Does his release clause of 10 million active in this window? If so we may have no choice but to sell.

Don't know how true but hearing that Hegazi is going to Everton.

Although they have been poor defensively, they have a plethora of central defenders to choose from, so this would be a major surprise.

Trying to think of positives,  at least he is young and left footed. Unfortunately, IF hegazi went, surely it opens the door for Bartley as first choice with hawse as back up...

Both hegazi and hawse stories fit in with the fact Fitzwater is playing in the fa cup and then returning to Walsall on loan. That fills a space to rest Dawson and Hegazi while transfers are sorted.

However, if true, it will undermine squad cohesion and if I was Dawson......

I would think that Fitzwater coming back is to cover for Tosin, can't image any parent club would want players cup tied.

Dawson's price tag in the summer was about £15-20m
I think it would be similar for Hegazi.
If Everton willing to pay that, it's not a bad choice to let him go and use those funds to improve the squad.

I think that ended at some point in the summer

I'm with Devon, I don't see anyone going.

I'm also not expecting anyone in particularly....  ???

Dowling has commented that we wouldn't be 'scared' to let people go if we get the proper price.....hopefully that means we are confident we are well prepared for replacing them.  For Hegazi in January I think that would be 20m.

I thought Fitzwater was definitely going back to Walsall after the Wigan game?

He is according to local press. JW has played 25 times so far this season for Walsall, no chance they are going to refuse to have him back because he's FA cup tied.
Whenever things look bad, remember the Port Vale, Grimsby and Walsall days... not so bad now, eh?!

As far as I know, he is, just saying Man City wouldn't want Tosin cup tied

I don’t think city have a recall option on him so him being cup tied is irrelevant.

As for hegazi, I can’t see any club coming and paying our asking price thiscsindow.

we will be asking ridiculous money for any key player this window, we’d be asking 20mil, no team is meeting that.

Is he that good? Average at best for me and I'd say this is definitely his level.

Yes he is. He was our best central defender last season too.

Works very well with Dawson , not so sure without him.
One of those too good for this level but not so sure in the Premier although it was a massive jump coming here.

he’s not as good as some fans seem to believe, however in our current squad is part of our strongest 11 and our back up options are nowhere near good enough, so to the club he’s worth more.

He’s having a late fitnesses test this morning, along with Phillips, Morrison and HRK.

So, fingers crossed for all four, but we really need Phillips and Hegazi

Agreed. On the other hand, we really don't need the other two.

I am still not sure what Hegazi would be like back at premier league level (be better to judge now he has had a year or two of english football) but i think the last few months he has been superb, possibly our best player.

Since we moved to 4-3-3 he looks more comfortable and is in good form and i would say playing better than Dawson (who was also playing quite well until tuesday).

We look a better team when Hegazi plays so hopefully he is fit today.

Hope Hegazi makes it.

If MP is so touch and go he needs one, I wouldn’t risk him regardless. Not with his history
