West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Would you sell Peter Odemwingie
« on: July 21, 2012, 12:44:38 AM »
I think the only thing that can truly sort this out is Pete saying something along the lines of:

'I want to compete at the highest level possible and I'm truly happy at West Bromwich Albion. Also, money does not motivate me.'

In all reality, this probably isn't true. He's 31 and this is most likely his last chance at a big pay day, something that the vast majority on here simply cannot begrudge him if we were in his situation. Furthermore, should Pete want to move and were we to stand in his way then this would be detrimental to him, his effort and attitude on the pitch and more fundamentally it would be detrimental to West Bromwich Albion Football Club. Truly a sad reality of today's game. So yes, if the price is right and the player wants to leave I would reluctantly sell...

People saying that the club should offer an explanation as to why other candidates weren't approached/appointed are wrong...Clearly Clarke wasn't our first choice and he most likely knows this so it would be wrong to explain the reasons as to why the other four/five candidates weren't appointed!

Brilliant finish from Drogba for Chelsea, should be interesting. RDM's celebration made me laugh...

Ask Manu and Arsenal - this is not the way to build a team for the future. AVB needed to be given time. Wenger has arguable underachieved this season but his board stick by him. Liverpool also, IMO have underachieved but the board has stuck by Dalglish so far - the Carling Cup and Liverpool fans unwavering admiration of the guy have arguably been the reason for this. Abramovich obviously just sees Chelsea as a play thing. They'll never fulfil his dream of winning the Champions League is he continues in this way. The guy got rid of Mourinho FFS!

They dont count we beat them in the league cup.

as for Swansea, you could be right, i dont recall  beating them since the play off semis 93

Pretty sure we beat Swansea in the Champ under RDM...if I remember rightly it was Giles Barnes winning a pen against them?

Exactly!  ;D

Although that's an innovation the NFL hasn't considered, since I doubt there's ever been a manager who was consistently better away than at home. It's not exactly a prized quality.

Pretty sure Roy had a poor away record before he came to us, i.e. at Fulham

They reckon that HMRC have spent something like 7 million on this case. People high up in HMRC itself have something against football, one guy in particular, ever since the whole Pompey fiasco. Lower league clubs are constantly harassed for PAYE payments in general. HMRC obviously wanted to make an example of Redknapp and set a precedent that they will not be messed with. They're obviously failed, what a complete and utter waste of tax payer's money...

No way should the FA have gone above Capello's head, it completely undermimes his position and authority. However, no way should Terry even be in the squad, let alone as captain...he is an absolute scrotum of a man in my opinion.

I think that Hodgson is very much a glass half empty as opposed to a glass half full kind of guy...

He has scored for Doncaster again today.

Massive amount of respect for the Ipswich fans who clapped Sharp both when he scored and was substituted. Class acts, like to think Baggies fans would do the same in a similar situation

I will also credit Hodgson for what I reckon will prove to be one of the best value-for-money transfer deals done by a Premier League club this summer. In an age in which £20m can change hands with barely an eyebrow being raised, to pay less than £7m for Shane Long is a stroke of genius.

Interesting comment in the match preview. Hope he's right!!

Dick Dastardly - always start off well in the premier race but never quite gets there due to mismanagement and carelessness ;)

Would really like Arsenal to win this how ever I wouldn't begrudge SKP the winner!
