It was a good effort but it couldn’t happen to a nicer club really.

Rooney walks out of this charade with his head held high. Wonder where he ends up next..

Rooney comes out of the Derby debacle with a huge amount of credit. I was somewhat sceptical about coach Rooney but his efforts here working with a threadbare squad in difficult circumstances is a far better grounding than a relatively well fund club were everything is in place for success.

40 goals for Mitrovic and the season isn't over. The best second tier striker of his generation. A cheat code of a player when featuring at this level. So strange that he can't transfer his skills up to premier league level. If he fails again next season he really should be agitating for advertising to Italy, France or Germany where I think he will fit in better.

I know some people on here didn't think Fulham would walk it either which is really strange. If I recall Silva was too bad a manager to get them up.

Isn’t it galling in many ways to see the celebrations as Fulham celebrate their return to the Premier league. Just a few months ago we seemed to be racing certainties to be in their situation. It shows how much we have fallen by the wayside. Sadly we are more likely to fall further than join the big boys any time soon. Fulham and Bournemouth on the other hand fully deserve to go up.

Since CoVID ravaged the finances of the EFL, sides who have been releagted and had subsequent parachute payments have finished:

Norwich and Fulham: 1st
Watford and Bournemouth: 2nd (currently)
Bournemouth: 6th
Sheff Utd: 6th (currently)

WBA: 12th (with 13 placed Swansea holding a game in hand).

I don't think we have fully grasped how big an advantage over the rest of the league we have thrown away. Next season will have 3 relegated sides with more money to compete with, plus maybe Sheff Utd, Boro, Forest. Happy days.

I'd imagine the vast majority of us have fully grasped the size of the advantage that's been thrown away. But it wasn't thrown away by us.

People who apparently know what they're doing have managed that all by themselves. Board level down, players up or both. Even post Val our current position was so avoidable.

Another contender for the season DVD title of 'So Near and Yet So Far' would be 'So Avoidable'. Or even 'Painfully Tragic'. Whatever they decide on it should come with age appropriate guidance.

I was one of those. I was judging Silva on his premier league record (which isn't great) and I didn't expect Fulham to be as strong as they are.

I fully expect them to be relegated next season though.

Strongest squad in the Championship by a country mile. My only hope at the start of the season was that Silva failed to juggle it around sufficiently enough to keep everyone happy and they'd implode with a clash of personalities and egos. I reckon Alan Pardew could have got that lot promoted. And no, I'm not kidding either.

Oh definitely unless they spend some serious cash. Too good for the EFL though even without

But he was in a no lose situation whatever the outcome. The experience will benefit him though.

Despite whatever else happens in the Championship this season the manager of the season is Nathan Jones.

Just shows the  player power in some squads where they can write off a manager if he isn't a household name.

He went back to the club that loves him, saved them from the drop and now has them safely in the PO positions with a squad of free transfers.

One thing is certain if had come to us. He would have been only remembered for his perceived failure  at Stoke and the free transfers he brought in would be booed if they weren't winning in the first half.

Expectations are unrealistically high at our place and patience  can be forgotten.

We've been saying all season though that a high proportion of our chances have been snap chances and fallen to the likes of Furlong, Ajayi, Bartley, Livermore when they are in the box for corners or long throws. It's not really been a case of strikers missing shed loads of good chances - though there have been some of course. Even Dike missed a couple in the 60 minutes he played and Carrol has missed a couple of headers you'd expect him to bury.

Forest beating Fulham, sitting in 3rd while 2nd place Bournemouth are losing at Swansea.

Forest could go from bottom to automatically promoted at this rate

Hats off to the people who run Forest. When it was decision time to stick and twist they took decisive action and it might just pay off for them.
