West Bromwich Albion FC / The demise of West Bromwich Albion fc
« on: September 01, 2023, 09:30:15 AM »
This great club a founder member of the League is on the brink I will remember the many great players who have worn the famous blue and white stripes but today I just don't recognize the club it's heart and soul are being ripped out.
I'm struggling to come to terms with the mess this club is in how can anyone in business make such a  shambles of everything?
If we lose some of our best players today we will do well to avoid relegation then we will have a repeat of this season.
Walsall will be our big derby game.

General Football & Sports / Leeds Players
« on: May 01, 2023, 01:43:52 PM »
Have any of you seen the pictures of Leeds players ignoring their own fans including little kids? Who do these pampered pompous prats think they are I wouldn't want any of them near the Albion team.
Fans are the club, not these mercenaries there just to pick up their inflated wages then on to the next mugs.
I thought when the Premier League started it would ruin the game and that's precisely what it's done.

There's to be a drama about Cyrille, Laurie and Brendon this should be cracking my only fear is they make it too woke and ruin what should be a really interesting storyline, fingers crossed.

General Football & Sports / Pick a player of the last 30yrs
« on: November 29, 2022, 10:02:14 AM »
you would have liked to have seen in an Albion shirt.
I would go for Stevie Gerrard he made his debut for Liverpool on this day 1998, what a player looking at the clips on twitter he's even better than I thought he was. He's the closest that I have seen to Bryan Robson who was my favourite player even with the likes of Cyrille and Laurie for competition.

West Bromwich Albion FC / West Brom or the World Cup?

Which would you rather be watching? I have no interest in this World Cup so the next few weeks are going to be boring.

Sad to hear of the passing of John Evans a good servant for the club and Albion through and through RIP.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Red Cards
« on: February 10, 2022, 04:50:56 PM »
It must be a record-breaking season for us with red cards we have collected more red cards than points recently.
I don't see games so can't reliably comment but from the views of others, it strikes me we are being hard done by the referee fraternity.

I really don't know if these should be going ahead but hats off to the Japanese they have made an announcement a few weeks ago but I have only just heard of it that is insisting that it is a sporting event and will see to it that it stays that way, that's how you run a tournament.

Charged with saying something that someone took offense to, now we all know the banter flys thick and fast amongst footballers or a group of men in general I wonder if this is just another over-reaction that is now commonplace in today's world.....thoughts?

West Bromwich Albion FC / Your most depressing time as an Albion fan.
« on: November 29, 2018, 10:26:21 AM »
Reading the comments after an excellent 3pts at Swansea where some of our fans seem to be taking lessons from Mark Carney in hyperbole overkill I thought this topic would both suit them and maybe help them count their blessings.
Having followed Albion from the mid-60s I have seen great teams and awful teams in the blue and white stripes but for me the most depressing was the spell under Saunders it didn't last long but after watching great football for most of the previous years watching his Pulis type football see us lose week in week out truly awful signings and selling Bully to our down and out neighbours he must rank as our worst ever manager.

General Football & Sports / Worst thugs/ dirtty teams you have seen.
« on: February 02, 2018, 01:37:40 PM »
This has come to mind because of the pathetic bunch at Man City who have never seen a real tackle.
No doubt football has got softer with the passage of time, the worst display i ever saw was Red Star against Cyrille and co we all felt sick when they knocked us out but the manner in which we lost left a bitter taste.
Over the years the worst side consistently has to be Stoke who had a team who played football for about two years in the 70s.
We all know the names from the 70s Chopper Harris , bite yeah legs Hunter every team had a minder so who do you remember?

West Bromwich Albion FC / WBA - Tyler Roberts sold to Leeds

According to reports Tyler Roberts could be on the way to Rangers in Scotland, we could regret not getting this kid signed up to a long deal.

Quite a few ex baggies on this years list.

In years gone by these players would have a team but no doubt the wages they want means they are not fixed up.

Today 15yrs ago we had just got promoted back to the top division where we belong, what a day and the cherry on the top was beating Wolves to it.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Last minute goals.
« on: March 24, 2017, 02:35:33 PM »
Another poster got me to thinking we should have a thread on last minute goals as they always get the full reaction from fans.
One i remember i was in the car in a queue dropping some rubbish at Cannock waste thorouhly peeved off as we were 1-0 down to vile with time almost up when up popped Robbo with the equaliser, i went nuts in the car and when i finally calmed down i noticed those in cars around me looking at me in a strange way happy days  :D.
P S it was our great escape season so was even more important than usual.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Baggies Fans
« on: March 03, 2013, 03:47:31 PM »
Do we have the most miserable pessimistic fans in the Country?.
We are currently having our best season in about 30yrs and yet the moaning on this and other Baggie sites seems to get worse on a weekly basis.
All of the clubs in our area besides Walsall are in deep trouble and have genuine reasons to be fed up.
Is it a football fans lot to be miserable or are we just good at it.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Issiah Brown
« on: January 25, 2013, 09:34:05 AM »
A report in the B'ham Mail that Arsenal are sniffing around Issiah Brown and will make an offer when he turns 17.
Clubs should have some protection against these sort of approaches
