We can't lose mate. They won the European Cup and are a top 4 club whereas we are little Albion only in the Prem to make the numbers up.  8)

I never knew they won the European cup  ;) First i've heard about it haha.

I hope we stuff them, and i think we can but i just dont want to be too cocky!!!

All my years watching us play them, we only ever seem to beat them 1-0 or 2-1, we have never given them a thumping, I mean 4 - 0 or more. I have seen them do it to us but never seen it in our favour

The fact is he is right to most Villa fans we arent a rival compared to Blues. There was 33k at the game last year if it was Blues there would have been over 40k same as Sunday I cant see there being more than 34-35k there.

To be fair there is enough there to worry us, there are worse front lines than Bent and Benteke with N'Zogbia, Agbonlahor, Bannon, Ireland or Albrighton backing them up. I think the defense is their weak link but this is far from a guaranteed win so I for one will not be so cocky to laugh at the squad BEFORE we have played them!

Midfield is Villa`s weakest point and has been since Milner and Barry left.
I`d defo take Clark and Viaar as a centre back partnership.
When Villa get relegated I`d like us to put a bid in for that young Clark as he`s very underated.

While I agree with you on the fact that we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves and think this will be a walk in the park! They have more to fear from us going into this fixture then we do of them!

Fair play to them, they look like they want to be replicating the near neighbour's trick of winning the League Cup and going down. :o :P

Just a reminder of what their 'poor' squad can do to us Sunday if we don't give it 100%

They have a better set of players than people realise and a good manager. Sunday will be a tough game, but id take a point, as in every derby game.

And every away Premierleague game. Anyone who thought it was going to be a walk over Sunday was very deluded.

I don't know what to expect from them. A capitulation or a good solid performance like they've obviously put out tonight. Inconsistency might be their biggest problem. Still, I hope and pray to god that we batter them!

FFS they beat a team who don't give a monkeys about this competition. They were off the back off an embarrassing result and a response was demanded.

It will be a tough game on Sunday (I'd take a draw too), but we have a better team.

If we play as we did in our first three games I believe we will win if we play as we have in our last 2 I believe we will struggle.

Sounds really obvious but i think first goal is crucial, if they get it, on the back of tonights win then it will make for a tough afternoon for us, the confidence will be up, the fans will be thinking there season has finally started and get behind them.

However if we score first i think the exact opposite happens, they will turn on them, they expect to take points off us (like i expect us to take points off them) they have proved the last two games that a young team blows hot and cold, Saints they got destroyed and yet tonight go up and batter Man City, and it dont matter what team Man City put out it will have a lot of good players so fair play to Villa there.

Our team and squad i think is better than theirs on ability alone but take into account other factors, derby game, home advantage, good win tonight, etc, etc i would take a point for sure on sunday.

I think its only prudent now to appease the gods of football, with cautious optimism going into sundays game against villa. And scalp a scouse football team tommorow to show due reverence!

Not keen on some of the cockiness but then again I hardly celebrate goals if I'm not at a game as I know it's not over till the final whistle. If there's anybody from Cornwall here I'll be in bunters in truro watching the game!

I'll settle for a point. I do think we have a better all round squad and are in better form but theres just that niggle .
