Maybe this is the straw that breaks the camels back. I remember when Roy Keane got 52K a week is when I started loosing faith in football at the highest level. That was when it was about 3x my salary/year god knows what it equates to now. I know its not necessarily the players fault ultimately and they have short careers etc etc it's the system that has mushroomed to these proportions we'll see

what about the pools panel - anybody remember them predicting results for the pools coupons when there were a few postponements - I'm sure they dreamt up a few anti bankers lol

"But I urge everyone to stay indoors and follow the guidelines and I know I'll be doing that in the near future now[/b]."
Maybe he means in a cell ;D

I remember Cyrille scoring a screamer in one of his first games if not his first against Rotherham in the League cup in a 4-0 win. I'm sure Clive Thomas was the ref that evening and even he applauded the goal.

It was probably that winter that killed us.  All those matches postponed broke our momentum. Also we were pipped to the title by probably one of the best Liverpool teams ever.  I was also gutted to lose second place on the last match and I think it was a late goal as well. I might not be correct on that last statement ( putting my memory under too pressure !!)
yes if I remember correctly 0-1 at home to Forest, late winner was it Trevor Francis?

The bomber should take all penalties even now!
I don't remember him missing one, suppose he must have done, but the best way to take a pen is like he used to,just blast it.
I seem to remember Peter Shilton saving one for Forest from Bomber in front of the Brummie, but tbf he didn't miss many

Sat in a crowded Wetherspoons, I've traipsed all round B&q this afternoon and watched numerous people leaving Lidl opposite my house today mostly armed with a purchase of 16+ toilet rolls and apparently the stereophonics are playing to a packed house at motor point arena Cardiff tonight indoors - what to make of it all?

If as seems probable, some games may be played behind closed doors, Birmingham & Brentford next up, how do we feel this will affect us and others in the mix. Is it the same for all or will some teams actually gain some advantage from it? I don't know if I can imagine playing a competitive game in a near empty stadium.

Swans fan at work impressed with our following, best of the season except for Cardiff. He reckons it wasn't a bad game, short on quality chances but at least both sides tried to play football.

To be fair, I'm only going to comment on the Newcastle match, which really didn't do Austin any favours and actually in my opinion made him look poor on the evening. Most of the time he was on the pitch we just seemed to lump balls up to him bypassing our aged midfield pairing, whereas he had nothing around him.
Whether he is the answer to our side, I'd say not as we need to progress with younger players, although that is easier said than done,

Different to the 1950' and 60's.
They were sorted out lodgings and nothing more.
Bobby Robson had lodgings in Copthorne Road Handsworth and finally bought a house there too.
Yes, Copthall Road, he was opposite my grand-parents house, my late father told me this story.

I understand making changes, but Brunt & Barry together in the midfield no matter what you think of them was never going to work - what was Slav thinking?
We weren't going to win the cup, Newcastle won't either based on that showing, not the best Newcastle team I've ever seen, but why oh why didn't we give it a go. I thought the younger guys did well, as did Krov. Need to step it up now, 10 big games coming up, starting with our visit to my neck of the woods.

Good old Dwight he didn't want to score against the Albion lol

We're going out, but with heads held high from our reserve team.
Too little too late unfortunately which just goes to show what could have been, the younger lads have done all right for me

Goes to show how poor Newcastle are if they're time wasting against our reserves lol

Let's be honest we were never going to win the cup, promotion is the aim I suppose, but Newcastle aren't the best side I've ever seen, we could of at least had a go to try and get to the next round. This has almost been like a preseason friendly.

Is Bond wearing SJs gloves

Keystone kops style defending - thats another one for the old uns & mother Riley lol

Seven Albion players in the box when they scored the second.
We got no chance of linking midfield to attack with this line up. Obvious with all the changes I suppose but geez let's show a bit of fight.

I can't see anything other than a Newcastle win the way we're set up and playing.

My stream is going okish but over a minute behind than on here

Brunt & Barry together is not going to work, both decent players but now too old/slow we could get away with one in the team but not both in my opinion
