Any one know if there was a particular reason for this?
I think there was clash with Mcmanaman that went against them and from that point they turned on him.

I do think Phillips would score 10-15 goals if played wide in a front three with a decent centre forward.

I think he’s talent but for whatever reason it’s just not working for him here, it’s probably best for both parties he moves on, if the club could find a bundesliga team to take him on a 2 year loan that may be beneficial, he has long enough left on his contract so that if he did succeed we could still command a fee for him.

The guys isn’t a centre forward and never will be, that last 20 odd minutes was a total waste, he seemed to start the second half well out wide and made some decent runs. Feel for him a bit as he never seems to get the chance across 90mins to stick in one position and get into a game. He needs a run of games out wide which he just won’t get with us as there’s too much quality ahead of him now.
He looks nervous and to be fair you can’t blame him, there’s thousands of fans sat in the crowd who are just waiting For him to make a mistake to jump on his back, you can hear the groans as soon as the ball starts travelling towards him, if he’d cost 3mil or had come through our academy I doubt he’d get half as much stick and would be given more time, his price tag isn’t his fault though.

absolute disgrace from a so called fan
hardly, it’s a paying customer voicing an opinion with a bit of humour, there was a similar chant about bobby Zamora years ago. Being a fan doesn’t mean you have to sit a celebrate mediocrity, on initial showing the guy hasn’t justified anywhere near his fee and paying customers have every right to voice an opinion on it, if you paid for a meal and you’re waiter was crap you’d tell the manager, why is football different to any other industry that you must be positive about your team 100% of the time?

Any chance we get I'd sell Leko. Same goes for Wilson, Melbourne, Fitzwater (once Hegazi is fit). None of them are going to make it and you can take that to the bank.

Plus Robson-Kanu / Phillips go into last year of their contracts. I'd sell HRK if a lower league club makes an offer. Phillips is still too good for lower leagues, I fear we will lose him for nothing next year but that's a smack on the chin we're just going to have to take. Blow maybe soften somewhat with the signing of Pereira who may well become permanent.
I don’t think it’s a case of they won’t make it, it’s a case if they won’t get the opportunities to play here because of the quality ahead of them, they need to go elsewhere to progress their careers, much like sawyers did

The next Scot Carson, people will destroy any bit of confidence the lad may have by jumping on any error he makes and slaughtering him, the guy must be on edge constantly. He’s being compared to a bloke 10 years older than him. When foster was Johnstone’s age he’s getting slated for making numerous errors himself but everyone seems to have forgotten that. Give the lad a chance, stop getting on his back at every opportunity and see how he grows.

This news coming out today about Gayle possibly coming back is great, but I’m not sure how I’d feel if re-signing him on loan would prevent us possibly signing a goal scorer permanently

Krovinovic, Sawyers and Ferguson have all looked very good for me. Ferguson very impressive for 18 and making his pro debut.

Seems very strange but a lot of fans seem to be massively over reacting on twitter, if anything it looks like he’s been hacked by a Celtic fan, there’s no photos or anything that link him to us by like wise there’s nothing from his time at Forest or Leipzig

Depends if it’s an option or obligation to buy, I can’t imagine the club going for an 8mil obligation to buy just incase he flops

Reminds me of Ish Miller. Should be a decent signing.
my thoughts exactly when I saw his highlights, pacey, powerful, maybe not a natural finisher and predominantly left footed.

Wouldn't surprise me if he walks god knows what bull his been sold.
I’m pretty sure he would have been well aware of Rodriguez release clause, there hasn’t been an unexpected departure at all yet.

8mil for a 16year old who no one knows how he will develop is a good deal for us I think, I’d imagine it contains a sell on clause too hopefully.

By the look of the article as it’s an English team we can negotiate a fee, it seems as if this may be the club looking to make some more transfer funds

Looks like Man City are after him and the two clubs are negotiating a fee for him if the daily mail report is to be believed

Another greedy biighter who has no loyalty to club, couldn't give a monkeys what he does with his career.
As I’ve said earlier, why does he owe the club anything? What about all the kids that the club have cast off because they weren’t good enough? Do the club owe them anything?

15 and nowhere near the first team. £1.5k per week max.
there’s professionals playing league football earning less than that, kids expecting it is ridiculous.

On a different note, as fans we always moan at players jumping ship as if they owe the club anything, yet had he not made it he’d have cast aside by the club with no second thought

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Louie Barry

I don’t blame the kid at all, most players would jump at the opportunity to play for the clubs interested, the opportunity to play for some of the bigger clubs in the world, earning great money, the opportunity to live in the likes of Barcelona, Paris etc over Birmingham and Sandwell etc. The issue is with the system that allows the big overseas clubs to just cherry pick the best talent for basically nothing.

21
Do we know if we have an option to buy on this, if he does end up doing well it would be nice to already have something in place.

Not seen anything of him but really but from what I’ve read he sounds promising, I hope the club have negotiated a deal to purchase if the loan goes well

I can only assume he’s left at his own accord to chase other opportunities.

We have a fairly awful track record with bringing players through to the first team. Harper wasn't given a game until January. Sam Field has been given the odd game but not a decent run. Leko and co weren't played much even in the league cup. All the other players who have left and made a success of their career (Roofe, now worth £15m plus, Sawyers etc) weren't even given a single game and left to play football. So were not a big club (and shrinking by the week) yet we haven't brought players through to the first team either - I'm not surprised that young players on mass are wary of signing on, we have a poor track record. We talk a much better game than we deliver.
the likes sawyers and roofs weren’t given game time because they weren’t anywhere near the level we were at when they were here, they went to league 1 and 2 clubs when they left now they’ve developed and we have stepped back they are at a similar level, neither would be first choice starters if they were still here now, both have developed a lot since leaving but we can’t hold on to players for years in they hope they might develop, Chris wood is another who wasnt good enough but has developed since leavingg . Leko has shown when he had played that he isn’t good enough, he couldnt get a game on loan at Bristol in the end, the only players that should have had and probably deserved more game time were Field and Harper and arguably Edwards last season

Big no to hugill, 10mill, oxford and Byram I’d consider, Byram has massively tailed off after breaking Onto the scene but if we can get him playing at the level he was at he could be a decent signing
