Won that game at a canter, very brave selection from Mowbray, thankfully Portsmouth dropped 5 players to rest for their game on Tuesday night against Millwall.

Very pleased for Grady, Swift and Wallace to get on the scoresheet and hopefully give them some confidence.

Racic, aside from one excellent ball to Fellows was poor again.

Diakite i really like this guy. Scrappy but comes out with the ball 9 times out of 10. Offers protection that no others can. Tidy on ball too.

Price had a solid if unspectacular debut with a few nice touches/passes. Didn't have to get out of 2nd gear though so more to come i think.

Shame didn't see Frabotta or Bostock at 5-0 but oh well.

Delighted with the 3 points, we go 5th.  Boro, Blackburn and Watford all lose so a good day indeed!

Even game but once we got the goal we were brilliant.  All the attacking players deserve credit as they got forward and we looked like we'd score with every attack.

2nd half dropped off with all the subs and disappointing not to keep a clean sheet but 5 (five!) goals.

Fair play to TM today. It was a brave team selection which few of us would have agreed with.

Portsmouth literally had a cricketing collapse last 15 mins of first half. They had been the best side for the first 30 minutes. That half and game flattered us. We won't get away with playing swift, Wallace and Diangana every week and especially against better teams.

What I do like is rather than corberan sitting back after 1. We waited until we had 5. Much prefer that!

Fellows was good. Diakite very good when he came on. He should be starting in cm for me? Price steady without anything special but hard to judge him on that game as it was over.
O Albion we love you

Fantastic stuff! Great to see us having a go and giving the opposition something to think about at last!! We were a joy to watch for most of the game.

Excellent. Diakite and Price both looked very good when they came on and potentially to me look like they will be the first choice midfield in a few games time.

Great result, and with all the (apparently) useless ones (Wallace, Diangana, Swift, Holgate) in the starting line up. The amount of negativity in the pre-match chat was incredible. How much do us fans know? Not as much as we think in many cases !!!

Glad get a convincing win, but let's not get carried away. One of the worst teams away from home in the division and they rested half the team for a more winnable game Tuesday.

Their gaffer is going to look like a right plonker now if they dont get a result on Tuesday!

I can appreicate this was against a poor Portsmouth side but you could see some of the key traits in attacking build up from Mowbrays first spell here (especially the ball into no 10's feet for first time lay off to oncoming midfilder to then pass in behind for stiker/winger)

I can imagine when Maja is back with his excellent ability to lay balls off/receive and turn it will be very dangerous.

A great confidence builder for everyone. hopefully we can push on now.

Not a starting 11 I wanted but half expected, however Diangana, Wallace and Swift all played well. Swift had his best game of the season and looked to pass forward rather than just sideways or backwards.
Though we started slowly and looked poor for the opening 10 mins or so  then we started to play.
Mowatt took his goal well  enough although the keeper should be saving it. I think it was the first time he played the ball forward too!!
Thought the subs were generally good with the exception of Racic. Cole didn't really do much either.
MoM for me was Styles although Johnston was the standout in the first half.

In all honesty we’ve probably played better in a first half and not been in front let alone 4-0 up ! Grady’s ability will probably get the headlines but for me MoM was somebody who gets more than his fair share of stick, take a bow Darnell Furlong. Not only involved in a goal or two but steady at the back with good distribution particularly toward Tom Fellows .
Easy to come on when you’re  five up but Price looked a decent athlete that can see a pass , encouraging!

Palmer, Heggem, Styles, Taylor, Fellows, Johnston, Price, Diakite + a few of the academy who are starting to knock on the door. If we can keep them all and do some good business in the summer, we have the basis of an exciting new young side here.

Just listened to Mogga on radio (W)olves (M)ad.

He could not believe that the likes of Swift / Wallace etc were not being played by CC as they are so very technical and gifted players at this level. This is why he played them, and just told all of the players to express themselves without any shackles. Result 5-1. Admittedly against a poor Portsmouth team, who cause problems from set piesces. Under CC this would have been a tight 1-0, maybe 2-0 or a draw.

To illustrate his man mangement style he spoke of Grady. He has put a huge arm around his shoulder and we are now seeing Grady starting to perform. I really hope Grady signs a new contract as he is a total mogga player.

Over the moon by the appointment of mogga

Strange game in many ways. They were the better team until the 2 assists from their keeper. Unsurprisingly we took over after that. Great to see 5 goals and excellent displays from Grady and Johnston among others. The result does nothing to hide the plain fact that we need a striker and soon. Quite simply, we don’t have one at present and not all games will be as easy as this one. Enjoyed it nonetheless.

What an enjoyable game. First full week of Mowbray 2.0. It’s looking promising.

Although there were many excellent performances - Styles, Furlong. Heggem, Fellows, Diangana I have to agree Koren that MickeyJohnston was the best of them all. He is some player and I believe will thrive under Tony Mowbray’s leadership.

I’m not going to get carried away we played a poor pompey team who rested 5 players and did actually come and have a go which allowed us room to play
But credit where it’s due I was sceptical when I saw the line up
Two stand outs fr me Johnston and Styles.
I think Johnston just needed a run of games and having fellows on too helps us stretch the pitch
I’ve always been a swift fan but he’s been rotten this season, if he can up his work rate on a regular basis like today then he can still influence our season
I regularly criticise Mowatt , more for his fitness and mobility than his passing but he did look to play forward more
Can we play without a Diakites/molumby or Price against better teams only time will tell
A good win much needed

Agreed and their goalkeeper was poor for three of the goals too.

I can't believe the stamp Mowbray has put on this team in a couple of training sessions. Quite remarkable.

We were second best for the first 15 mins, we didn't seem to understand our roles but as soon as the first goal went in everything changed.

No sitting behind the ball on a 1 or 2 goal lead, no, when we broke forward we were flooding forward with 5 players attacking the box. So much better to watch.

Grady had a great game, Heggem was imperious, Holgate had his best game for the club (except letting the ball bounce from a couple of long punts), Fellows was a menace and Johnston was MOTM absolutely exhilarating on the wing.

Isaac Price had a good debut. Racic and Cole sadly not up to it.

We played with a higher line, more movement  in forward areas, got the ball forward quicker, looked to get behind at every opportunity.

I don't think Pompey expected a front five when we charged forward and it worked in our favour today. We will need to fine tune this approach once people get used to our approach but that's up to Mowbray to tweak accordingly.

I'm happy today. Proper entertainment at the Hawthorns.

Mowbray said he's only had 2 sessions so far with the lads so fair play to him for that.

I echo every word of this.

I thought it was going to be one of those afternoons after the first 15 minutes but from there on in we were rampant.
