pulis won't get pillared for any of the above because the team will always be motivated, always compete and always be set up with a clear plan in mind.

And if people think January signings will be long term ones they are, again, mistaken. Before we can plan for the next premiership season we have to stay up, the timings involved mean we need quick, instant fixes that will slot straight into the team. Players like Walters ETC fit this bill - no frills, work their balls off and get the job done.

Let's get that straight right now.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Poppy Shirts
« on: November 10, 2013, 08:27:26 PM »
I hope the morons sending Brunty abusive tweets for not wearing a poppy on his shirt realise the following:

1. He did but is one of several players who like to change tops at half time, so you look like fools.

2. Im sure the qui a year you most likely contribute will carry on the appeals good work when all of the matchday collections and shirt auctions stop because of people abusing and threatening playera who are presumed to not conform.

3. By trying to force it on people you are doing exactly what our heros faught against.

Shamefull behaviour and its pathetic one of our most loyal servsnts and club captain has had to justify himself.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Healthy season stats after 10 games......
« on: November 03, 2013, 09:27:33 AM »
13 points from 10 games.

1.3 Points per game.

Averaged over 38 games = APPX 49 points.

Minimum pre new year target of 20 points so we need 7 more in 9 games - 0.77 points per game.

Obviously lots of things can happen to bugger up stats, but its looking encouraging.

So why were the above left out and in two cases not even used?

1. Daniels has waited 8 years and done well in his first game and a bit yet is dropped straight to the bench again. Why?

2. Ridgewell has been playing like a greased up clown for months and was abject yesterday. Nearly every goal we concede comes from his zone. Popov did well in the week and showed on several occasions that he is a better player than Ridgewell. Why?

3. Chris Brunt is stuck on the bench without a look in, we were crying out for a bit of creation, summed up by Anelka having to come back to his own centre halves to get the ball. The one player we have who can pick a pass and make something happen is Brunt yet he was ignored completely. Why?

4. Beahino scored a hat trick in the week, has bags of talent and the pace and trickery we obviously need to compliment Sinclair and Anelka. So what does Clarke do? Shoehorns a woefully out of form Long into a wide role.

Re Daniels, Popov & Berahino I feel Clarke bottled it. Re Brunt, I simply don't get what he's doing. I'm not saying he should be fired, but despite the transfer situation being far from ideal/complete he failed to do his job yesterday - picking the most in form players in their most effective positions is the most basic of basics.

West Bromwich Albion FC / If you can't beat them..........
« on: December 10, 2012, 09:27:27 AM »
.....join them.

I for one now expect each of our players to be instructed to go down everytime there is even the slightest chance of conning the ref. Long was booked for being fouled at Sunderland so what is the point?

The line in the sand has been drawn - Wenger didn't zee it, the ref let it ride and gave the penalty and nothing will be done to sort it out......screw it, lets do exactly the same.

I've decided that its time for me to step down as a mod, mainly because of work commitments taking their toll (two long haul overseas trips in a month etc).

Just a quick thank you from me to all members for their help and understanding during my time on the team, its been a pleasure.

Don't take the admin/mods for granted, they are a commited and loyal bunch who work hard to provide this great site for us and deserve respect - every decision is made for a reason.

In the aftermath of their dicking at City there is a lot of crying about big money owners and others not being able to compete.

Now both of the above were creaming when lerner came and they all thought he was an open cheque book, they didn't mind avoiding relegation via the owner buying them bent so the relegated teams couldn't compete, so what's changed?

The hypocricy and arrogance of both organisations disgust me.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Gareth McAuley
« on: September 01, 2011, 07:55:04 AM »
I know he's already been written off by some of the scouts on here, but during the summer Hodgson stated Mcauley was his choice.

He's also been very ill in pre season and is still getting up to speed so maybe he is Roys first choice but he's had to play Tamas out of neccesity?

Just another angle.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Hodgson's Fulham Defence
« on: August 31, 2011, 10:00:29 PM »
Europa League Final:

One top quality defender (Olsson) and three lower quality but very well drilled and organised players carrying out simple tasks.

Maybe everyone was convinced everything was down to Carson and replacing him would fix it all? I simply cannot believe we have lumbered through the summer and ended up stuck with the same dross pool of defenders who were here last season.

Its a criminal sick joke and one that leaves us in a very poor position and culminated in todays absoloute desolation and feeling of total grief.

Shorey has lost the plot and cannot keep a position, he looks scared to death on the ball. Tamas is a ticking bomb as proven today. Reid is good until he's against pace or gets injured. Pablo has vanished. Dawson, Jones and Mcauley-who knows?

We have a week, the money is there. Do nothing and my season ticket is my last.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Squad depth - how are people feeling?
« on: August 03, 2011, 11:07:10 AM »
Personally im getting more and more positive about the depth of our squad, especially with regards to midfield and if we get Kirkland the goalkeeping department.

Just a striker and centre half left for me and we will have two pretty decent XI's to choose from....

