Generally, in my lifetime, games against Fulham are always remembered for the wrong reasons. I'll never  forget walking out of Craven Cottage feeling utterly dejected after that Bouba Diop winner in 04/05. Especially after playing a well as we did. I was certain we were going down at that point.  I also remember them coming to the Hawthorns and giving us a footballing lesson under Jean Tigana in 2000. Their team had the likes of Saha, Boa Morte, Fabrice Fernandes, Stolcers, and a few others on huge wages for that level. Fulham brought about 1,000 fans - tops, and you hardly heard a peep out of them all game. "You're GOOD, but you've got NO fans!"  ;D

It is a mistake to theorize before one has the facts. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts.

Is this on the tele?
« Reply #32 on: January 23, 2012, 06:07:41 PM »
As the title of the thread suggests is this game on the tele anywhere? I seem to remember somewhere from a distant corner of my mind saying it was moved to be on the tele and being on the Wednesday and an 8 o'clock kick has made me think it is? I did also make a similar assumption about Newcastle away though!

Cheers, I did just, eventually, manage to find a full sky and espn games listing and it isn't on there  :( Seems odd to have it on the Wednesday though, must have been for policing reasons or something.

Aug 17 1974 Albion 0 Fulham 1.

Nothing worse than starting a season with a home defeat. This was our second season in Div 2 and less than 11,500 turned up to witness a depressing start. Things didn't get any better and mercifully Howe was gone before the season had ended.

Giles the saviour arrived in summer 1975 and the rest is history!

I think this'll be the first time Roy will have been back to Craven Cottage after he left for Liverpool isn't it? I know last season he managed to avoid going there by leaving Liverpool before playing them and joining us after the catastrophe we left there. :-X
It will be his first time back at Fulham, since he left them.

Might have to wait till after sat for injuries, general fitness.  3 games in 8 days, must be a case for a bit of squad rotation, horses for courses etc - maybe a similar set up to Stoke here, Tamas at RB rather than Jara, 451...

Also, compare the different defences that we'll have had there from last year.! ;D

Potentially this season:

Shorey    Olsson    McAuley   Jones
                      Foster

Against the injury madness last season:

Cech    Zuiverloon     Jara      Hurst
                     Carson

Long way much? :P

Did Cech get injured early and Shorey come on? Or the other way around.

We actually defended very well in the first half until a certain goalkeeper threw a clanger - perhaps the low point of last season.
