West Bromwich Albion FC / Bartley up front ???
« on: October 09, 2022, 01:08:01 AM »
Don’t shoot me down in flames but what about putting Bartley up front at least till Dike back playing??
1. Would give defences a hard time physically
2. Good with his head and has scored a few like that.with Wallace pumping in the crosses.
3. We don’t have a target man in the middle like everyone else.
Happy to hear others opinions

West Bromwich Albion FC / Midfield creator
« on: February 09, 2022, 11:49:34 PM »
We need a midfielder to pull the strings....we don't have one at all. Even a Diame (at 34) or Wilshire (30) would give us a lot more creativity than we have at the moment which is zero.

That is what's wrong with the last third. Think Bruce will have to go out and get one of these type of players even if their legs are going...but they have a "football" brain at least.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Playing for the shirt
« on: January 29, 2022, 11:50:40 PM »
 >:( Do these players know what playing for the shirt means??
Bomber Brown, The King,Graham Williams, Bobby Hope,Ronnie Allen and Ray Barlow did💖 What does it mean to the current lot of players....no pride, passion, play till you drop??? I am astonished and 😢 sad

West Bromwich Albion FC / Sawyers back ?
« on: November 27, 2021, 05:52:53 AM »
:D Anyone think we should get him back ... at least he can put his foot on the ball and pass. Doing ok at Stoke and scoring a few.
Never thought I would want him back but he looks like a star ⭐️ Compared to the players we have at the moment

West Bromwich Albion FC / Upfront striker
« on: November 13, 2021, 11:43:43 PM »
 >:( This seems to be the weakest area in the team . I will throw a cat among the pidgeons and suggest a possible target man could be Semi Ajayi.
Before everyone shoots me down think of the following
1. Has the height and physique to worry opponents defences
2. He is quick
3. Has scored some vital goals for us with his head and feet
4.Has good movement and runs into space well
5. Couldn’t be any worse than what we have.
6. Remembering they turned John Kaye from a striker to a centre back with great success.
Food for thought ??🤔🤔🤔

West Bromwich Albion FC / Black Strip
« on: October 21, 2021, 03:49:26 AM »
Get rid of that “useless”BLACK STRIP” it is bringing us bad luck...we have hardly won with it. Yellow is great and we have had success with it...at least the players can see yellow to pass the ball to??  :o

West Bromwich Albion FC / Albion fans care
« on: January 27, 2021, 12:11:34 AM »
??? I don't often have a "negative" expression on this site but today I am having a right go at the whole situation we are in.

1. I have supported Albion since 10 October 1964 and have never been this down with the situation  we are in.

2. A complete "inept" showing by the team, over the season. No player got a better score than a 2 today from me.

3. I realise we are a Championship team playing in the Greed league, but these blokes are not giving a toss.

4. Can someone please write a letter to Slaven and ask him to come "home" and be our coach in the Championship next year.

5. SA please walk. Lai please sell you are killing our beloved club...we will be playing Walsall, Stockport and Blackpool (again) very soon at this rate.

6. I cannot even speak about the lack of money given to spend on "new" players it is a complete farce.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Rondon

 >:( Can anyone explain what happened to the 30 mill Rondon money??? Rodriguez money etc etc.
Or has it evaporated??

West Bromwich Albion FC / Mondelez sponsorship
« on: November 17, 2020, 02:09:44 AM »
;D This is a massive deal for us from a company that is worth $85 Billion. Own Oreo, Kraft, Cadbury, Frys ,Ritz and many more snackfood companies.

I am really hoping there is something in the air on this. They could write a cheque for the whole club with a snap of the fingers.

Great news looking forward to ,maybe, new developments???. :o :o :o

West Bromwich Albion FC / Who would you like to go up with us?

West Bromwich Albion FC / Happiest memory as a Baggies fan
« on: December 04, 2018, 06:09:44 AM »
;D Someone had to start this post...as the "worst baggies memory"is already posted.

So will set the ball rolling with my first ever Albion Match October 10th 1964,at the Hawthorns,The Kings home debut.

Albion 5  Wolves 1 (The King 2 goals)....say no more. :D A very happy 10 year old.

;D No point playing the "normal" team...enough has been said about them. We are down and now is the time for re-building for the Championship. My suggestions would be

1. Drop the Taxigate 4.

2. Put in Field,Leko and anyone who can "run" and pass.

3. Keep these players, who at least put in a "shift", Fozz Daws,Hegazi,Yacob,Rondon,Brunt,Nyom.  The rest will be leaving for sure anyway so whats the point in playing them.

4.If we know who is staying we need to play them every week,so that we can get the next season going from the "off".

5. Might as well leave AP there to the "merciless" end and search for an up and coming manager (preferably from overseas).

6. Get a new "scouting" team...and throw Hammond out.

I am happy to listen to anymore ideas on our situation as fellow fans who care for their Club and its future.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Bottom 3
« on: December 13, 2017, 05:00:59 AM »
??? Well we are in the bottom 3 for the first time in 2 years.Hopefully we will be looking upwards in the next few months.
Huddersfield,Brighton,Newcastle and the Clayheads look to be around us also as they have no form.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Who was our best Manager ?
« on: November 01, 2017, 04:33:04 AM »
;D I will set the ball rolling so I am giving Alan Ashman the nod....the last time we won a trophy 1968 FA Cup he was in charge.

