A team in the fourth tier of the Welsh league. Hope it works well for him.

When he was asked about Merson's match fitness, Hooper said: "He's looking okay on the box (television)."

Well that's O.K then  ;D .

I still get nightmares over Walsall away in '03, he ran the show that day.

You have to wonder how tough it is on players when they retire and the craic, camerarderi, daily routine finishes. MErse has been lucky to be able to maintain a livelihood in the game, most others do not and it must be bloody hard when it'd all you have ever known. The vast majority do not make millions and it must be hard on them and their families

We should have signed him that summer, he was an excellent player back in the day

Hopefully he'll disappear off his xenophobic, idiotic soapbox now. But I doubt it.

The latest one today? Harry Redknapp has more tactical nous than ARSENE WENGER. One of these is with a top six team playing European football, the other has just been sacked by a team in the bottom three of the championship.

It's because Wenger got rid of Merse and he holds a grudge. I don't think he means those comments.

Merse played his first game in midweek. They were leading 3-2 before the floodlights failed and the game was abandoned.

I think it is meant to be his only game. Sounds like a favour to get some extra gate receipts in - so good on Merse.
