West Ham are spending big this time round. They have just made a formal offer of £27.1m for our old mate Carvalho........

Shame isn't it. If they agree a fee it'll be like on Bullseye when they bring out "what you could have won!" Be interesting to see how he does, i hope we can pull something out the bag, Adrien Silva has seemed like more of a player to me.

What happened to everyone having to have a flat colour on the back of the shirt for the numbers?

Bournemouth didnt and it looks like newcastle dont either.

Shelved it until next season. Believe teams affected had already manufactured thousands of shirts.

Chris Wood is now discussing personal terms with Burnley over a 15 milloon plus add ons transfer.

Strange to think Wood and Berahino played together in our under 18s and reserves, and in the space of 7 or 8 months have been sold for a combined total close to £30 million pounds.

Credit the clubs academy. It shows it is working.

Both not worth it though. But I suppose it's about what someone is willing to pay

I haven't seen loads of Wood but I think people on here judge him by the player he was with us which was a long time ago and he'll have developed. If Assambolonga can go for £15m then so should Wood.

One of the reasons we let Wood go was we had Berahino coming through and at the time he looked like the better prospect. Funny how they have both ended up in the same place having taken very different paths.

Not sure we backed the wrong horse because I remain far from convinced that Wood has the quality to make it at Premier League level but given his form last year and his perseverance slogging through various Championship clubs he thoroughly deserves his chance, whereas Berahino all the natural gifts and none of the character probably is lucky to be at Stoke.

Agree with this, shows hard-work beats talent...or at least equals it. I think Wood has a much higher chance of being in the Championship for the next 10 years or so if he can't make it in the Prem, whereas Berahino's career could genuinely be over by the time he's 30 if he doesn't watch it.
