I hate to say it again (have said it in other topics) but it's down to tactics and management. Professionals can't always do what's asked of them, particularly if they're being asked to do something they're not comfortable with. It's clear that they're being told to build from the back even though we don't have the technical ability.
Dawson and Hegazi remind me, to an extent, of Paul Mardon and Paul Raven. No nonsense defenders, physical and a bit dirty. No real skill as such, but will head the ball away all day long. But they're being told to play with their feet in and around their own box.
I also think some of our players have the opinion that they're too good for this league, and while they're pondering that thought, the opposition player has whipped the ball past him and has the ball in our net.
Football is a simple game. Whichever goal the ball is closest to, that's likely the goal the ball will end up in. And we play around our own box far too much. Why do you think when a team is winning by the odd goal and the clock is on 90 minutes they put the ball in the opposition corner? because it's furthest away from their own goal. It's something Albion don't seem to comprehend this season.