Originally a "chicken farmer" from Cumbria. He was softly spoken and got us playing out of our skins in the late 1960s. Had respect from the players such as Hope, Astle,Clark, Kaye and Bomber.

PS He wouldn't let go of the FA Cup in the aftermath celebrations. Top man ;D ;D

West Bromwich Albion FC / Set-up at the back
« on: February 19, 2017, 11:27:12 PM »
A lot of teams are playing with 3 backs and 3 defensive midfielders.I think we could adopt this system well...but think TP likes a back four and two DM's.

I would have Nyom, Dawson and Evans line up with Yacob, Fletcher and Livermore as the 3 DM's,adding support to both midfield and the back 3.

Just a thought and open to suggestions from the site? ;D

So a formation similar to this             Fozz
                                            Nyom   Dawson   Evans
                                           Livermore Yacob Fletcher
                                            Chadli  Mozza   Phillips
                                                       Rondon

Albion Matchday Forum / Drinking???
« on: March 09, 2015, 12:48:17 AM »
:'( Obviously the "blame for all this pitch invasion and throwing seats"is down to being able to drink from Opening time at the Pubs...till say 5pm.
That is a long drinking session and many people were observed to be "legless" as they entered the ground.

Blame must go onto the TV stations for letting it be a 5-30 K.O. If it was a Midday K.O all this wouldn't have happened.

Mindless supporters loaded up with "drink" in a "Cup derby" will only lead to trouble.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Nicknames of our players.
« on: September 30, 2014, 05:22:07 AM »
;D I know we have Fozz, Mozza and Dozza.....what are some of the other "nicknames'' of the current players???

Even some old players eg Bomber(Brown), Chipper(Clark), Ozzie(Osborne), Yorky (Kaye)?? ;)

West Bromwich Albion FC / Early Goals Conceded
« on: September 19, 2014, 12:24:46 AM »
;D It ain't "Rocket science" that we are conceding goals early in the game.

 1. We have been playing with one or no defensive midfielders,in front of of our "vulnerable"defence. We miss Yacob to break up play (he should play every week)

 2. The first 10 mins of any game should be to focus on a defensive formation with mid-field working extremely hard.

 3.  Players, mentally, are not ready to play,so lapses in concentration early on...players need to be fired up 10 mins before they go out on the pitch.

 4.  Why am I writing this? Irvine should have all this covered with his tactics and his motivational speeches...or is it all at the "training ground"??

West Bromwich Albion FC / Starting XI & Formation 14/15
« on: July 08, 2014, 08:16:42 AM »
;D Would be interested to see how us supporters see this going this season?

I feel we will play 3 at the back, with 2 wing-backs, 4 in the middle and 1 up front??
So something like this!!

                                                             Fozz

                                   G/Mac / Dawson  Olsson     Lescott

                        Baird/Hutton                                             Olsson?? (Norwich)

                         Sess         Gardner/Dorrans     Mulumbu     Berahino

                                                 Anichebe/ New striker???

« on: June 15, 2014, 11:50:54 PM »
:) Tim on behalf of West Bromwich Albion fans (99%) I would like to apologise for your non-appointment.
As you can see we are a club of "passionate" supporters....lead by a Chairman with NO AMBITION,GREEDY,NON-INTEREST IN THE CLUB,CHEAP OPTION EXPERT.

I was looking forward to a "fresh" change and excitement in the coming season. You would have attracted some good players and your "passion" would have pulled the team together for a healthy mid-table finish.

All we have to look forward to now is another dismal season with relegation inevitable. :'(

West Bromwich Albion FC / Dear Mr Peace and Mr Mel
« on: January 30, 2014, 04:39:25 AM »
Dear Mr Peace and Mr Mel,

I am a 4th generation Albion fan and 59 years of age. I started supporting Albion in 1964 and have gone through all the dramas associated with being a supporter of this great club.
I have all the confidence in your decisions and implementations of running our great club.
I guess you can call me an "armchair" supporter as I now watch most of the games on "pay"TV in Australia.
I have been a coach of many teams (at junior and youth level) and have a reasonable knowledge of the game.
I now have to ask why? oh why? are we perservering with Stephen Reid and Lugano, who have been great players in the past but not up to standard of Premier League football.
We have much better players sitting on the bench. I can see this and so can thousands of other supporters. Why can't the club see this? I fear relegation as much as anyone and that's where we are going if we don't make these changes.
PS I have the utmost respect for these players and know they give 100%,but it is not enough for Prem level. Thank you for listening.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Points the rest of the season
« on: January 29, 2014, 05:15:59 AM »
::) Just had a quick skim over the fixtures we have till May and feel at the worst we will get 18 points. Giving us a grand total of 40 and I presume "safety".
At best I think we can turn a couple of draws into wins giving us 44 points.
If we get mid-40 points it would have been a good year. ;D
