Zero quality? Catch yourself on

Seconded. Some shocking comments about BTA on here, talk about being ungrateful. He has averaged a championship goal this season every 246 minutes which is 18 goals over a 46 game campaign - more than respectable. He he also already scored some screamers for us. Remember his goal at Ashton Gate last season?

For a player brought in for £300k and more than likely as a squad player the bloke has done a cracking job. Yes, he will have some faults but he's been thrown in at the deep end due to injuries to others.

The only thing I would like is the club to bring in someone to work with him, someone like Bob Taylor, Kevin Phillips etc would help his all round game massively.

When Karlan Grant is mentioned as being better than BTA , I lose interest in the point being made !

As I just said on another thread character is as important as skill BTA has bucketloads of character although short in the other department but at £300K we would easily recoup that money.
Grant we grossly overpaid for and would be lucky imo to get any fee for him let alone 15M was it  :(.

If Grant provided as much as BTA does, no way would CC have tried to sell him to Cardiff. BTA has his faults, but he wouldn't have become a regular in Carlos' team without his work ethic.

Can we do better than BTA yes that's why we have Dike and Maja however circumstances have passed in which he has become our main striker through no fault of his own.

He's our top scorer and is beginning to look like a championship player after jumping 2 divisions. He remains one of our few sellable assets. Is beyond criticism no  but some of the flack he is getting is OTT
O Albion we love you

Would rather start Wallace up front with Fellows wide right.

For me BTA starts every game he's fit, Wallace seems a bit too green to start yet.

Too green? He's 29 and played over 300 games.

Considering all the things he apparently can't and doesn't do I'm taking it as a bonus that two of the things he can and does do are put some effort in and hit the back of the net every now and again. We've got what we paid for and continue to pay for in wages.

A lower league wide forward with enthusiasm, a good work ethic and a desire to succeed who under normal circumstances would not have been expected to carry this amount of workload due to injuries. There's room for improvement but overall he's doing just fine.
Exactly that
We paid for a metro and some expect a Ferrari performance..
He’s a pain and always puts in a shift …there are weaknesses, the constant being caught offside for one …but he has scored some important goals and deserves a certain amount of slack.
If youre going to get told off, get told off for doing something not for doing nothing..

Awful performance from Brandon tonight couldn’t trap a bag of sand and kept coming short for some strange reason has the pace so he should be on last defender’s shoulder.

Still our leading scorer this season whatever anyone says . Best value for money , not free transfers , that we’ve made in seasons .

The lad ain’t good enough period,he might be top goal scorer but I reckon if you played Malcolm or most of our youth strikers as many times as assante played they wouldent be far if his goal tally

I can’t remember a season in which we’ve had such bad luck with injuries.

No rush bringing him back into the team ,12 goals in 5 games and unbeaten since he was injured ,I know Wallace struggled sometimes but his clever movement off the ball created a few goals which I doubt assante would have made ,stick to the same attacking players for me

I'd expect he will play some part on Saturday, mainly because Weimann can't.

oddly enough, our chance creation fell though the floor over the last few weeks. We barely created good chances but are clinical when we do..

I think it’s safe to say we haven’t missed him. Happy to have him back on the bench but I wouldn’t be starting him again any time soon despite our lack of striking options

I very much don't agree. We were lucky to hold out for a point Vs QPR and we were terrible for the opening half Vs Huddersfield.

Wallace has been poor to very poor as the replacement striker.

I think BTA (or any striker, but BTA is the only one) as a direct swap for Wallace is the move. It also allows people to rest and play in their natural positions more.
Whenever things look bad, remember the Port Vale, Grimsby and Walsall days... not so bad now, eh?!

I'd much prefer BTA over Wallace up front and with no Weimann he will play on Saturday i imagine.

What a fantastic selection of wide players we have at this level for CC to chose from.

And what a paucity of central options. Hoping the selection of wide men continue to interchange, find space and the back of the net. COYB  8) .
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.

Yes, up front our weakest area although if Dike gets a run i think he would be just what we needed but not until Xmas now anyway!
