15 clean sheets says it all. A very confident keeper. Makes outstanding saves, talks to the defenders constantly. He is a very good keeper and wouldn’t swop him for any other keeper in the Championship… and he is one of ours ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

He has the speed of chipperclark leaving the fullback behind and the swagger and ability of Eddie Gray ( in the 70s)

Apparently when you have your Achilles snapped it becomes much stronger after an operation to fix. I did mine while playing and is Defo stronger now…so DK will come back from this setback 👍👍

Hi Liverbaggie, I think he has the “potential” of becoming a Bobby Hope type player,
But as said “big boots” to fill , but they are similar in build with that close control which is a gift. Sir Bobby was also one of my favourites in the 60s…but that team had many outstanding players

Heard reminds me of Bobby Hope. Has a good football brain, passes with great precision. He has great awareness and ball control a “schemer” for the future. We need to hang onto players like this..something special about him 👍👍👍

:o Looks like price has dropped to 25 mill. Surely someone should jump at that value

West Bromwich Albion FC / Semi Ajayi
« on: August 14, 2023, 02:11:59 AM »
:D Anybody think we should put Ajayi up front for a game or two . Think he has the attributes of being fast, can head and also can score with his feet. Might be a good target man until we get our strikers fit. Must be worth a go as an option ?

:D It’s a “nothing” cup game really. Even Gillingham beat Southampton 3-1. My only concern is the Championship and “new” owners

 >:( Well we need a few tweaks. Bartley has to start. Kipre on the bench only.
Swift was clearly p>>> off for not starting. Need to get some help for Asante who ran his balls off...hopefully Maja upfront with him together.
Mowatt has improved after his spell with Boro. Chalobah…way off the pace (couldn't be bothered). Wallace needs to pass captaincy to Bartley to improve his own game looked "worried"today and couldn't focus on his own game.

Need a left back badly...Townsend very poor today defending.   End of rant ;D ;D

:D what about the chicken farmer Alan Ashman as one of our best… was manager when we won our last trophy FA Cup 1968?? Also Meggo and Hodgson for me with Giles in the mix.
Worst Pardew, Gould and Howe.

Saw his one and only goal in a 8-1 thrashing of Burnley in 1967. A long range shot at the Brummie end. Always thought he was a very good player and good bloke

;D Remembering Dick Sheppard in the mid 60s stepping in for Ray Potter (who was in indifferent form) and playing really well for a run of about 10 games. A lot of people nervous about Sheppard playing at the time, but turned out in a positive way with Albion getting a lot of points.
No reason why Griffiths cannot do the same. COYB ;D

 ;D The Kings first home game October 1964. I was 10 and we smashed the Wolves 5-1.....Astle got 2 goals...it was a fantastic day :D :D :D

;D Has to put Josh in goal....he will probably play brilliantly and we will have all the stress disappear.

;D He's our new "Alan Ashman" fans love him, players love him and obviously the Board at Albion as well.
Feel very happy with things at the moment.
One of the things that impressed me about King Carlos was involving Bomber  with the players..... a true Albion legend and Carlos would have gained much insight into our history and great days of the 50s , 60s and 70s.

Thought he had a good match but couldn’t see much wrong when their keeper dropped the ball in his own net.important for us to be 2 up at that stage :o :o :o

:D Think he would make a great coach and possibly management in the future. Has been a great servant to our club.

Shades of 1968 here. Scrape a draw away and win the replay 4-0. :o :o
Both teams start with C both play in blue.......I think I am having deja vu....When can I buy a Cup Final ticket to Wembley as we might be playing there twice in 1 week :-X :-X :-X
Think "someone up there likes us".

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Bartley up front ???
« on: October 09, 2022, 11:38:45 AM »
I really hope you are joking….

If not… not anywhere near mobile enough
Not got the requisite ball control
Couldn’t play with back to goal
That’s 3 reasons without really trying.
We have quite a few forwards here that haven’t got ball control or can play with their backs to the goal???

West Bromwich Albion FC / Bartley up front ???
« on: October 09, 2022, 01:08:01 AM »
Don’t shoot me down in flames but what about putting Bartley up front at least till Dike back playing??
1. Would give defences a hard time physically
2. Good with his head and has scored a few like that.with Wallace pumping in the crosses.
3. We don’t have a target man in the middle like everyone else.
Happy to hear others opinions

:D Reminds me of the form Chipper Clark showed in the 60s cutting in from the left and turning the fullbacks inside and out and getting goals

:D Okay and O'Conner...only loans but they made such  a difference to the team.

I would even put my left one on saying we would have gone up this year if Okay was taken in when we had  a chance.
Also think the same if Dike had stayed fit.

Also agree with someone who said Mowatt has been poor since he got "Knobbled" by Allen at Stoke....not the same player since (think it was a broken foot?).

I don't understand this squad. They are playing the Albion way to the hilt - win the hardest ones, lose everything else.

It really is the hope that kills you. I'll be happy this year with a few more performances like last night's.
;D To be honest we were like that in the great 1960s give the big teams a hiding then lose to a lower club. That was probably why we were mid 1st Division in the early mid 60s.

« on: April 06, 2022, 12:03:59 AM »
:D We need someone "strong" to sort this shambles out ie Roy Keane? John Terry? to not take this "mamby pamby" standard of football.
They should tell the players straight off "If you don't want to play for this club and give 110% ..there the door".

Some sort of "Shake-Up" is needed for these blokes.....total rubbish at the moment...my Granny would show more commitment >:( >:( >:(
