If the Duke is found out to have caused the accident, will he be prosecuted in the Queen's royal courts?

Behave, you know it won't be Phils fault

So part of next seasons parachute money looks like being spent this season?
Doesn't bode well for next season if we don't get promoted.

If anybody at Leicester decides to send him back out on loan, we're the only club he can join. You can only play for two clubs in a year / season.

I can't see that happening, would make Puel look a right twerp

The thing I liked most about him was that he didn't go charging around mad-headed. He kept the teams shape and used his energy in bursts to better effect.

I thought he did the first 20 minutes or so. He was trying too hard.
Once he relaxed a bit and the adreneline levels had gone back down he was finer

Anyone remember the Bill Wyman saga -

"On 2 June 1989, aged 52, Wyman married 18-year-old Mandy Smith, whom he had been dating since she was 13 and he was 47 years old. According to Smith, their relationship was sexually consummated when she was 14 years old. Their relationship was the subject of considerable media attention." - wikipedia.

Times change, he wasn't charged with anything! ....

Then there was Jerry Lee Lewis (who has been married seven times!!!):

"His first marriage, to Dorothy Barton, lasted for 20 months, from February 1952 to October 1953. Barton was 13 years old at the time of their marriage, and Lewis's first cousin.

His second marriage, to Jane Mitchum, was of dubious validity because it occurred 23 days before his divorce from Barton was final. It lasted for four years (September 1953 - October 1957). The couple had two children: Jerry Lee Lewis Jr. (1954–1973) and Ronnie Guy Lewis (b. 1956).

His third marriage, to then 13 year old Myra Gale Brown, was his first cousin once removed. Their marriage lasted 13 years (December 1957 - December 1970). The couple went through a second marriage ceremony because his divorce from Jane Mitchum was not complete before the first ceremony took place. They had two children together: Steve Allen Lewis (1959–1962) and Phoebe Allen Lewis (b. 1963).

His fourth marriage was to Jaren Elizabeth Gunn Pate (October 1971 - June 8, 1982). Pate drowned in a swimming pool at the home of a friend with whom she was staying, several weeks before divorce proceedings could be finalized. They had one daughter, Lori Lee Lewis (b. 1972).

His fifth marriage, to Shawn Stephens, lasted 77 days, from June to August 1983, ending with her death. Journalist Richard Ben Cramer alleged that Lewis abused her and may have been responsible for her death, but the allegations have never been verified." - wiki again.

I think Jerry Lee Lewis was addicted to wedding cake  ???

West Bromwich Albion FC / Warm weather training
« on: January 10, 2019, 06:36:21 AM »
Off to Dubai apparently after the Norwich game for a spot of warm weather training.
Hope the outcome is better than the last away gathering as I don't think the Dubai authorities are quite so easy going as their counterparts in Barcelona

It would be a good experiment to put out  strong-ish team against BHA to enable us to judge whether we're anywhere close to premiership standard. Always assuming that Brighton will put out a strong team - which I think they will because they're 10 points off the relegation zone and it's their one shot at an honour this season.

You shouldn't need to conduct an experiment to confirm the obvious.

I'd like to see us put out a stronger side than we put out against Wigan as I'd like a cup run and think we'd have a good chance against Brighton if we only make a few changes, so something like:

                           Holgate             Dawson                     Hegazi              Gibbs

                                      Phillips                  Field                   Harper

                                    Edwards                 Rodriguez            HRK

Subs: Myhill, Bartley, Adabarioyo, Brunt, Barry, Morrison, Gayle.

With regards to a cup run, what do others think would be acceptable; 5th round, Quarter finals, Semi's? Personally I'd like at least Quarter finals (depending on who we got in 5th round) as long as it doesn't derail our promotion push but then again I'd genuinely settle for us lifting the cup and missing out on promotion.

Me too, its our only genuine chance of lifting silverware. We're never going to win the Premier League

Has Punxsutawney Phil come out again?

His recall would depend I imagine on the incomings or outgoings at Leicester.
I'm not sure if they have the option to recall him at any time up to the deadline or if they have to give us 'notice'

Talk Sport computer has us down for a sixth place finish.
Leeds and Norwich selected as the two that go up.

(I put the Leeds one in as its as big, if not bigger then the others & only a couple days out)

West Bromwich Albion   - Middlesbrough               H Sat Feb 02 2019 15:00

Stoke City                    - West Bromwich Albion    A Sat Feb 09 2019 17:30

West Bromwich Albion   - Nottingham Forest         H Tue Feb 12 2019 20:00

Aston Villa                    - West Bromwich Albion    A Sat Feb 16 2019 15:00

West Bromwich Albion   - Sheffield United             H Sat Feb 23 2019 15:00

Leeds United                 - West Bromwich Albion   A Sat Mar 02 2019 15:00

I can't remember a month of matches with so much make or break, 1 big local derby & a couple of localish derbies but all 6 games that could directly affect the top 2 & play off places.

It'll be tough but I can't wait, bring it on.

I think we will come out of it with between 10-12 points (that prediction may change as we get towards the end of January  ;) )

I'd expect a couple of those to be re-scheduled for TV

Gave the old age pensioners a run bless and don't forget the Sunday league centre halve. Moore again costing us points with his team selection and BAFFIING use of bench.

Just a matter of time before Boiler Man makes an appearance Id say

Two points dropped by coach and his team selection and inability to rotate squad

There you have it, the squad isn't good enough to rotate.
The first eleven virtually picks itself when everyone is fit, the problem arises when we have enforced changes.
The weakness in this team is the bench.

Can see a couple of changes here, e.g. maybe Morrison to start, keep Barry for Blackburn.

I think there could be a couple of enforced changes.
Obviously Gayle, and Hegazi was struggling towards the end against Wigan.
Just hope we don't see Bartley back in the side
