Terrible news to hear. A good friend of mine who is a Cardiff fan can not speak highly enough of the guy - an absolute legend in that part of the land.

My thoughts are with his loved ones at this very difficult time.

Rumours flying around on social media that Peter Whittingham has sadly passed away  :(

Exactly, and Cardiff were 3 points clear of Preston and +11 GD for a play off place a few years ago with 1 game left... at Preston, which they lost 6-0, statistically virtually impossible, but it happened.

Just had to look that up. It must have been absolutely sickening missing out on goals scored by 1! :o

Somebody mentioned (and provided the link) that Geoff Horsfield had been on this podcast, and in it he told the presenters to get AJ on.

So low and behold, they've actually gone and done it. It's really worth a listen!

Can we please drop Bartley now? How many more goals does he have to cost us?

What else was he supposed to do? It was going to be a goal regardless

He won't sign a new deal even if it does all go belly up today for him. He will be off in the summer regardless and we will be short of a few million pounds. This deal has to get across the line, I do not want to see him back here now after all that has happened

Oh I know he won't sign, it was merely hypothetical  ;)

If it meant he came back, took stock and signed a new deal then great. Frustrating for us to be so close to a deal though. In danger of losing him for peanuts now.

So would I, but here's the problem. He comes back and signs the deal, plays and makes 1 mistake and the fans will have him for it.

Normally, I wouldn't advocate mass changes but, this now needs to be about fringe players staking a claim. The first 11 are rubbish at the minute so should be looking over their shoulders, they need shaking up, especially the "undroppables"
Bond, Fitzwater, O'Shea, Harper (if fit), Barry, Brunt, Edwards, Krovinovic, Willock, Tulloch, Austin should all be involved with a clear message, do well and you're in contention for Cardiff.

                Bond
Furlong O'Shea Ajayi Brunt
          Barry Harper
Edwards Krovinovic Willock
                Austin

Tulloch and Fitzwater on the bench

I'd happily settle for that XI, to be honest.

Brilliant interview with Chaz

https://www.wba.co.uk/news/2020/january/the-star-interview-charlie-austin/

The more I hear and see what he does outside of football the more I like him.

Top man

I'm with you on that. It's refreshing to see/hear a footballer that doesn't come across as scripted and robotic.

The FA Cup tv replay picks are in.

BT went for Man Utd v Wolves (was always going to happen and hard to blame them with their subscription model).

It’s ok though because the BBC don’t have those same pressures, so surely they are going to go with Tranmere v PL side Watford, or Newcastle v Rochdale............

They have gone with Spurs reserves v Boro reserves

Soulless W******

I honestly don't understand how they didn't choose Tranmere vs Watford. It would have made far better viewing, in my opinion.

Sorry, yeah. I'm so used to Sky moving us about I forgot they don't do the cup.

Sort of like a force of habit, I guess!  ;D
Blues were given 5100 tickets in the 3rd round last season at the London Stadium.
Also I doubt the game will be on the Friday as West Ham play Leicester away the Wednesday before.

I can see it being moved to the Sunday, though I'd rather it stays on the Saturday. Hopefully the club ask (and get) the maximum allocation!

I think us asking for the full amount will be dependent on whether the game gets moved from the Saturday.

I don't know when Sky decide what games they are showing / when but the sooner the better. I'm waiting as well, if the game is on Saturday I will go, if they move it to another day I probably won't be able to go due to work.

Anyone know when Sky are likely to let us know?

Cup games are nothing to do with Sky, it's BT Sport and the BBC. I'd imagine it'll be some time this week

Chelsea away would be my 1st choice. Southampton or Pompey away wouldn't be bad shouts either for me.

I experienced this. I went to the news article about tickets for the Charlton game and it worked using the link on there.

I tried that route as well, to see if it worked. Sadly it didn't.

So I go to look to see what the availability is for tickets for the Charlton game next Saturday, and I can't seem to get on the online ticket site. Is anybody else having this problem?

Boil the kettle?

I'll get my coat... ;D

They need to do something as the Halfords is embarrassing! We must modernise the stand.

Expand it at the same time, I would. But I agree with the point made that we need to be consistently packing the stadium until it becomes a viable option.

There was a good article in The Athletic about Rob Green, Chelsea goalkeeper standing up to Sarri in a team meeting

I saw a page on Facebook quote something from this. Almost immediately, you had the keyboard warriors replying with the obvious - "Didn't happen!"

Not so sure, if the "biggest" clubs see us a source of prospective talent, they will be reluctant to see this disappear, and its clear that the big clubs run football, while no-one does anything they will continue to milk all the lesser clubs ad infinitum

Maybe so, but they can still get these prospects if they were at other clubs.

He has to be given at least 18 months and 3 windows to reshape that squad. They've been so disjointed for 3 or 4 years. How long will that full head of black hair last ?

No later than the end of the season. I can only imagine the thought of trying to get Ozil to do something productive is giving him grey hairs already!
