                 Wildsmith
Furlong Holgate Heggem Styles
         Molumby Mowatt
     Fellows Grant Johnston
               Armstrong

2
Mowbray showing like In his first tenure he is not afraid to use his squad and tinker. Presuming he saw the mid week game v a better Blackburn side and wanted to rest Fellows and MJ.

Armstrong busy with a great goal. Wildsmith was steady enough and made some decent saves. Price also looked good. Enjoyed the central axis of molulumby Price and Mowatt. Want to see that with Fellows and Johnston given a full license.

Heggem looks jaded of late but still the best defender we have. Diangana again poor. He needs to be a bench player. Still got Bany to bring in so things are exciting

3
Mowbray still looking for that best 11. He gave minutes to Grant and Price today.

I thought Price, Mowatt and Molumby as a three worked really well today and would have liked to have seen Fellows and Mikey on the pitch with them. However, we simply can't take Mowatt out of this team/off the pitch as we just lose all sense of being able to play football. Our goal came from having no one on the pitch in the middle who would show for the ball forcing us to just lump it and let Sheff Wed back into the game. The only person who should be coming on for Mowatt is Swift as he always shows for the ball and slows play down which is what you want to see out a football match less so when trying to score.

I also would like to see price mowatt molumby with MJ and Fellows. Mowbray still looking to see what is his best team.

Hell of a finish and he was unlucky with his effort first half. Purring at the idea we could have him and Maja as a partnership

Quiet but still assists same with Johnston they are both too good to not start

Made some good saves and came for crosses but still unsure if he's our number 1 but the shirt is there for him to lose

For those worrying he could be just like Marshall last season don’t ! This lad is a unit , physically ready for this level . His first three involvements today earned us one goal and two free kicks. Like all strikers a goal would help him produce even more

Exactly this. As somebody who is 4th choice when everybody else is fit you cannot argue with that

All our focus was on brining in first team players we seem to forget about the promising  youth we needed to loan out...

This is a massive weakness for us as a club providing a pathway to the first team.

This summer we need to release swift, Diangana, Ajayi this summer. Holgate needs to be sent back and not signed. If we aren't going to play Frambotta and Cole they both also need to go.

What's everybody's team now? Styles isn't a lb so I have him out of the defence and on bench. Swift isn't a cm also not in team. Diangana doesn't do it enough so he drops out too. I would like us to try something like this;

                      Griffiths
Furlong Bartley Heggem Frambotta
            Molumby Diakite
      Fellows  Bany Johnston
                      Grant

If Armstrong has signed he starts over Grant.

« on: February 04, 2025, 01:27:29 AM »
Griffiths has 100+ games at 23. Goalies don't usually peak until their 30s but eventually we had to get rid of 1 of the 2.

A deal came in for Palmer that has allowed us to go get a number 10 and sign 1 (maybe 2) strikers.

Palmer has 40 odd clean sheets from 100 games or so for wba which is a ridiculously good record. Best keeper we had on our books since Foster. Button and Crisp packet hands Johnstone were awful. Thanks for your efforts.

Was awful today that's 2 of last 3 he's been rank. And the other game he wasn't all that he had 2 chances on a plate and grabbed an assist. If we can get rid of this window we should otherwise he is 1 of many we must get shot of come june

Not sure he has enough to his game yet for the step up.
Today he was poor and Wallace (who should have been on the bench should have come on for him)

If he can't get serious minutes vs portsmouth and Plymouth that must tell him he's not in Mowbray plans. I would rather us getshot of him and bring in a striker we may use.

Horrific transfer. He's not really had a proper chance

It’s the same argument people use for Diangana, scored a couple assisted a couple etc

Let’s be clear
The last two games were against Portsmouth reserves and the side bottom
Of the league …we won the first but still didn’t look great and we managed to lose the second …which I genuinely believe if we had of played mulumby/Diakite/Grant ,instead of Wallace,Diangana and Swift we would have won ..

So no I wouldn’t ,especially if those goal involvements are for the singular goal in a loss.

I agree with this. We are throwing away games on diangana Wallace and swift

He is still learning his players. Hopefully the Wallace up front and swift in cm experiment is over. We cannot have both Johnston and Fellows off the pitch or we have no creativity.

Hopefully he tests out zambrotta.

Didn't turn up today. And mowbray took off all our attacking outlets by the end so it was just sideways and backwards. 4cms and no striker.

Diangana was poor he should have gone offinsyead of either Fellows or Johnston (at least both of them have a match winning moment in them).

Furlong seems to have gone to pot since Carlos left.

Styles really got found out today he is not a left back. Not really any positives I can take from today.

No surprise but just hope it works. Still wouldn't pick Wallace.

More concerned about the cm pairing. Mowatt isn't particularly mobile is going to have to do a lot of work... thought he might start price or diakite

That's crazy for League 1!

Fair play to J-Rod for getting that deal.

Well wrexham will be under the financial restrictions eventually so that make it harder for them.

To be fair they gave real Madrid a game and he has a few wins already and they were off the bottom of the league.

Very much his type of challenge try not to lose games and grind out enough points to stay up. He will be fine

Not sure Grant is a Mowbray type player but we shall see. Worst case is at least he has performed to a level that we might get a fee for him if TOTAL FOOTBALL TONY decides he is not for him and us

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Grady Diangana
« on: January 26, 2025, 06:32:31 PM »
He could hardly miss the first goal which was gifted to him and his second he had all the time in the world. His assist for Wallace was good. Thought alot of players were better than him yesterday. He didn't play bad by any means

You contrast that to Boro away where he was awful in my eyes. He has to play for a contract be it with us or somebody else. My view is let him leave as we continue our evolution. But if we do decide to retain it has to be on lower wages and a 1 or 2 year deal we cannot be stuck with players in comfort mode (which he has been with us for the previous 3 or 4 since signing)

Glad we kept attacking at 1-0 and 2-0, hasn’t happened for a while…

Tony unlike previous managers we have had be it pulis or corberan won't sit back on a 1-0 we got 5 up today before you felt we began to take it easy. I'm fully on board with that strategy

Portsmouth literally had a cricketing collapse last 15 mins of first half. They had been the best side for the first 30 minutes. That half and game flattered us. We won't get away with playing swift, Wallace and Diangana every week and especially against better teams.

What I do like is rather than corberan sitting back after 1. We waited until we had 5. Much prefer that!

Fellows was good. Diakite very good when he came on. He should be starting in cm for me? Price steady without anything special but hard to judge him on that game as it was over.

We were so bad far the first 30 mins until the gk chucked one in his own net. We improved magic from Johnston then another gk error (shoot on site v this bloke he has a bit of the Buttons about him) third goal good counter finish from Wallace after Diangana steal.

Hard to be critical but we won't get away with this line up vs better opposition. Swift has been anonymous. No hold up play from Wallace. Now we are 3 to the good with half a game left give Cole a go up front
