I'm for the Wenger rule.  I feel that the present state of affairs taken together if it touches any part of an attacker's arm/hand is biased too much to the defence. Some really good goals allowed by the referee have been quashed by VAR because a nostril is ahead of a defender.

I don't think his quite suggesting that, but what he is saying is that a player will be deemed onside if any part of their body is level or behind the last defender.

So like I said he will only be offside if there is clear air.

Your interpretation is correct and mine was just a little bit offside  ;D

Any other offside rule is where the confusion is because then it is open to interpretation.

I'm not saying clear air is the panacea but it's worth a try and it appears to be that the clear air rule states that it has to be any part of the body you can score with so if the arm is the one stopping it from being clear air then it'll be offside.

I thought the offside rule was fine really and didn’t need changing. All that needed to happen was to take VAR out of the equation when it comes to offsides or make it so that it had to be a clear error like they do in rugby.

This will just make it farcical. I like Wenger but he was always going to go for any rule that rewards attackers even if it is at the detriment of the game.

The vile lot managed to get a corner towards the end of the match.
Reina went down to the opposition goal area to make up numbers.
S'ton managed to get the ball and ran the full length of the pitch to tap it home.
2-0 final score.  ;D

West ham drawing at Liverpool, I'm quite torn on this, I don't like them much especially since they got basically given the stadium and if they go down we have a chance of getting Diangana - but it could be between them and Villa - they play each other on the final day too

I don’t like West Ham either but let’s hope they hold on for a win! Not only because it’s a poor result for Villa but because Liverpool fans are going to be insufferable enough, without going the season unbeaten too.

I hope Watford go down, so increasing the chance that Foster returns, and keeper problem solved.

Jarod Bowen misses decent chance with just keeper to beat.

He's 37 in April and would cost a bit of money. I know he's a solid keeper but isn't that sort of mentality what got us relegated in the first place? (hanging on to our older players past their prime)
