General Football & Sports / Leeds United New Badge
« on: January 24, 2018, 01:20:19 PM »
Has anyone else seen this? I know Leeds aren't exactly popular but it's sad to see a club with history have a badge that looks like it was created using clip art on Microsoft Publisher, or something out of Pro Evo. Utterly appalling. It's even worse than West Ham's...

General Football & Sports / UEFA Nations League

Has there been a more complicated format in any sporting competition in history? What an absolute dogs dinner this is!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41580638

One daft aspect is that one of the 16 lowest ranked European sides will qualify for Euro 2020...although exactly how this is the case is a mystery as it's so complicated.

General Football & Sports / Most Terrifying Mascot Ever?
« on: June 22, 2015, 10:54:44 PM »
Partick Thistle have unveiled a rather terrifying mascot, which has been likened to Lisa Simpson on meth...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-33225555

Any weirder/scarier mascots out there? I struggled to not burst out laughing when I saw that...*thing*.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Online tickets - family and friends
« on: February 02, 2015, 08:03:26 PM »
I'm in charge of getting us all tickets for the Villa game when they go on sale, and back when I was a STH there was the family and friends feature (I'm not a STH holder any more, managed to borrow my cousin's).

Seeing as this feature no longer exists as far as I can see, how on earth do you go about buying tickets on behalf of others? Do you have to login with each ticket separately?

West Bromwich Albion FC / FA Cup 3rd round - Crystal Palace (H)
« on: December 08, 2013, 03:40:09 PM »
Surprised there's no thread about this, the draw is after the Tamworth match on ITV. We're number 41, Villa 3, Blues 5 and Wolves...erm...  ;D

Villa away would do nicely.

General Football & Sports / Hull City to be renamed

...to Hull City Tigers.

Further unwanted Americanisation poisoning our game. Hull fans are fuming on their forums.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Cup finals
« on: April 16, 2013, 07:27:28 PM »
With Wigan, Bradford and Swansea all reaching cup finals this season. It made me realise how poor our record is in actually reaching them. I'm sure you're all aware that we haven't got to one for more than 40 years. But why is this? In recent years has it been down to the fact we field weak sides (remember the Ipswich quarter final a few years ago?), or is it the luck of the draw?

Either way, as we now seem to finally be an established Premier League club, we should really be giving the competitions a real go.

General Football & Sports / Millwall at it again
« on: April 13, 2013, 07:20:37 PM »
Only this bunch of degenerates would have the lack of class to fight with EACH OTHER at Wembley. Would be funny if kids weren't caught up in it.

Just a heads up, I just received a phone call from an African bloke asking security questions. He claimed to be from "West Albion Football Club". The number was 08005424849. How did he get my details and who I support is what I want to know!

Can someone please explain to me how some toff in a top hat prancing around on a horse is a sport?! Unbelievable. Even more ridiculous than synchronised diving!

General Football & Sports / Euro 2020 could have 12 hosts

The latest pile of excrement pouring from the mouth of Michel Platini...

I sometimes wonder if him and Blatter are right in the head or not...

Bendtner has been fined £80k for showing a bookies logo on his underpants. On the other hand, Porto got fined £16.7k for racist chanting.

UEFA are a disgrace.

General Football & Sports / More shoddy BBC journalism...
« on: June 06, 2012, 04:47:19 PM »
The so-called "pundits" on MOTD have given their top 4 predictions for the Euros. Take a look at Alan Hansen's:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18091750

2nd, 3rd and 4th in particular...who are all in the same group. Unbelievable. How much do they get paid again?

General Football & Sports / Cardiff could be "rebranded"
« on: May 08, 2012, 05:23:43 PM »
"Cardiff City are considering a rebranding which could mean a change of colour and a significant cash injection, BBC Wales Sport understands."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17996534

All in the name of attracting fans from abroad...does anyone else find this incredibly sad? Another nail in the coffin for the sport. I would be furious is they tried to mess about with Albion's traditional colours and nickname.

General Football & Sports / Poor old Man United again...
« on: December 20, 2011, 06:28:33 PM »
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16260753.stm

United have another hypocritical whinge to the FA. They are only being given 11% of the tickets for their tie against City in the cup, despite the fact they are entitled to 15%. Normally, I would have agreed with them, but then you read on in the article...

United have special dispensation from the FA, due to Old Trafford's 76,000 capacity, to offer just over 11% to visiting fans, which is 8,500 tickets.

Why should they get special treatment?! 15% should be 15%! Fair play to Man City I say.

"The Football Association of Wales has just announced the death of national team manager Gary Speed. I can only offer deepest condolences to his family on behalf of us here at BBC Sport. I will bring you further news on this as it develops."

Tragic news. RIP.

General Football & Sports / Poor old Man United...

They are so poorly treated, we should set up a charity for them

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14678931.stm

When will this deluded, senile old fart retire? Maybe he should look at refereeing performances in his side's favour before spouting rubbish like this and how they got away with fielding weaker teams without punishment when the likes of Wolves and Blackpool didn't.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Stoke match moved?
« on: August 04, 2011, 07:53:53 PM »
With Stoke going through to the play-off round of the Europa League, they will play one of the legs on Thurs 25th August, we were due to play them on the following Saturday but I'm guessing this will almost certainly be Sunday now?

West Bromwich Albion FC / Everton Game Moved

The Everton game on May 14th will now be a 12.45pm kick off so it doesn't clash with the FA Cup final:
