West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Jed Wallace
« on: March 08, 2023, 12:22:41 PM »
Yup I got pelters for saying something similar earlier in the season. For what we’re paying in wages he doesn’t produce enough. Half decent championship player at best.
So who in your opinion would you say has looked better than Wallace this season? The only ones that come close to him for me are Molumby (for effort) and Yokuslu (eventually, once up to fitness)

Apparently his contract at Al-Hilal has been terminated.
Leicester, Leeds, Fulham, Southampton, Brentford - someone of that stature in the prem will snap him up, especially on a free!! Be good to see him back in this country and showing what he can do, unfortunately we can't afford him, those days are a distant memory, plus its better to not get back with an ex, it never works!  ;D

That is assuming he comes back to England

Have seen it said that. Chesterfield fan had managed to get a brick in and chucked it , was that the cause perhaps ?
I honestly don't know, an empty plastic bottle or two was threw in our direction but I don't know about bricks, this was one of their fans not ours that was bleeding.....

There fans were a little wound up last night, my ST is next to the divide. We took the Darcy advert out to allow more of them, made for a better atmosphere as they were taking the bait all night  ;D

Although slightly worrying, a young fan of theirs (11-12ish) was taken out in tears with blood trickling down his head, and whoever he was with was fuming at the coppers.

Bristol City have the lowest amount of awarded penaltys all across Europe, over the last two years so tell your players to fill there boots.
Your players won't be penalised for bad tackles in the Penalty area
Brilliant cheers for the intel mate, I will personally pop down the training ground and let all the players know infoman said to fill your boots and foul as much as you like in your own penalty area, that should guarantee us the win!  ::) ::)

Unpopular opinion maybe but I am more than happy that he is staying, he has done more than most before him. People say he is negative but he changed his approach this world cup and banged in a fair few goals, we lost a toss of a coin match by the finest of margins. The players speak highly of him too, I think our fans expect us to win every tournament, which is bizarre as we have won nothing for 56 years and counting.....

Words fail me......

Contract extended to end of 2024 due to triggering appearance clause.

I thought this current year was an extension already?

EDIT - He will be 33 by time we can get rid. Wonder if performances will revert to earlier this season levels now he's secure.
Two or three good performances dont change the fact he is not what we need long term, bad bad bad decision in my eyes, no doubt Jake will follow now!  :'(

Very much Albion related, but as we don't have anyone going to the WC this year, its England only. As a fan of Messi, it would be nice to see him lift the trophy in his 1000th professional game as long as it wasn't against us!

Apparently is at the training ground literally all day.

Feels good having someone that cares.
We are still haggling the price for his digs in a HMO at the moment  ;D ;D ;D

Were those odds via an app or was it online anywhere. I only ask as I checked Sky Bet and Oddschecker online a couple minutes after you posted this and he most definitely wasn't favourite on either site but has jumped up since. It's almost as though someone somewhere knows who's coming in and is trying to manipulate the odds in their favour somehow.
It was on the app (skybet), 20-1 to 3-1 and now 4/5 fav

I think both want it but Corberan is chep as chips so he's the favourite for me
2-1 fav now, but that will be on the back of Talksport announcing hes had two interviews I would imagine.

This would stink of an Ismael appointment in my eyes, one decent season with an unfancied club and our heads are turned (forgetting the fact he was sacked by Olympiakos after 11 games!)

A couple of weeks ago, I entered a ballot for tickets to the Ashes Test Match at Edgbaston and have just received an email notifying me that I'm a winner and will be going to Day 4 of the match on Monday, 19th June 2023.

I'm absolutely chuffed!
Thats it rub it in! I also entered the ballot but I have had the 'unfortunately you have not been selected as a winner in this ballot' email  :(

In a battle of the ' TWITTER ITK's'  ;D    Sooty has gone against DOOD comments and said WBA have no plans to change manager imminently

This is probably more realistic under Lai and Ron. Sleepwalk us off a cliff they would.
It was Snarka's response that hit home for me, saying he has spoken to a director today and they stated they have full confidence that Bruce will turn it around!  :o ???

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: start a campaign to get rid of that drum
« on: October 04, 2022, 08:56:00 AM »
No disrespect to anyone on this thread, which I haven't read fully, but I'd hoped i'd missed a nickname for one of hierarchy, when reading the title, but instead it perfectly demonstrates the apathy of us Albion fans.

When we should be raging hard against the owner taking club generated funds as loans and missing repayments and rumours of a ground sale and being led by an habitual  failure like Gourlay and his appointment of our mismanager Bruce, we start a campaign against a drum.

I am not saying a drum in your ear for 90 minutes isn't annoying at all BTW.
To be fair to people in this thread it was started 3 years ago way before Gourlay, Bruce and loan gate, etc, its just got mentioned again as the drum was absent Saturday!

In recent times I can only recall fans turning on Pulis, Pardew, and now Bruce. Moore, Bilic, and going back to Clarke, D-Matteo, Hodgson I don't remember the fans booing or trying to get them out..
Irvine, Ismael....

Wilder won't be here anyway that's for sure.
There's a few on Twitter wanting Wilder up here, forget it! according to Alex Crook on Talksport last week, Wilder had become disillusioned with the Boro board for not backing him in the transfer market, and it went rapidly down hill from there.

On that note he would be great fit here then wouldn't he!?!

West Bromwich women's team are switching from white shorts to navy.
They can then focus on performance without the anxiety of periods.Shouldn't our men's team also play in navy shorts, so as to lessen pressure on the women?
What pressure? They have changed colour of shorts as it suits them and puts them at ease, so they are now happier, whats the mens team got to do with it?

I wish you’d had a chance to talk to people behind the scenes back then.

You would come to a very different view.
I was at a Mozza/ Brunty function last night and Pepe Mel was talked about, they both said it was a nightmare chapter. He used to play Al Pacino clips to try and motivate them, saying he speaks better English than me so that was his team talks :)

Rather than the bit about injury I thought you were going to end with 'sell him on January 1st and announce shareholder dividend next day'  ;D .
Still very much #albionthat , the options are endless with us and that hash tag!! ;D
