West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Jacob Murphy (on loan from Newcastle)
« on: February 04, 2019, 03:31:58 PM »
Yesterday he put three crosses straight into the BRE for a goal kick and an awful pass behind for a GK. Granted it’s a 17 minute debut but about as worst as I’ve ever seen. I seen a fair bit of him play for Newcastle and he seems able to run at pace but doesn’t have much a technique / ability and doesn’t have a football brain. I don’t rate him at all but will cheer him on and hope he proves me wrong. Yesterday was woeful. His crossing reminded me of Andy McDermott.

His crosses were perfect if our players were actually in the box, I remember atleast one only needed a touch to nock it into the goal... and for his pass he put it through the defenders legs which our player failed to read and just stood there watching it, if he makes that run he's through on goal.

Took him about a minute to cost us a goal today.

He's slow, can't tackle, barely puts any decent corners/free kicks with his magic wand of a left foot... so what does he actually bring to the team now?

Like many have mentioned, he has been a great servant and no one can deny that but it's time we move on from him if we want to progress as a club.

What a time it would be to draw them, hopefully their terrible run would continue and we could kick them whilst they are down come Jan.  ;D

Hope Fury wins.

Then I hope he fights Joshua and shuts up this ridiculous cringe fest surrounding him.

He needs to stop pulling up his shorts, dropping his guard and acting cocky during his fights before even thinking about stepping in the ring with Joshua, just those 3 things will get him knocked out and that's without taking Joshuas power and speed into account.

I've been more entertained in the last 5 mins than I was the whole of the past 3 seasons.

Moore out!

Two long range shots and the closest player brunt failed to close the player down.

Simple things like this are the reason we have conceded so many this season.

Effort? Players did make effort last night. Of all the thibgs we can throw at the., noy trying wasn't one last night.

Did you see myhills poor attempts at diving? Did you not see players passing the ball and the receiver just standing there? Instead of moving towards the ball? Which happened countless times which resulted in us losing possession...Did you not see HRK receiving the ball and just standing there to hold off the defender instead of trying to move with the ball or pass it? Did you not see the amount of times they had the ball and no one attempted to apply any pressure?

That's all lack of effort.

These are professional footballers, some older, some younger, some inexperienced... but everyone on that pitch has the ability to play football... last night that didnt show. Moore gave them a chance and they didn't take it.

DM bottled it tonight. Poor tactics and useless subs. His interviews actually make me cringe at times.

Realistically, we should be aiming for promotion this season. If we fail to get it, I think some fans will start turning.

I appreciate we're a club in transition and he's come out saying he wants us to play exciting football, but aside from stuffing a toothless QPR, have we been exciting to watch? Not really. We've made hard work of the previous cup games, and we've struggled to make our possession count in games (as in, making key passes - not sitting with it at the back).

It's ok beating bottom teams, but we come up against a bit of class and we have struggled.

Then those fans that start turning need a reality check.

PLENTY of teams have proved it's not easy to drop down to the championship then bounce straight back up the next season.

We have an inexperienced manager, with a new assistant trying to play a new style of football with some players that idiots signed who no one else would want and a couple of his own players... mix with that the likes of brunt, morrison, myhill who are clearly not performing to a great level.

This whole 'transition' period doesnt take one season and for people to expect Moore to work miracles then they need to sit back and think first.

Last night he rested our better players for an important game Saturday and gave the second string a chance to prove themselves..... regardless they should be capable of playing football and make effort... which they failed to do last night.

He will make more mistakes I'm sure of that, but for people to moan in September when we are sitting comfortable in the table and being top goalscorers in English football is embarrassing.

You used th "transition" word, its this seasons VAR 😂

I think we could be in danger of looking to deep at this, the problem is quite simple brunt and Livermore don't work, it puts too much pressure on the back line and makes them look bad too

Back three of Livermore Dawson Tosin

Midfield of Gibbs Barnes Barry field/Harper Phillips

Top two of Gayle and jay rod

Livermore in a back three combined with a slow and past it Barry in the middle is a disaster waiting to happen.

General Football & Sports / Re: Dingle watch - Anything Wolves
« on: August 21, 2018, 09:53:35 AM »
Age is irrelevant, Patricio is still better.

Jota is better than Phillips or Barnes or any of the others you mention. Jota will fetch upwards for £30m (providing he doesn't have a release clause) when he leaves Wolves.

Cavaliero is injury prone, jury is out on him. Costa the same but both very capable players and deserving of a spot in a PL team.

Boly was useless against £50m worth of striker, Hegazi looks scared stiff of second division plodders.

It's all well and good having confidence in our team but regurgitating S***e like this just makes us sound like every Wolves fan for the last decade when they kept saying they were better than us... guess what? They weren't.

'On paper' you may well be right.... but we all should know by now football games aren't played on paper.

Confidence, form etc play a massive part.

By looking at them they have a decent enough team, but the biggest issue is how they 'steamed' the championship and expected to do the same to the premier league..   seeing them come crashing back down to reality is nearly as satisfying as seeing us score 7 goals in a game.  ;D

« on: August 21, 2018, 09:47:37 AM »
I showed my partner the squad photo and told her that there was one player there who didn't want to be at the club and asked if she could guess who it is....

Lets just say she guessed correct.

Who did she guess? I'm struggling as there are about 10/11 people with straight faces that don't look happy....

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Ahmed Hegazi signs official
« on: August 11, 2018, 08:20:51 PM »
Hegazi divides opinion but he's a good player. He's one of them that needs an organiser alongside him It;s Bartley that needs dropping. Hegazi alongside Dawson will look a different player.

Hegazi was caught out of position countless amount of times last season, a good majority that led to conceding a goal.

