It doesn't actually say:

THE SADDLERS face two home games as part of our pre-season schedule of matches.

First up we entertain Wolves on Saturday, July 28th (kick-off 3.00pm) in a game that will give new manager, Stale Solbakken an early opportunity to run the rule over his squad.

Our next home game will see West Bromwich Albion arrive at Banks's Stadium on Tuesday, August 7th (kick-off 7.45pm). They too will be under new management having seen Roy Hodgson land the England job and Steve Clarke take over at the helm.

Both games will prove to be a good test for Dean Smith as he shapes his squad for the new season. Tickets are on sale now from the Banks's Stadium Ticket Office at £12 (adults) and £6 (concessions) for all areas of the stadium. We also have a special Family Ticket available for £15.

We are also operating a special Link-Up ticket offer for both games when tickes are purchased at the same time. It will be £20 (adults), £10 (concessions) and £25 (family).

The Banks's Stadium Ticket Office is open 9.00am until 4.30pm Monday to Friday throughout the summer for the sale of pre-season friendly match tickets and season-tickets

http://www.wba.co.uk//news/article/yakob-set-for-first-albion-start-297065.aspx?

NEW signing Claudio Yakob will make his first start in an Albion shirt when Steve Clarke’s men continue their pre-season campaign at Walsall tonight (ko 7.45pm).

The Argentina international got 25 minutes under his belt as a second-half substitute on his Baggies debut in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Sheffield Wednesday.

And he will kick-off alongside fellow summer recruit Yassine El Ghanassy and returning Olympians Craig Dawson and Chris Wood against the League One Saddlers.

The rest of the squad will be made up of a combination of senior players who did not start at Hillsborough at the weekend and development squad players.

At the train station opposite the ground - if heavy traffic afterwards you can always have a sly beer in the ramada hotel.

Is Cox playing on right midfield? If so, I can't help but think his place should have gone to a youth player

If an offer has been accepted from Forest, why are we risking his fitness and denying a younger prospect such as Roofe or Allan a chance to start?

First half, i didnt think it was great. but a good header by Dawson

second half, i thought much better. we pressed them well, and berahino finished well

El Ghannasy was good

so not a bad peformance

I Went to watch tonight, not a bad performance. El Ghannassy was probably the stand out with a goal and an 2 assists, always looked to take people on but, more surprisingly, tracked back all the time. Berahino made a difference when he came on. He obviously got his goal but was also a good physical threat and constantly looked to stretch them in behind.

Yacob looked ok, still behind the others fitness wide and therefore not as sharp but read the game as well, broke up play a few times. George Thorne also impressed me, that end of season at Portsmouth has really brought him on.

Special mention to James Hurst who had a good game out of position at left back, composed, got forward well and comfortable on both feet. Seems like he's really making a case for himself this pre season. I do wonder if no left back cover is found whether his performances may push him up the pecking order.

Yacob looked like he has all the potential to be our 'Paul Scholes' he definitely looked the type of player to stay in the holding role and ping the ball about well, he tired in the 2nd half but I saw enough of him in the first 45 to think he will do well for us.

El Ghanassy drifted in and out of the game, he would be anonymous for 5-10 mins then spring to life and produce something, encouraged by him and think he will be used as an impact sub more than anything at the mo. Interestingly Clarke was switching him to both wings and he looked comfortable on both sides.

Berahino looked a handful and definitely one we should be loaning out at that level as he will terrorise league 1 defenders.

Wood and Cox played like they were being sold, not arsed and barely got involved.

Hurst played well apart from one slice that could have gone into his own net, but he attacked well on both flanks.

Dawson and Thorne did not look out of place and both will feature more this season I would think.

Overall a decent effort with some people putting their name forward for at least the subs bench.

Thought we were very solid apart from one or two lapses in concentration, a prime example being the poor goal we conceded and the silly penalty given away by Cameron Gayle but a part from that we bossed the football match without being under threat. All were well worked goals to be honest, the second, El Ghanassy just steamed past three or four, perhaps even five players before slotting in Berahino who looked at ease last night. Will be interesting to see how he develops.

Again, Yacob impressed me in the first half. Looks to want the ball and move it forward, George Thorne too, was quite impressive. Simon Cox was ineffective on either wing and I would like to hope its the last time we see him in an Albion shirt. Chris Wood who came off at half time also looked ineffective during the first half.

Reasons to be positive, a good run out for the lads. Sawyers, O'Neill, Hurst, Berahino & Gayle got some match time and thankfully our postion as kings of the Black Country remains untroubled  :)

Im not going to shout from the roof tops about El Ghanassy and Berahino like some as I feel there stats maybe dont tell the full story but they did okay. El Ghanassy looked rusty at times and when ever he tried to beat his man out wide he lost the ball so if he gets into the first team he will need to stop doing that and find another way to get the ball where he wants it to be. Berahino also seemed to struggle at times due to his decision making being wrong and he got an earful on a few occasions but both look like they have the tools to be good players eventually. El Ghanassys run for the second goal showed what he can do and Berahino was a handful when he came on so both could get into the first team picture at some stage.

As for the rest, Yacob looked like he broke things up well and should come along well. I think the criticism of Cox is harsh. He wasnt brilliant but he was playing in midfield and I think "uninterested" isnt a word I would use for him. Ja,mes Hurst deserves the credit he has got for playing so well at left back and all of the defence actually equipped themselves well, especially Billy Jones. Fortune also kept the crown entertained.

Overall a good performance with some positive performances.

Hurst looks to me like he could push for some first team action soon. He looks a very talented player. particularly like his positional awareness. Seems to be very aware whats happening around him.
