Rekeem Harper nets his first goal for Albion on the day he won the Club's Young Player of the Season award.

The 19-year-old midfielder slams in a left-foot half-volley from the edge of the area. A sublime effort.

Get in there, i’ve never known a team to play so poorly at times to then look like Brazil for 10 minute stretches.

HRK is a diabolical striker, I'd have scored more than him this season given the amount of minutes he's played.

Main issue for me is whether any of the players were injured bad enough to be out for the play offs. Didn't look like it.
Impressed with Harper. Looked very lively on the ball and well taken goal.
2 very poor misses by Phillips and HRK with time and only the keeper to beat.

Very sloppy before 0-1 and much better after that.
Great goal by Harper, did very well in 2nd half.

Dreadful first half.  You could make a case to have subbed all 3 of the midfielders.  Second half was better.

Keeper was poor for their goal - I am shocked I tell you - header from 6 yard box with no real power, just sort of loops to the side of the keeper with his feet rooted to the spot.

Phillips miss was a bit more unlucky than HRK's, he had a player on his back and never quite got the ball out of this feet.  HRK's was something else though - freedom of the pitch to run into, under no pressure, ball under control, smashed it wide.  At no point as he was running through was I thinking "this is a goal" it was more "how is he going to screw this up".

wba_1996 is right, we played poorly but we have better players.

First half was abysmal, as bad as anything all season particularly at home. Second half better but no-one really played well today. Glad to see Harper get his first goal for the club, other than that he was pretty poor. Brunt and Johansen were awful in the middle of the park as well. I felt sorry for Rodriguez and Gayle who had very little to work with all afternoon.

Rotherham really didn't deserve to lose that game. That said we missed two one on one's. Phillips's miss was bad Robson-Kanu's was even worse, the keeper saving it, fine, but how the hell do you miss the target in that position?

Poor, poor performance but we'll take the points.

Very poor performance - didn’t think we was that great in the second half but our quality saw us through. Had we played anyone half decent we would have lost that

Looked as though Gayle flung himself down to win a penalty - would need to see it again

I thought Rotherham were unlucky to lose too.  I don't think either of those one on one's would have happened if they weren't chasing the game.  It was clearly a throw in over by the touchline before our goal.  The linesman looked like he was about to flag for a Rotherham throw when the ref gave it Albion's way and he stuck his flag up for Albion.

This is the sort of situation our forwards should be working on in training.  Its about staying composed, and also decisive. Perfect example of how its done was Gayle's first at home v Stoke.

Awful performance and summed up our failings this season. Sloppy goal to concede and Rotherham can consider themselves unlucky not to be going back with 3 points after hitting the woodwork twice.

If we want to get through these playoffs we need to up our game on and off the pitch regardless of whether we play villa or not, today was shocking but not the first poor performance we've seen especially at home this season.

Defensively sloppy and Johnstone does not fill me personally with confidence, full backs okay going forward but they have to defend at times as well. Midfield tippy tappy passes to the nearest player or hoof ball hit and hope style, Harper the only one to come out with any credit, at least he tried to run with the ball and take the game to Rotherham. Upfront Gayle tried but I forgot Rodriguez was playing until he took the penalty.

As for the two one on ones, absolutely dogshite from both of them, I thought the one from Phillips was ban enough but to then see one of our "top" strikers mess one up even more was absolutely comical.

Not sure it was our quality that saw us through more that they had to come out more when we got what seemed a lucky penalty, not seen it back but the one we didn't get seemed more of a penalty.
