If he picks that midfield against an physical c,hustle and bustle team like Wednesday we will get mullered

Looking on the bright side I see. Is it Sheff Weds we are playing or Liverpool? I know we are not great but there’s no reason to fear them.

I don't fear them unless he picks the same midfield. They had our number under CC and i don't see anything that will change that if TM maintains the same as today.

The good news is he has many options to NOT to do the same as today.

That would be my choice too - unless TM can pull off a marquee late signing, which I am optimistically hoping for

I’m pretty sure Bartley will return for this one. I hope so anyway.

Problem with Bartley in a Mowbray team is that he expects the back line to move up
and close the gap left by an attacking midfield - and then be able to chase back if balls go over the top.

Back to basics with Grant deservedly back in and a recognised striker upfront. I can't see him doing this though as i think he will keep starting Grady and you could argue Wallace doesn't deserve to lose his place. Another change i would make is to partner Bartley/Heggem and play Styles at left back although i would rather us sign a recognised left back (or give the guy on the bench a go) and allow us to move Styles a bit further forward because although he's done well in games i'm still not convinced.

The XI can tolerate/carry one of :  Wallace, Swift, Grady and Mowatt.

Not anymore than 1 of those unless absolutely necessary due to injuries for me.

Of those four , then Mowatt has to be the one

Would also be my choice of the 4 but even then we still don't have to select him anymore. We have Price, JM and Diakite. Down to Tony of course though ultimately

We shouldn't fear them but we need to be wary. They've beaten us already and over the last 10 games Sheff Wed form would have them 8th (4 wins 4 draws and 2 losses) our form would have us 16th (3 wins, 3 draws and  4 losses).

Back on the shelf for now. Might be able to dust him down again in the next few hours. Or maybe not.

Furlong    Heggem   Bartley     Styles

                        Diakite

        Price       Molumby / Mowatt

Fellows                                  Johnstone

                  Lankshear

I cant decide between Molumby and Mowatt. Im 51% Molumby 49% Mowatt.

I prefer Bartley to Holgate.

Diakete infront of the back 4 gives license to all the mid-field and forwards to "bomb on".

I like the idea of three at the back.  But I wouldn't throw both the new boys in at once - maybe half a game each.
Furlong's jumping is good so he might replace Holgate.
I'm not sure that Fellows and Johnston are that good at tackling to be full wing halves.  Diakite's style scares me too much to put him at the base of midfield, I would prefer Price.

                        Josh

        Holgate. Bartley. Heggem

Furlong   Mulumby     [Diakite/Price]     Styles.

Fellows     [Armstrong?/Tammer/Lankshear]   Johnston

BUT... remember

... club rule is that you have to include at least 2 of the golden four [Swift, Wallace, Mowatt, Diangana] :D

For me, fitness, successful loan signing and availability permitting:

Griffiths

Furlong   Bartley   Heggem    Styles

Mowatt   Molumby

Fellows   Swift   Johnston

Armstrong

OMG he's selected John Swift, kill him!!  :o

We were at our most successful under CC with the midfield trio of Mowatt, Molumby and Swift. Get back to it and our John with his lovely soft feet will thrive  ;D

Think this would be the set up that I'd go with but Mowbray has put a lot of love into Diangana and cannot afford to throw him out after two games. On that basis he'll start ahead of Swift in my view.