2nd XI

Either of those options are fairly competitive when you consider we have two capable players in most areas.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Your end of season report...
« on: May 23, 2011, 09:53:08 AM »
1. Scott Carson: 6/10
Some very good games and some bad ones, was a major part of the run in with great displays against Liverpool, Villa, Everton and avoided a cricket score at wolves. Remained dignified in the face of some regrettable stick.

Stay or go? Stay, but needs expirienced competition.

2. Joe Mattock: 0/10
A gamble that didn't pay off, we have bypassed him.
Stay or go? Go.

3. Jonas Olsson: 8/10
A solid player who has grown up this season, hampered by the chaos around him.
Stay or go? Stay, the defence needs o be built around him.

4. Marek Cech: 4/10
Three years here and never managed to make the shirt his. Inconsistant.
Stay or go: Go.

5. Somen Tchoyi: 7/10
Infuriating, lazy, skillfull, unplayable. A real enigma and a pleasure to watch.
Stay or go: stay, the ideal super sub.

6. Pablo Ibanez: 5/10
Never put a foot wrong on the pitch but somthing just hasn't gone right.
Stay or go? Stay, hopefully next season will see him settle and unlock that pedigree.

7. James Morrisson: 7/10
Capable of great goals but doesn't fit out wide and is too weak for the centre. At a real crossroads.
Stay or go? Stay, a prem player.

8. Giles Barnes: 2/10
Injury has robbed him of his career.
Stay or go: Needs to go and get football somewhere.

9. Roman Bednar: 2/10
All mouth no ability, we have bypassed him.

10. Ishmael Miller: 4/10
Will he ever get back to pre injury form? Roy seems to have faith as he's used him fairly often.
Stay or go? Season long loan, last chance saloon.

11. Chris Brunt: 9/10
Makes us tick, the centre of our team and scorer of spectacular goals.
Stay or go? Keeping him is a must.

12. Steven Reid 8/10
Woefully underused by RDM our revival started with his inclusion.
Stay or go? Stay but we need cover as his body is at its limit.

13. Boaz Myhill: 5/10
Not the player I thought we were getting, I realli hoped hed challenge for the shirt more.
Stay or go? Go, we need more competition which he hasn't provided.

14. Jerome Thomas: 7/10
Either sublime or anonymous. Display of the season at home to liverpool and arsenal.
Stay or go? Stay, but workrate needs to improve.

17. Graham Dorrans: 6\10
Such promise but either out of position or injured. Some very good games, blues at home and west ham spring to mind.
Stay or go? Stay, will be like a new signing.

18. Carlos Vela: 6/10
Disaponting overall but two massive goals.
Stay or go? Hell leave england imo.

20. Nicky Shorey: 7/10
A good left back but part of an awful defence.
Stay or go? Stay but needs cech to be replaced with worthwile competition.

21. Yousuff Mulumbu: 10/10
A revelation - capable of being as good as he wants to be.
Stay or go: sign him up jezza.

22: Gianni Zuiverloon: 4/10
Did okay when called upon but never put in a case for a place.
Stay or go? Go, another one who stood still and got passed by.

23: Abdoulaye Meite: 5/10
Helped keep us up but reverted to type of late.
Stay or go: Go, just too error prone. An expensive disaster.

24: Peter Odemwingie: 10/10
Awesome, the keynote signing who scored and created the goals that kept us up.
Stay or go? Imperitive he stays.

26. James Hurst: 5/10
Good game at fulham.
Stay or go? Need to keep developing this talented but high maintainence player.

28. Marc Antoine Fortune: 6/10
Played a part closing out games and scored two vital goals vs fulham and wigan.
Stay or go? An option but I feel he will be replaced.

30. Gabriel Tamas: 5/10
All looks good and then bang, an error. Played well vs Everton.
Stay or go? Stay as a squad player.

31: Simon Cox: 6/10
Flourished under Roy, goal of the season.
Stay or go? Stay, whatt he lacks in ability he makes up for with workrate and determination.

33. Paul Scharner: 8/10
Got stick early on but when he's not there we miss him badly.
Stay or go? Stay, seems to have found a home.

36. Gonzalo Jara: 5/10
Shaky at best, not an option at full back.
Stay or go? Stay as midfield cover.

Anyone seen this? What the hell is with that pitch?

West Bromwich Albion FC / The Supporters Club
« on: May 17, 2011, 09:22:29 AM »
After noting that wolves have a democratically elected fans parliament who take questions from fans via boards, email and post and get answers from Moxey in a monthly meeting I got thinking...

1. Do you feel the supporters club represents you as a fan?

2. Do you find the supporters club accessable or do you think its just the same small group of people insularly sharing out the same roles year upon year?

3. Is it time a pro active, democratic fans representative panel liased with the club to help bridge the gap and get the often lacking club to fan PR going?

I feel as we grow this could be a great idea to keep everyone pulling together as a unit.

1. PIG failling to save Morrisons shot.
2. Gomez failling to save Cox's shot.
3. Minoulet failling to save Scharners shot.

Anyone else enjoying his demise and how quiet he's gone?

All of the idol threats have also disappeared, he seems to have realised that he will need the blackpool job next season due to his one tactic being exposed.