Bartley was also having a go at him against Bolton because he was out of position.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Guochuan Lai
« on: August 10, 2018, 12:03:16 PM »
He did, with someone with short arms and long pockets. We’ve been conned into believing Lai was going to invest in the club and put us in a sound financial footing.

No we haven't, the club was sold and people got excited and assumed money would be thrown around.

He clearly stated he would continue to run the club how it has been run.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: WBA - Nacer Chadli
« on: August 09, 2018, 03:55:04 PM »
Chadli can still leave to Europe until the 31st.

He'll be gone.

If the club allow him to without having a replacement.... which is very unlikely.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Centre midfield
« on: August 08, 2018, 09:48:37 AM »
He does seem a bit oblivious to it mate but he needs to wake up quickly. Personally, i wouldn't want either of them playing but, at the very least they have to be broken up and it has to be Brunt that makes way, he is just woeful in CM, always has been always will be. Only place on the pitch he can play now is LB.

I'm hoping that Jones will start to take the lead tactically and leave DM to the man-management, with his first challenge being to tell Brunt he is dropped!

But he can't defend and is way too slow to keep up with other teams attackers....which then leaves the rest of the defence exposed.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Chris Brunt
« on: August 07, 2018, 10:01:37 PM »
This guy is a problem in centre midfield.  Please play him left back instead of Gibbs if we have to.  Until we get some legs in central midfield then we'll have problems getting promoted IMO.

He shouldn't be on the field at all, he he has is a left foot and he can't even use that anymore.

Love the guy and appreciate him massively, but when it's time, it's time... to improve we need to freshen up.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Season Tickets 18/19
« on: August 06, 2018, 02:39:25 PM »
I will keep you posted but the seat I wanted to switch to has been taken up overnight, so just playing a waiting game at the moment.

Has it been taken up by someone purchasing a season ticket or just a single ticket for the next game?

May be worth asking the ticket office and they could change yours now for it to come into effect the game after next.

I changed mine about 2 seasons ago, same stand so no extra charges etc and they just printed me a new card off with the new row and seat number.

« on: August 04, 2018, 05:22:07 PM »
For me Brunt should start and i'm fine with him starting centrally but only in a 4231

All he has is a left foot and couldn't even put a decent corner into the box. Wasn't happy, head dropped and picked up a card in the middle of the park because he was being a tit.. pretty embarrassing for someone of his experience.

Got mine about 10 this morning thought the game was kicking off at half past that many people there having said that the quality and the size against addidas is not good took my XL shirt from last year puma seem to be a size smaller

Nothing different with the sizes, puma tops are 'fitted', Adidas are not that's the only difference.

Personally I prefer puma with the fitted clothing, don't look like a bag of rags then.  :D

It was mentioned when we found out puma were our supplier that puma tops are 'fitted'.

Can't see why there is an issue with sizing.

Still no news than I thought the announcement was going to be on Monday ?

The club said it would be this week, not Monday.

We don't need it for another 6 days anyway so not sure why everyone's on meltdown when atleast 50% of the fan base will only moan and pick faults about it anyway when it's finally released. ;D

Last 5 games, scored 15 conceded 6, W4 D1 ..... whens big daves statue getting put up at the hawthorns?!

Quite refreshing to see, even against lower league teams in the most recent past under previous managers we have struggled and looked like we are the lower league team majority of the time.

Few years ago we were the only West Midlands premier league club and beginning to get established whilst the wolves and villa were being run by idiots.
A chance for us to push on spend, and create  a divide .

With the fosun group and mendes wolves have hit jackpot
Now it seems villa have been saved and not by anyone, the richest company in Egypt and richest Egyptian in the world.

And we have Lai. And only money we can spend is from selling what we have.
As I say, missed opportunity and can’t believe we’ve landed the owners we have compared with wolves and villa.

Not necessarily a few years ago... look at last year and how much has changed already.... also it's been mentioned more than once by Moore that we don't NEED to sell before we can buy....  it makes sense, no point buying another 3/4 wingers if we can't get rid of some of the ones we have.. that just means more players on our books picking up a wage for not playing which people would then also moan about.

Wolves have been promoted to a league we were in for a good few years, they've not done something special they have done something 3 teams do each season.... It's all good and well them making stupid money signings but if they do end up going back down they will be doomed and all their better players will be gone regardless.... they are spending amounts that should secure them atleast a mid table finish... if they finish in the bottom half next season they have been 'ambitious' and failed.

Villa were taken over by that crazy DR, people were mentioning how they made so many signings... look at their position now.

Far too many people are so short sighted, see clubs around us spending way over the odds for players and automatically complain about our club If we don't do the same.... stoke are apparently buying McClean for 5 million more than he's worth ffs so what does that tell you about they crazy world of football?

No it's bull. The mother told me "I will let you know if she will let me". She wouldn't. They know alright they are just treating it like national security which I think is pathetic. It's all our club after all.

Maybe she don't know herself so she can't tell her mother? No reason for til operators to know before anyone else... hardly confidential information it's just a fact that our club are very slow when it comes to announcements if you compare to other clubs. The club shop people aren't exactly in important meetings with the board so they won't know themselves til it's announced or they open the boxes with the kits in them.... I know the electrician who's just retired and even he said after working in the managers office, boardrooms etc... It's like getting blood out of a stone to find out info so I wouldn't take it to heart too much if I was you   :)

If that's the case it's either black or red surely? I know the mother of the person who runs the club shop and I can't get a bloody thing out of them.  >:(

I remember my cousin asking last year what colour the away kit was and the someone at the club shop said they don't see it themselves until they get them in stock when they are revealed.... maybe that is still the case and it's a top secret  ;D
