FFS. I know we don't know the detail but its so frustrating when something like that damages an absolutely enormous financial outlay for our club when we really need to get value for every penny spent.

Plus, he's an exciting player. Wonder if the same happened with Varela when he arrived, with Poco and Gamboa. For me, poco and Varela were playing well and I could never understand why both of them were immediately discarded.

Pulis did hang him out to dry when he was accused of diving. I don't know if that was has been the reason for their relationship breaking down or that he isn't disciplined enough for example. Massive waste of money on him and Chester which ever way you look at it.

He's not shown enough end product at Wigan or us to show me he's as good as some think - anyone  who isn't happy , we should get rid because especially a fringe player.

Some signings work others don't , we've had players who looked world beaters but who didn't click elsewhere e.g. Curtis Davis, Joe Kamara to name two.

I'm not so sure it's as simple as that. Unless you are prepared to double up as a second full back then Pulis isn't interested. He's perhaps not good enough or disciplined enough defensively to do a job for Pulis. A shame really as he always looks like he can open teams up.

Perhaps not. Maybe he thought he could get more out of him and hasn't been able to. The same could be said for Gnabry and Chester. If we had some decent full backs then maybe we could let our wingers concentrate on getting forward a bit more.

Not sure about that.  Pulis knew who our full backs were and what was needed.  Point taken though that if Chester had dislodged Dawson then it might have resulted in less tracking back needed.

McManaman falling out of favour has nothing to do with who he is playing front of. Pulis may never sign or play a specialist full back. His midfield drops deep when out of possession and it drops deep as a unit, if tracking back is at the heart of the issue (I don't think it is) then you have to assume that Sessegnon is better and although improved this not an aspect of his game I would want to rely on.

Derby bought a striker/winger from abroad so probably won't be in for him now.  Not wishing to insult the "ITK" posters, but I would take the fall out with Pulis thing with a pinch of salt, he (Pulis) doesn't seem to allow such things to fester, and he is the "grown up" in the relationship.

Play proper full backs and you don't need constant protection, McManaman is far superior to McLean in everything, other than tracking back.

And I don't agree with you, I don't see wingers in many other premier league sides expected to offer such protection to full backs.

I cannot see the point of having the likes of Sess lay a ball to an overlapping Dawson, Chester etc who are incapable of beating a full back or providing a decent cross.

In the first half today, Rondon received most balls when out wide left, surely that is the position McLean should be taking up, instead he was thirty yards behind holding Brunts hand.

West Bromwich Albion are demanding £7 million for Callum McManaman after QPR and Middlesbrough became the latest clubs to register an interest.
McManaman is set to leave West Brom this month, barely a year after signing from Wigan Athletic, and has also been targeted by Bournemouth.
QPR and Middlesbrough both made enquiries this week and were told that any permanent deal would cost £7m, almost double the fee West Brom paid last January.

The 24-year-old has been mainly used as an impact substitute by Tony Pulis this season and failed to start a Premier League game since September.
But any deal for McManaman looks likely to be a loan move after the significant fee placed on the winger's head.
Pulis is plotting his strategy for the final fortnight of the transfer window with Saido Berahino expected to stay at the Hawthorns.
