Great first half.
We came under pressure in the second half as Coventry pressed further up the field. Even before the subs were made we seemed to be giving the ball away needlessly. Instead of moving the ball around, the midfielders were still trying beat their markers who were swarming round them. If you're being pressed, there should be more space further up the field but we don't really have anybody up front who can hold the ball up. Pieters was particularly guilty of giving the ball away - but at least he was giving it the boot; some of the short passing was often being intercepted.
There's been a lot of talk about the subs but this well organised ten man defence means that the forwards, who cover most ground, will tire and subs will be necessary. Talk of leaving changes for ten minutes could be disastrous because when you start to tire, deterioration is rapid. The coaches know when their players are tiring. Of the subs, Reach was calm and effective, Weiman was not, Chalobah was Ok but not Okay. Bartley steadied the ship.
On corners, we still don't mark or get out to the man just outside the D.
