The problems start when we try to slow it down (Palmer main culprit), we invite them on and end up with everyone behind the ball and no outlet to attack. We made them look bad in the first 20 and we are now making them look good!

I agree, we need to control centre midfield a little more. There’s too big a gap between our centre backs which we were lucky Pompey didn’t get through. Also our two cb’s are not the best on the ball we need to give them an out into the midfield, we need more movement for them to pass to.

Swansea also playing on Wednesday which might help depending on how seriously they take it

Going to be a hard but good Championship this year. Quite a few good squads that you couldn’t really predict the scores plus the surprise results it’s going to be good one

I’m going for a close 1-2 win

All things considered the squad is better at present than I thought it would be, there hasn’t been the mass exodus I feared, we’ve had a few players sign extensions and a few that a lot balked out have gone (some still here)
SP has brought new hope whilst being realistic with what can be done with the funds available. Yes a proven or capable goal scorer would be nice but..I still expect us to be battling at the right end of the table.
A good time to be a Baggie me thinks

Time for fresh legs? Not quite sure who I’d sub. Maja not doing much but he’s not getting service.

A tight game and probably a fair score at HT.
Both teams capable of a piece of magic or… a mistake at the back. I’d be happy with a point but would also like to see CC go for it. It’s there for the taking.

In fairness both yellows were very soft

In fairness they haven’t created much to threaten us

They have so much time on the ball, we’re letting them play through us.
We need to put them under a bit of pressure….and stop giving the ball away

I think we shouldn’t start resting people, play the strongest team and get points on the board, especially after last nights results. We have a good chance over the next two games to put ourselves in prime play off position.
If we are guaranteed a play off position then rest people. I don’t think it matters if we are 5th or 6th, we are capable of beating (and losing to unfortunately) any of the other play off contenders.
Let’s win the supposedly ‘easier games’ if there is such a thing!! Minimal tinkering with the mainstay team.

I fear this is going to be a tough game, Warnock (as much as I dislike him) isn’t daft and will know our weaknesses. They will bombard our box with a physical aerial assault, something he knows how to do oh so well. We have to keep on the front foot and score a few and not sit back and invite them on as I think they’ll also score.
Think I’d play Bartley - not because I feel he’s any better but at least he can attack the ball with his head from corners/free kicks and crosses (which we can’t stop coming in)
Another 4-2 or 3-2 rollercoaster me thinks, not sure who to though, hopefully us obviously. You watch probably a 0-0 borefest now!!

A strange season!! At the start of it most people would have been happy with Preston, Coventry, Luton and Millwall in their run in. Now they’re happy to play us and Watford!! Is the league close or just poor quality?

Neither Dike or BTA are anywhere near good enough
Agreed, you never think they’re going to make something happen.

Pedro sums up for me what I hate about the game, goes down rolling around, Wallace picks him up and he’s miraculously better kicking off😡. Probably wouldn’t have minded it so much had we stuffed them!!
3 bad defensive goals, all three could have been avoided. Each game I say I won’t let it bother me but…
Wallace for me created problems, Grady and molumby did add energy, the rest ???

Furlong playing like he came across in a sky sports interview…half bothered!
Not much to cheer about at present, it’s not like Watford are any good.
Can’t believe I’m thinking give Grant a go, not confident in Dike though either. BTA no threat tonight.

Did Albrighton play left at Leicester? Makes no sense to play Wallace out of his best position especially as Albrighton doesn’t create as much.

Feel a bit for Griffiths, come in at a time when the team in front of him is not playing too well . A baptism of fire. We could do with a bit more energy in the middle.
BTA needs to run near post at times, he’s not the tallest for the back post

May be not too bad a thing Bartley isn’t quite ready yet as he’s not the fastest and they do seem quick on the break.
We need to put them under pressure and I think we’ll score, if we let them press us they will score.
2-1 to the Baggies

Better start though

Bring Dike on and let him try bully them in younger Lukaku manner. Give them something to think about. TGH also for Phillips.
