Worst bit of Albion merchandise ever?
« on: November 25, 2023, 08:33:04 PM »
I found an unofficial WBA calendar for 2024 today, made by thw usually brilliant World Soccer Magazine and Match.

Titled "West Brom Legends", it includes the most random group of "legends" i've ever seen:

Kevin Campbell
Jed Wallace
Matt Phillips
Gareth Barry
Darnell Furlong
Cedric Kipre
Darren Fletcher
Okay Yokuslu
John Swift
Neil Clement
Brandon Thomas-Asante
Semi Ajayi

Does this win the title of worst ever Albion merchandise, or can anyone top trumps it?

The fact it goes back as far as Neil Clement but has nobody else from that time is interesting.

I once had a badge from Malaysia that said “I’m a West Brown fan”  ;D

I bought a USA style baseball shirt with baggies on the front and a massive old albion badge circle at the back. It's made by Starter and I have no recollection what possessed me to buy it from the club shop (probably on sale and I was the only sucker to bite).

I don't even like baseball as find the game boring and way too long.

In all honesty I have a lot of never worn wear brom stuff bought in the sales, but that is the most foolish purchase.

I had Albion Manager on PC back when we were under Megson, perhaps. It was like a stripped down Championship Manager, and it was fairly dire if memory serves.

I bought a copy of that. Signed by Big Dave at the old Merry Hill club shop.

I saw one in Greece with that slogan. Nearly bought it for its sheer hilarity.

Don't know about the worst merch but the best one has to be the Guochuan Lai Punch Bag. Oh, wait, that was just a dream I had.

Me too, it was very easy though. I remember once it bugged and I was stuck with the same player forever.

Sounds quite realistic with some of the contracts we’ve been handing out in the last few seasons! 😀

Someone on social media yesterday was calling for new contracts for Bartley and Phillips.  :o

I think I was just a bit young and couldn't play it properly - I seemed to either fail to get promoted, in which case I was sacked, or I'd spend a load of money of Free Agents and get promoted, but get sacked the following year for losing control of the wage budget...

Having been to the Club Shop recently, that Away Kit is truly awful thank god they had third kit scarfs as they had no Home ones left, Who would buy that awful colour as a Scarf, And I got the Home Shirt, didn't see how many Baby Vomit shirts were left. And Half and Half Scarfs or Shirts I agree with.

No you weren't, I bought one too - still got it, just waiting for a suitable fancy dress party to come up....

My brother got me an unfathomably large gift shop card. So for the first time in an age I looked and there’s one hoodie I sort of like the look of that’s it. The shop is very low rent sadly, a lot of tat.

I do find it a Micky take that we can use club vouchers for tickets. I get that the club have them as different budgets. But still. Annoying!

Not official merch but there is a gift shop in Prague that does football team Russian Dolls. I got an Albion one about 10 years back featuring Odemwingie, Brunt etc, I do wonder who they'd include these days as it is very much still going.

Weirdly enough I was bought this actual calendar for Xmas this year (by a female family member who knows zero about football let alone Albion!) and bought it to work today, it is now in my bottom draw and that is where it will remain until its binned!  ;D

Not Albion merchandise, but I was gifted an Aston Villa puzzle by one of my Dads Villa supporting friends when I was a kid. He thought it would be funny to buy me this for Christmas from a charity shop. The joke was on him though as his eyesight wasn’t the best and it turned out to be Burnley.
