West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Simon Cox
« on: July 01, 2011, 11:39:08 AM »
I really hope Simon Cox gets a good run in the team, he played some great balls last season, and he is a natural goal scorer.

was it Cox that played Mulumbu in for the winning goal against the Villa ?

can people really moan about our sponsor being a cause of gambling problems / addiction for people when the club itself have a player on the books who was caught buying drugs which is surely an even worse form of addiction ?

rumour is that there is a scheduling problem for next years GP in cardiff due to the stadium being used for the Olympic football

Ive got told its bodog.com. an online betting company.

would we have a different betting company sponsoring us as to the 12.bet who are now the official betting partner of the club and will have betting stations inside the stadium

i do like the reply 'when it's on it looks even more silly'

i think this is quite a grey area actually. on one hand there is the argument that messi the player has been manufactured by the use of hormone treatment and if his body had been left to develop on it's own he wouldn't be anything like the player he is today.

the other argument is that the treatment has allowed him to reach the potential that he had.

i think that seeing as he is the only known case of receieving this treatment kind of shows that it isn't classed as cheating and that he had the footballing talent in the first place otherwise clubs would be doing it with a lot of other players if it improved them

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Season Review DVD
« on: June 20, 2011, 11:09:17 AM »
Over in the West Mids yesteday and collected it from the Club Shop. Watched it last night to relive a wonderful season - the DVD is a must for any Baggie's collection.

Also wanted to get DVD's of some of the key games (Villa, Liverpool etc) BUT no sign of these though there were drastic reductions on the matches such as Stoke and Blackburn at home - bargain at 99 p !!!    :o

there is a website that sells those dvd's haven't checked if they are still on there though.

Simon Graysons odds have been slashed from 50/1 to 5/2..interesting. I'm also convinced that Hughes will be coach at Chelsea with Hiddink DoF.

was just about to put this.

Grayson should have got Leeds in the play offs this season and didn't. Not exactly a big name for the supposed big club that villa are now is he

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Zoltan Gera
« on: June 08, 2011, 10:31:50 AM »
Gera strung us along when he left for Fulham, that's why I was sceptical about his 'love' for the club that he keeps alluding to.
I cant understand some of our fans when they idolise a player that couldn't wait to get out of the door yet ridicule certain players that wear the shirt every week

Totally agree

It looks like they will be keeping Alex McLeish as there manager. he taken them up before and he will feel he can do it again.

he's also got them relegated before. twice

I'm sure Chris L said in one of his online forums that the club were also looking at other sponsors as well, it could be all change with new make and new sponsor next season

« on: April 04, 2011, 10:38:42 AM »
thought he did really well and took his shoot brilliantly in the second half (still think he is the best finisher at the club)

agree with people saying would he have played if morrison and dorrans weren't out. i also think if Vela had returned from Mexico in better shape he may have played instead

for the first time since the Megson era i actually saw 2 banks of 4 defending properly in the first half on saturday. Roy has certainly got us organised defensively

« on: March 21, 2011, 01:02:33 PM »
I haven't heard it confirmed as Addidas as the new kit make, only rumours.

I'm sure the club has any deals in place and is waiting to see what league we are in, in regards to our sponser.

is it being desinged by adidas or is it the deal like Stoke have where it is off the shelf with the badge added to it like Walsall had with there Nike kits a few years ago
