General Football & Sports / Re: Valérien Ismaël - Head Coach
« on: November 07, 2021, 09:07:30 PM »
If player’s’ are tired why isn’t coach utilising his bench? Again we only used two subs yesterday. Rotation of squad is usually at a minimum with only injuries and suspensions  affecting first team lineup. Fringe player’s seem to be given little opportunity’s especially the younger lads no matter how team play.

Val’s team yesterday, even having only used two subs, could and should have won that game in the last minute of stoppage time; sadly, Grant can’t pass a football, had he been able to, even Mr Hugill would surely have scored. Robinson and Grant are awful, no first touch and they just don’t seem to be able to master a basic footballing skill, passing!

I would take either in a heartbeat.

Do you honestly think that Lai would provide more funds to any other managers than he has done (or rather, hasn’t) withVI? People really need to open their eyes and see where the problem Lai’s!

We are very a play offs at best side now. Forget auto. Can you for one minute imagine this manager and team in the Prem? Shudder.

We’ll part company January is my guess and then it will be about who is available for free I’m afraid.

This plan isn’t working and we don’t seem to have a plan B, on and off the pitch.

What you should be saying is ‘can you for one minute imagine this owner and team in the Prem’? If the owner doesn’t provide adequate funds then you really cannot blame the manager. It would be utter stupidity to sack VI; it’s Lai and his cohorts that we need to be rid of, until then we are just going to have to suffer.

The club should have appealed the sending off, he played the ball and any review of the incident would confirm that. Ridiculous not to appeal.

Pointless argument, FIFA is a nest of corruption, never going to give a verdict against Barcelona in favour of West Bromwich Albion.

More to the point, he shouldn’t have been sent off, he played the ball; the ref was utterly incompetent.

As above in my previous post theres a fine line as to what puts this forum in trouble and what doesn't . We also work to a set of rules that are pinned to the top of the forum page . Theres no whim , If a post is considered to break our rules we take action .

There was nothing in my posts that would get this site ‘in trouble’, have you read any of the other forums? They are not being sued or having to fend off Chinese assassins! As far as I am aware, there isn’t one Albion supporter who doesn’t want Lai gone, so we ought to be able to say so, forcefully.

I would rather have Palmer in goal. As for Hugill, can we get SuperKev out of retirement, he would still be better than Mr Hugill. My dog would be better than Zohore!

Comments are made about Albion fans never protesting about the owner, yet when we protest on here most of the posts are deleted, no reason given. It seems somewhat high-handed , especially when there was no abusive language used. We are supposed to enjoy a concept called freedom of speech in this country, something not enjoyed in the land of our greatly esteemed owner, but to find that particular liberty absent on a football forum, is rather sad. To have the courtesy of the reasoning for posts being removed would be something. Are they removed at the whim of any mod, or is there a permanent committee sitting, waiting to administer the ‘red card’? Should I expect excommunication?

Sky’s Soccer Saturday is a pain in the backside, Jeff Stelling is good but the others, oh dear! Sherwood is an idiot and what can one say about Clinton Morrison, illiterate or what? How the hell does a dumbo like that get a job on TV?

Ref was responsible for first goal, as Bartley clearly got the ball through Mitrovic's legs.  However, Furlong had to go as he was last man. Ajayi was lucky not to get a red.

However, Fulham had man for man, more quality on the ball. And they have a No.9 who knows where the goal is. Snodgrass and Livermore never set up anything from midfield and we more or less completly relied on Townsend wacking the ball across the penalty area and a few headers from corners for our goal chances.

Why did Furlong have to go? Should a player be sent off for playing the ball? It wasn’t a dangerous tackle. How can you have a decent game of football when you have such an incompetent referee?

Molumby should have started ahead of Livermore, we played well against Bristol City, who are nowhere near Fulham’s level, but the winning team should have been retained. VI is a Championship level manager but having said that, Pep Guardiola wouldn’t do any better with our squad. The best that we are going to achieve is a play-off place. What we are seeing now is the best it can ever be while we have that wretched chinaman as the owner of the Club.

This ref doesn’t take much time to think does does he?

In order to think, one requires a brain.

I think it was a red in all honesty. Ref couldn't wait again though.

So playing the ball is a red card?

The VI master plan has been rumbled, seems to be too easy to disrupt. Having said that, our squad just isn’t anywhere near as good as what some have made it out to be. WBA will never commit the resources to assemble a reasonable quality squad. Sadly, we’re saddled with a truly dreadful owner.

Verstappen to blame
Hes always been a reckless and dangerous driver
Desperate to become World champion
I hope Hamilton wins the championship again, he's the greatest ever in my opinion

Never in a million years is Hamilton the greatest. Formula 1 is a shadow of what it used to be, a glorified Formula Ford and calling it Grand Prix racing is an insult to the real Grand Prix drivers. The greatest driver I have ever seen was Jim Clark, drove all sorts of cars and won in all of them; in comparison, Lewis Hamilton would qualify as a car cleaner. Most, if not all, previous world champions have been better drivers than Hamilton, it’s just that for most of his F1 career he has had the best car by far and the opposition has been poor. If you really think that Hamilton is the ‘Greatest’, read some motor racing history, it would almost certainly change your mind.

It's beginning to look like Val only has 1 way to play sadly.

That’s what the Barnsley fans have been saying. Unfortunately, his options are limited owing to the paucity of the squad.

Yes, it was appalling today. I too came in via Scott Arms and Forge Lane, virtual gridlock. Took my seat a few moments before kick off and lucky to be in by then. Journey as a whole took about two and a half hours.

I think that Grant has been watching Zohore videos, very poor indeed. Diangana not much better, I really don’t like him as a player, a showboater, always flattering to deceive. As we know, though, our squad is too thin on quality and injuries and suspensions could well cost us dear over the course of the season.

Anyway - in proper cricket - Birmingham Phoenix into the final on Saturday night.

Liam Livingstone with 92 off 40.

This is an excellent all round side. Thoroughly enjoyable to watch.

The Hundred and the abomination that spawned it, 20/20, should not be referred to as cricket, more akin to the dreadful baseball (sorry, rounders). This frightful spectacle is the ruin of test cricket (proper cricket); so sad.

Won 4 nil so definitely wouldn't be too critical. As I said at half time I think we're three short at least and in key positions but we've absolutely steam rolled Sheffield United tonight in spite of those players.

The goal from open play was excellent (as was the one against Bournemouth) and we were relentless in pursuit of further goals.

Agree with others Bartley and Livermore particularly poor. Everyone else ranged from decent to superb.

Mowbray should suit us on Saturday so we can get a little bit of momentum going.

We’re you watching the same game? It was excellent entertainment. Methinks you are far too critical of the team that you seem to support!

Charlotte Worthington surely going to be in contention for SPOTY

As far as I am concerned, there is only one person deserving of SPOTY; Mark Cavendish. Although not at the Olympics, no one has come close to what he has achieved this year, and in the toughest sport of all. All our Olympic gold medalists deserve immense credit but what Cavendish has achieved is just unrivalled.

Bad take this mate.

If she's not 100% at it, she could be in serious danger doing this sport.

If she’s not confident about a particular routine then she should opt for an easier one. That, though, would probably mean that she wouldn’t win, what a shame. If you’re not prepared to accept that in sport that there is a chance that you might not win, then you shouldn’t be in it in the first place. Top sports people are in a very privileged place, yes, they have to work hard to get there but sometimes even the best get beaten. In my opinion, she let her country and team mates down.
