If it was up to Jacko we'd have Chris Brunt playing CM next season...Blinkered is an understatement.

Livermore has been excellent this season and is up there as a contender for POTS in my opinion. Definitely capable of doing a job in the PL, particularly under the new instructions and new 433 formation.

Thought he was off the pace again today to be honest. Still our best option as the base of the 3 but would probably benefit from a spell out of the team.

Very good again today. Covering every blade of grass and keeping the ball effectively. He's carrying Sawyers at the moment.

God...that was bad. Really really bad. Too many changes from Bilic tonight. Ferguson was well of the pace. After praising him in another thread, Livermore was shocking. Highlights that the depth in the squad isn't as good as some people think. Lucky to get a point.

Both fullbacks, Ajayi, Sawyers, Diangana, Phillips and Robson-Kanu all better today. There were 5 first half minutes that summed Jake up. Had a chance to slip GD in and sent him miles wide. Then got ball stuck under his feet in the box, then blasted straight at the keeper unchallenged from 25 yards.

He's poor. I'd go as far as to say we carry him to an extent.

Quality performance from Jake again today. He effectively created Hal's goal with his pressure, winning the ball back in the middle of the park. Also played a big part in Pereira's goal by finding Diangana with a pass through the middle. Great work rate and quality on the ball.

Think we need to remember the level we're playing at.

I'm 1988 onwards and for me Koumas, Gera, Maresca, Odemwingie, Valero and Lukaku are all better players.

I'm sure I just read a post from you on a previous page of this thread saying he'd slot straight into the Liverpool team...ĺ

It's a valid point though. Dorrans was unreal for us at this level. Adel Taraabt was unayable for QPR a few years back. Pereira does look special though.

Ps. Valero - good player who's had a good career. Rubbish for us though.

He's been excellent all season to be fair. A changed man under Slaven.

Great transfer window. Fair play to all involved! We should be play offs at least this season.

Would have preferred Gayle but we desperately needed a goalscorer up front and Austin definitely fits the bill. Very happy with this one. He's a great finisher so you'd expect him to do well with the creative players we have around him.

Good result but a frustrating performance at times (like many others this season). Thought Stoke were there for the taking but our final ball let us down on too many occasions.

I’ll echo everybody else’s comments in saying that Dawson and Hegazi were both superb. Thought Holgage was very good also; he’s made a real difference since he’s come into the team. Barry ran the game in midfield even at the age of 38.

New boys did ok for me. Murphy did some decent things in the first half but was clearly struggling with injury for most of the second. Johanson was tidy and has a bit of culture in that left foot.

Great to think we have Brunt, Morrison, HRK and Phillips to come back into the squad. Think we are missing Phillips’ pace and directness and would personally play him in the front 3 when he returns.

Hate to agree with Jacko but thought JRod was really poor again. He’s offered us very little in too many games this season with his link up play and all round game lacking at times.

I thought that performance was shocking in all honesty. No tempo, no movement, sloppy was dreadful to watch. Sometimes I wonder how we’ve scored so many goals as we barely created a chance tonight.

Still, pleased with the win. Desperately need Phillips and Livermore back in the team and can’t help feel we lack width with the 3 CF shoe horned in up front. Gayle wasted out wide as well. Improvement all over the pitch required in the coming weeks.

Tosin                   Dawson            Bartley          Gibbs

                           Livermore       Morrison

Phillips                             J-Rod                     Barnes

The above given that Sako was pretty awful against Sheff Wed. Phillips has done really well in the middle but feel like his pace on the break could be useful.

Phillips Livermore Morrison in a 3

really worked for me

Thanks. Who played on which side in the front 3? HRK down the middle?

Couldn’t watch the game. Who played where in the midfield and front three? Was it a 442 or 443?

The difference between top 2 and playoff chasers. Absolutely deadly.

He’s done well and I like the fact he has a clear footballing philosophy and way of playing. Still lots of room for improvement. We’ve been unconvincing for large parts of the season and we’re far too open through the middle of the park. This needs to be addressed, as does the away performances.

Would like to see him be a bit more flexible with the formation and personnel away from home. I think the same attacking 3412 leaves us too open. Perhaps dropping one of the strikers for another midfielder would be worth a try with Barnes playing off either Gayle or J Rod.

He looks good in CM when he has time and space to pick a pass. Coming on when we’re leading and they were fatigued suited him. Definitely an asset but I wouldn’t play him ahead of Barry atm, especially away from home.

Desperately in need of a quality box to box midfield. Would take this team up another gear.

Feel a bit sorry for him. Miles out of his depth at wing back. Would probably do a job at RB but WB is probably one of the hardest positons to play. Made even harder when you’re 35, of limited ability going forward and have been playing a poor standard of football for the last few years. Hopefully the last we see of him in this position.

Please please get rid of this clown, regardless of the cost.

We've been down for while now but we need to inject some confidence and wins into this team in the remaining games of the season, otherwise the hangover into next season is going to be horrific. The run of form we're on at the moment and the way we are playing is an absolute joke.

The style of football is just appalling and if, anything, is getting worse. The board won't do anything as Pulis will keep us up but, despite being behind him for a long time, i want him gone now.

It's embarrassing watching us play at the moment. No enjoyment whatsoever.

I'd bring Phillips on for Rodriguez who is poor yet again.

Needs to play upfront tbf. Looked decent up there against Bournemouth. Got to be better than Rondon surely?!?

Absolute dross...again. Zero attacking intent.

Not sure how much longer i can put up with this. Just no enjoyment watching the games.

I'm a Pulis fan but not sure how much longer i can put up with the sort of football he's serving up. As others have said, we've got players with quality on the ball now yet he continues to set us up in the same way. The second half was absolutely dire yesterday. There can be no excuses for the way he set us up to defend the lead for almost the entire second half at home to Watford.

Just to add to my earlier post, I though Krychowiak was very good today. Starting to look like a real asset after a slow start. Gibbs also had a good game, especially first half.

We were shocking today. No other way to dress it up.

Aside from the 5 minute spell where we scored 2, Watford completely outplayed us. Pulis moving from a 4411/442 to a 451 with Rodriguez out wide second half absolutely killed us. No out ball, encamped in our own half, inviting pressure.

Defending leads for 45 minutes at home to Watford, time wasting from the 50th minute's painful to watch at times. Despite having better players at his disposal, i'm just not sure Pulis can play any other way. I was jealous watching Watford today. They have a cracking manager in Silva who wants to play the game the right way. I'm pro Pulis but he needs to take a long hard look at his approach to games, particularly at home.
