Counting back I believe Phillips and Kamara did it in 06/07.

Do you know what their final tally was?

Kamara got 22, I think Phillips hit 21 (all comps).

I don’t remember Kamara scoring 20 + goals in one season. I thought it was just Phillips.
It is not the taking part, but the winning that counts.

Kamara was top scorer with 22, I had to count up Phillips goals to make sure he made it to 20. It was the season we lost the play off final.

Good achievement by both players. Should be top two when you have 42 goals from 2 players.

Apparently the last time we had two players get 20 league goals in a season was Allen and Sir Bobby back in the 1950's. :o

The season you refer to was the 57-58 season. Ronnie Allen scored 22 in 39 league games, Bobby Robson scored 24 in 41 games with Derek Kevan just coming short of the 20 on 19 goals from 38 games. In all competitions, Allen (28), Robson (27) and Kevan (23) all topped the 20 goal mark.

In the 65/66 season, we also had three players scoring over 20 goals in all competitions, although none of three actually scored 20 in the league alone. Tony Brown (27 from 45 games), Jeff Astle (24 from 34 games) and John Kaye (23 from 52 games). The amazing thing with this particular feat is that not a single one of those goals from those three players were penalties, making it an even bigger achievement. (Bobby Cram was our penalty taker that season scoring 7 from the spot).

Wasn't John Kaye a half back?

From what I recall; he switched position midway through his career.

I can remember him having a blood stained bandage around his head at Maine Road inthe FA cup replay (I was there in the pouring rain too).
