I thought Barry showed more solidity in the brief time he was on than Brunt has at any time in the centre. Has a decent pass on him as well which we're crying out for in the middle. Got to be demoralising for players when a coach puts a player out of position ahead of 4 natural central midfielders (Barry, Morrison, Harper, Field) and the player doesn't justify it.

The player does justify it though...

Brunt getting a rest last 15 mins of a game that was won. He won't be phased out of anything.  ;D

Not as good as they think they are are they  :-X

They all think they're going to beat City next week.

Going down.

An absolute battering delivered with pace and flair. Cheers Darren!  8)

If he’s fit a ready he has to be in the team over either Tosin or Hegazi, needs to be in the centre of the back 3 marshalling the back line.

Still be Bartley for me. Lost his man for the goal today again.

2 points a game normally gets you promoted out of this league and I wouldn't want to start falling behind the curve by too much. We are currently 1 point behind the curve but we look like we are now settling into our stride. Next 4 games and my predictions are:

Middlesborough (A) - Win, they haven't played anyone good yet and I really want to beat Pulisball with some dynamic football.
Stoke (H) - Draw, we all know how we do against Stoke more often than not.
Birmingham (A) - Draw, derby game and away from home.
Bristol City (H) - Win, the banker of the four.

That gives us 8 points and would probably see us 2nd or 3rd in the league after 8 games. I would be absolutely chuffed with that.

Interested on everybody else's predictions.

We'll win all 4.

It was a good result and I'm happy for him. Bet you're gutted you can't lay into Robson-Kanu seeing as he scored.

No mate, not remotely gutted...

See the D1ngle5 had another 40 minutes against 10 men...

Going down.

Team is out.

Brunt and Livermore in the centre, Gibbs over Townsend, and Tosin at right-back are all the wrong calls. Very disappointing.

Post of the day.

Is he playing badly?

No but we're not winning so it's all his fault...

What's Dave's unbeaten rate %?

80 percent

We've only lost 2 games under him (out of 10)

I'd go 3-5-2

Subs: Myhill, Dawson (if fit), Gibbs (if fit), Edwards, Burke, Field, Robson-Kanu

Think you're literally the ONLY Albion fan that has suggested leaving out Barnes. I'm guessing it's an oversight?

Just wondered if anyone's seen QPR play yet and has any idea what we're likely to be up against?

They've got a lad called Eze. Looks a prospect. Keep him quiet and we win imo.

no room for the bloke who scored twice last week seems harsh.

Maybe but I'd like a striker on the bench who isn't Hal Robson Kanu and in our current formation JRod is being played out of position.

Very much doubt the Luton game will have impacted Moore's immediate plan A, agree with Atomic's post in that respect and the line-up he expects.

Were it me I'd be looking to make a couple of changes:

subs: Myhill, Bartley/Dawson, Townsend, Livermore, Burke, Rodriguez, Edwards.

I got a completely different picture of Morrisons performance from the radio comontory,
i only heard his name mentioned twice in the 75 minutes i listened to the game & one being his shot on goal towards the end of the game' it  goes to show you can't believe all you hear.

Just sat deep his performance was much like the one Guediora put in against us for Forest. Obviously the opposition wasn't great.

I'm not sure that's necessarily the case I think he may have played centre back to fit the others in. Big Dave clearly didn't want to play Hegazi and Bartley for ninety minutes so with who we had available his hand seemed forced a little bit. Nyom wasn't going to play so we had no right back option with Tosin having to play at centre back so it was either wing backs or play someone out of position at right back.

Just a hunch. Morrison bossed midfield tonight.

I think that will do Sam good tonight gives him that bit more experience and understanding of a new position.

Needs to be in the first team now in midfield.

I think he's well down the pecking order. Below Livermore and Brunt and also Morrison and Harper hence him playing in defence tonight.

apparently played well at LCB today in a line of 3, which should be a good thing except I'm not convinced he has the size and body frame to actually be a full time CB so I have no clue what is being done with him.

Played really well 2nd half after a few teething problems first half.

Not sure it's a long term option against better sides though.

Thought that was superb management by Darren and his team. Showed more awareness than TP has in 4 seasons re League Cup ties against lower league opposition.

Trialled a different system, and made full use of his squad. Made sure he had firepower in the starting line up and on the bench in case things went wrong.

Very pleased.

Interesting how we normally complain when a manager doesn't take the cup seriously...

He took it seriously...

Thoroughly enjoyed that. Moore experimented with a different system and gave 90 minutes to nearly all the fringe players. Excellent management. Following on from my halftime comment Field was excellent 2nd half and Harper grew into the game. Mozza controlled everything.

Kanu though was woeful. Literally nothing stuck and he missed 3 absolute sitters and another presentable chance.

Albion Matchday Forum / Re: In Game Chat
« on: August 14, 2018, 08:56:39 PM »
Very sedate pace. That said Robson Kanu has missed 3 clear cut chances and virtually any other striker would now have a hattrick.

Field looking very poor in possession considering he's a centre midfielder and the game is passing Harper by. Adarabioyo looking only slightly less shaky as a centre back than he did as a right back.

352 Field left centre back.
