Do players train the day after the season has finished then? I thought that was it now for players until July.

Maybe going in to collect things before they go off for their break, have a chat about the season etc. I wouldn't say they've gone in for training other than maybe a warm down after the game yesterday

not training in the true sense of the word they just get weighed and BMI taken, plus they get exercise schedules and diet programmes to stop them getting too out of condition during the summer.
Normally they get quite big fines if they go back after summer carrying too much weight

Its inevitable I think, his position has become untenable.

Lambert or Martinez next I reckon.

I think the funniest next managerial appointment for Villa would be Bob Bradley. My Villa mates were up in arms the last time he was touted for the job, just imagine what they would be like if he got it.

I think Villas next appointment will be a popular one, Lerner has ballsed up the last two and their fans have lost interest, he has to get this one right else Walsall will have bigger gates.

Although we are better than Villa at the moment, in one conversation to potential managers Lerner can make them more appealing than us - Money! Whether he can be bothered or not is another thing but he has the money to be able to say to a new manager, right here is 50m, we cannot do that and if it came down to a straight toss up on that basis, i think most managers will go the Villa over us.

If he wants another season like the last of cost cutting, trimming the bills, etc then i would say we are more appealing than Villa, basically its down to what the Randy one wants to do!

Get in! I want Lambert or AVB, but knowing Lerner it will be Avram Grant, McCarthy or Bruce.

If the new manager is decent and plays decent football he will be worshipped after the worst and most hated manager in our history.
Did you know we won the European Cup?

You can always throw all toys out of prams again and hound them out of the club.

Guardiola is in Brum today I hear, must be on the way for talks. After all you won the European Cup once  :o

Dunelm Mill are filing for administration as we speak. Bed sheet sales are expected to fall dramatically until at least September  ;)

In terms of finance, size of club etc they are a better option for a manager however in terms of current standing and the way managers have been treated by fans our class rises above.

Been treated by fans? We were right from day one about McLeish, we knew he was clueless and warned Lerner not to appoint him and look what happened.

I'm disappointed that the rotten Villa fans have got their way but hopefully Lerner makes an appointment which will pee them off. McLeish wasn't given any time, nor money to succeed but the totally boring football also doesn't help matters. In the two occasions we've played one another they have been absolutely woeful. I think he'll struggle finding a job in England.

Wouldn't surprise me if McLeish applies for your job, his confidence knows no bounds and he thinks he's a fantastic Premier League manager.

Villa fans arrogance shines through yet again.

They should be ashamed at hounding out a manager even before he joined the club.

He has kept a Villa side that despite Villa fans deluded views werent 'too good too go down' but a Villa side whoose board have sold the family silver in Downing and Barry and rely on their only bit of gold left in Darren Bent.

Ask yourself this The board appointed Big Eck yet didnt back him with funds so why would the board treat any new manager any different?'

Face it the funds are not there anymore.

Villa fans hounded out the only Chairman who was ever interested in Villa and its traditions out the club for this saviour from America who was going to lead them back to the glory days.
