Bit confused with this if the reports we are after holgate again are correct. Unless holgate will come in as a first choice centre half with ajeyi playing holding mid

Given the paucity of quality at Slav’s disposal it makes sense to get cover with potential into the club
the road to the summit has dips, keep the faith when navigating those dips !!

Would be good cover. Good age and a good price. Praying we can get Holgate in as well.

QPR fans moaning that £1.5 million is too cheap - suggests he is a good buy at that price but honestly I know little about him.

Saw it in Brum Mail mate. If we sign Holgate  for CB who goes?

Nobody. Hegazi and Holgate would start. Bartley and O'shea provide cover. Ajayi is better in midfield.

£1.5m in today's market is peanuts. Gotta be worth a punt at that price.

I don't know much about him. QPR fans seem split, half moaning at selling their better young players and other half saying he is pretty average and can't play much football. He's a body at least. I presume he didn't play in that 7-0?

Some of the Albion twitterati suggesting Furlong is very much a Dowling buy, hence the specualtion surrounding Holgate. Slav apparently not keen on the QPR man.

I take it all with a pinch of salt tbh.

We're not sure how long before we see Hegazi, and were never sure which Bartley we going to get, so getting cover in is a wise move

Why have folk got an hang up over Dowling .I suppose it's because the deal is only 1.5. People stop addind2+2 and coming up with 5 and get real

Yes indeed. I think Bartley is ok in a proper back 4 with a DM in front. This is the way we have been most successful. Need to build from the back. Then get the rest sorted. We have had all this attacking stuff and gung ho! Hodgson put reality into the side with cleaver team selections.
From what I see (And early days yet) Slaven is astute enough to put the jigsaw in place and play his players where they are comfortable?
If Furlong comes and Holgate? But not settled as yet.

7-1 actually, we didn't do clean sheets last season remember  ;D

To answer your question, no he wasn't even in the squad that day, perhaps he was injured..

A friend who is a QPR season ticket holder told me that Furlong is a real fans favourite who he believed will do well at West Brom.

I like the sound of this one. A young player at a good price. We need strong competition in all areas not just squad fillers. For too long we've had players playing regularly regardless of form as there is no one pushing them.

This in am intelligent signing, fully on board with this one. He is a squad player from everything I have read, putting in decent but not earth shattering performances at QPR, but we are getting him at a low cost, is young enough at 23 to improve and can cover 2 positions.

This frees up money to get other players thanks to him covering a couple of gaps.

Wouldn't give the Brum Mail any credit - they nicked it from the Express and Star as they always do.
As for signing Furlong and Holgate, we clearly need defensive reinforcements so no surprise after both.
We need to have a right back and cover.
Wilson, I would imagine, will head out on loan again, hopefully with more league one game time next season

Solid signing with championship experience, young, athletic and another bargain fee for a position we need filling.

Imagine this will get announced once Nyom officially goes.

It would seem from their forums not all QPR fans agree with your friend .
