United fans on forum saying he's been a very reliable back up.

I know quite a few United season ticket holders and to man they think Lindegaard is a good signing for us.

BREAKING: Sky Sources: Goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard to undergo medical at West Brom ahead of free transfer from Manchester United #SSNHQ

------

What does this mean for Myhill in the short term? And Foster in the long term?

Never understood why lindergard didn't get more game time when de gea did not play.

Good keeper imo.

Much better than wasting 4 or 5m on marshall.

Excellent signing which also frees up the £6 million we would have had to spend to get Marshall. Desperate to see us get some pace and creativity in the middle.

Spending £5m would not be a waste of money. He is a top, top keeper - a position every club needs strength in. Hopefully, Lindegaard will prove a worthy alternative. The big worry is that he is not rated by Manchester United.

he would most likely have been Utds no1 if it wasnt for the injury he had. quite possibly our long tern no 1

I seriously doubt this and reckon they'd have signed somebody else regardless.
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.

United fans on forum saying he's been a very reliable back up.

This is a very easy thing to say when he has been called upon so infrequently.
I believe he will be signing to compete as our number one goalie, not to be considered as back up.

To expand upon my point, although I believe Myhill to be a very good stand in I do not believe he is good enough to be our number one over a period of time either.

Regards Marshall I cannot say I know too much about him beyond his one season in the Prem' and associated match reports which were very good.

I am basing my opinion of Lindegaard on what I have seen with my own eyes, which although not a lot, is most likely similar to what most Man Utd supporter's have seen.

Don't get me wrong.
If he signs then I would back him and wish him to be successful, I am just not overly enthusiastic at this moment in time.

Indeed he did sir, in a performance where he did not command the box and where his all round performance was not of a particularly high standard. Back up keeper or not.

Hate to point out the obvious but didn't England's number one let five in that day as well?

No, Joe Hart plays for Manchester City  :).

Foster though did indeed let in five during the same game.

But he let five in against a much more mobile strike force and attacking midfield combination than the one facing Lindegaard.

Thanks for reinforcing my point.

They had Lindegaard, we had Foster. They had Rooney, we had Romelu.

Either way, it was 5-5. Neither goalie pulled up any trees.

You would be wrong to blame Foster for any of those, Lindegaard did very poorly on two of the goals, Lukaku's long ranger in particular that had no pace or real accuracy and yet crept in.

For Christ sake you lot give the bloke a chance he hasn't even signed for us yet. I am sure that we could highlight other games where he played well in.

Lukaku played one half, Rooney was out.

Indeed neither keeper pulled up any trees, but then I didn't post anything about Foster before you brought him up.

I was discussing Lindegaard, the merits of Myhill and the possible acquisition of Marshall.

It's a forum for the reading and posting of opinions.
I have read the opinions of others and politely posted mine in return, others have done the same.
I have already stated that I wish him well if he signs for us.
